Hi Everyone,

Has anyone else experienced a weight gain? I have stuck completely to the plan, no cheating - honest ! The last few weeks I have lost a few pounds...but then this week I gained..YES 'gained' 2 pounds...:sigh:

Not sure what is happening, am hoping some one out there has experienced the same thing?

I have spoken to CDC who says it just happens sometimes... which isn't the best of news... I am post menopause so no time of the month issues and I exercise every day, have three shakes and a small meal of in the evening. All food comes off the list we can have, so I am stumped !

Any help / advice???

Water retention due to the heat?

How much do you drink?

If not plenty enough it will be water retention because of the heat

Oh I do feel for you, that must be so frustrating. But, looking at your signature, you have done absolutely amazing with your losses so fingers crossed this is just a weird blip. I dont think it can possibly be fat that you have gained so that really does only leave water. Sick to it, try not to be disheartened and hopefully you will get a good loss next week.

I was going to say water, then everyone else did. So the amount of calories needed to make one lb of fat is something like a few thousand, though there is loads of rubbish online about that calcualtion as well. However, it is more likely due to the heat and needing to drink more. Also I would check your measurements. since muscle weighs more than fat but takes up way less space, you may find your legs are a bit thinner or something.

It could be water retention, as all these other wise people have said! How long have you been on Cambridge?

My other suggestion, and sorry if this is a bit personal, is that if you're experiencing constipation (very common on Cambridge), the weight might be related to that.

In true British style I blame the weather. Don't worry you know the diet works and the weight will come off your body must be retaining water or something equally harmless. Try taking measurements and checking that your measurements are going down.

Hi Everyone.... Good news !!! You were all right ! well I think so..;) I have just been weighed and yep I am very happy I have lost 4 pounds ...:D

Blooming weather (that's me being V polite LOL) oh and yes a little erm.. *whispers*.. constipated

Thank you all so much for your support, it really does help ya know! :bighug:

Great news about the 4lb loss!! Looking at your stats though you're only a few pounds away from goal and have a nearly-normal BMI. It might sound daft but for some people in that situation, moving up the plans really helps (I know it sounds like it would do the opposite but it really seems to work). It probably was the heat as you've had a good loss this week but if you find your weight loss is slowing overall, it might be worth going up to 810 x
