Step 1 Sole Source New Starts

So I've just had my first meeting with my cdc and am starting out on a journey back to where I was three years ago...

I want to lose between five and six stone, but I'm not sure how long it's going to take.

I'm starting out tonight, which I know is a bit unusual, because I want the meeting with my cdc to be the 'watershed' moment, and so my journey has begun.

I haven't tried any of the 'food' yet, but I'm just about to do so - here's hoping I like it...

Is anyone else starting out this week?

I've just had my first shake. A warm chocolate mint. It was fine, but I think next time I'd put a bit more water in it to thin it down a bit.

Has anyone got any recommendations on which shakes are nice hot, and which aren't?

Hello and good luck on your journey
I personally think the choc mint and choc orange are both much better hot. Vanilla with a spoon of coffee in (hot) is what I'm living on.... lush!
tried the same with coffee and toffee and walnut hot...hmmmm not so nice!

not tried any others hot, let me know if you discover any nice ones

I mix together a cappuccino and a toffee and walnut and add extra coffee think it tastes like a fancy coffee with a nutty syrup, yummy but quite sweet.

Hi there. For 5- 6 Stone - if your really committed then 18mths :) If really really really committed you could do it sooner. DO make sure you follow ALL the pans though & not just leap off or you will regain the weight - just a note of experience :)

Re hot shakes:
vanilla with coffee / cap / hot choc (+Mint & orange) - all good. I add coffee to all of them :). - all good!!

Strawberry / banana / plain vanilla discussing hot!!

Be sure to use "hot" not boiling water as it will degrade the nutrition - porridge & tomato soup are different.

Leak & potato soup is my fav!! I have 2 a day!!

The weight would be well off before 18 months! A stone a month is average, but then you need to work up the steps to maintain, so works out a bit longer x

Thanks for the info and tips, guys.

I've just had my third shake of the day. I had a ready-mixed banana one this morning for breakfast, which I really liked, a mango one for lunch and a butterscotch for tea.

I've also drunk 3.75 litres of water so far today and a couple of cups of tea. I have to admit that I've been thinking of food quite a bit, but so far have resisted temptation.

I've also got some Benefiber which I'm planning ta take every day - does anyone know if that's ok?

I'm starting to get a bit of a headache now, which is ok, because to be honest I anticipated one coming on much earlier. Close to bedtime it's not such a problem.

All in all, a good day. Here's hoping tomorrow goes well, too.

Well I've just finished my third 'meal' of my second day. I had a hot chocolate orange shake, which was really tasty actually - I aded quite a bit of extra water, so it was quite thin, like real hot chocolate. Earlier today I also tried the maple and walnut porridge. The taste was good, but the consistency was not! Still, I reckon I can manage them for a bit of variety.

Had quite a tough day today as I got some bad news early on, and I have also been feeling a bit sorry for myself due to pulling a muscle in my neck, but I thought about food less than yesterday, so I regard it as a successful day. Still no real sign of a headache, though, which I'm thankful for.

Hope you're all having a successful day, too.

So day three is almost over and I survived my first restaurant lunch with colleagues - just a pot of tea for me, please!

It wasn't easy, but I think it was worth it. I'm just having my final shake of the day - toffee and walnut, which is better than I expected, as I'm not usually the biggest fan of nutty things. I also tried my first soup, vegetable, and I actually enjoyed that, too.

I'm a bit nervous about tomorrow as it'll be my first day off while on Cambridge. I'm hoping the thoughts of food remain at bay.

So day 4 is over. Today went sloooowwwlly. I went food shopping with my husband, which wasn't the easiest thing in the world seeing as the supermarket has a bakery bit, which you can smell as soon as you get in the door. That said, it wasn't torture, either.

I've decided to set up a reward system for myself as I reach my mini-targets - the rules are that the rewards are not food related (obviously!) and that they get better the more weight I lose. I'm thinking that I'll probably get myself discount vouchers from one of the websites that offer them. First reward might be a facial, or a manicure or something like that. I'm hoping that doing this will help keep me motivated, and get me away from the indset that food is a reward. We'll see how it goes!

Day five under the belt! Today was really hard!

One of our students brought in two Spanish omelettes for our staffroom. That is one of my all-time favourite foods. I found it almost impossible to resist, but I did. I even brought some home for my husband and managed not to sneak even a wee morsel! Although I am pretty proud of myself for that, it set me off craving food very early on, so later on I was looking lustfully at my husband's plate of sausage roll, beans and chips. Still managed to resist, though. I really hope this feeling doesn't last, as it is HARD to resist foods that I otherwise would have scoffed a plate of.

Here's to tomorrow...

Day six is over. Weigh-in tomorrow. Still no cheating, so at least something should be off.

How did your first weeks go girls?

I lost 8lbs, too, and I'm also pretty happy with that. Hopefully next week's loss will be ok, too, but I'll be having my weigh-in a day early as my CDC can't make it on Wednesday.

I'm putting a pound in my piggy-bank for every pound lost, so I'm £8 closer to buying something nice!

That's a really good idea!!

Well done to both of you, and am so stealing the idea of £'s for lbs lol. Wonder if my Mum and b.friend would get on side with that too, would be loaded lol, although the way I'm going through clothes not for long :D

Well done on your losses!!

Just noticed the hot drink comment - I live off the tetras as a hot chocolate... I can get 2 out of one carton...
I just poor 1/2 a carton to a mug and top up with hot water - I love it :)
