Preparation for new starter

Hi Everyone,

I plan to start the Cambridge diet next Tuesday. I have to bake a 21st cake on Monday for a friend of mine so I figured I want all temptation out of the way!

So tomorrow I am off to see a lovely Cambridge diet leader and will be getting all the kit I need to start me off on week one.

I'm getting married at the end of July but reality tells me I need to aim for June in case hen do and any other blips take place, also the dress needs to be more fitted than 'fatted'.

I'm asking everyone for all tips to get me through it. Breath mints, Strips or Spray? Herbal Teas allowed? (milk doesn't factor I don't drink coffee and I've never had milk in Tea), Constipation relief to be Fibre Gel (certain flavour?) or tablets etc?

I am really down on food at the moment, I seem to want to stuff my face the more I am trying to diet for my beloved wedding dress! So I want to take it out of the equation all together. What are the tips you would give to KEEP on the diet for as long as possible?

All help muchly appreciated, I am desperate to stop eating!!!

If you drink water regularly you shouldn't have breath issues.

Before you start the diet I would cut your carbs for at least 2 days to quicken/ease getting into ketosis.

I use psyllium husk for toilet trips.

Good luck!

I always try and cut carbs in the run up to going SS, and I try and keep busy, lots of long walks and long baths for those first few evenings. It will appear that every TV advert is for a food that you need to have, there will also seem to be a ridiculous number of cooking programmes that you will suddenly have to watch, keeping busy will keep the cravings at bay and you just need to get through 3 or 4 days and it will all be hunky dory.

Good luck.

Thank you both!

Is there a site which lists exactly what we are allowed.

I've read somewhere Diet Coke isn't allowed and I wouldn't mind knowing some more about teas (I love my teas for a relax). Are peppermint and Green allowed?

Did you not get given a Cambridge book when you went to see your counsellor? That has everything in it I think. Diet Coke isn't allowed, I think you can have one can of Coke Zero a day, or if not officially some people do and it doesn't seem to make a difference. My counsellor has told me I can if I really can't do without. I vaguely remember you can have any tea apart from fruit teas (but don't quote me on that).

Hope you manage to find someone with the answers.
