Champix and the Cambridge plan

Hi, does anyone know what the medical reason is for Cambridge to recommend that you can't take Champix (stop smoking pill) whilst on Ss+ plan?
Thanks

Is that a definite no? Has your CWPC been in touch with Cambridge Head Office to check?

It may be that you could still do the diet and take Champix so long as your doctor agrees to supervise you. However, given that you haven't got loads to lose (assuming your stats are right?) you could always try another diet if your doctor doesn't agree. I'd imagine the side effects that some people get with Champix are the reason for not recommending you do Cambridge at the same time (Nausea, Headache, Difficulty sleeping, Abnormal dreams, Sleepiness or fatigue, Dizziness, Change in taste, Dry mouth, constipation, diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort or bloating, indigestion).

It's a definite no as it's on the contradiction form that I got given for my GP - It didn't say why though

Thanks for your replies. As Kimboowee says its states it on that form but is also in the Cambridge book I was given. I've been thinking of maybe switching diets as its really important that I stop smoking but the usual patches etc aren't enough for me! Thing is I want to lose another 12lbs in 10 weeks and think Cambridge is the only one I can do this on! I will try and contact Cambridge directly x
