Hello everyone :)

Well after two weeks of (near obsessively!) reading the posts on here, I decided to post something.

My names Cass and I've been on Cambridge step 2 for the past 2 weeks. At the beginning I weighed 13st 7 and have lost 3 pounds each week (including a prep week) to bring me to 12st 11. Not sure how I'm feeling about the losses- everyone seems to be having such massive losses I'm convinced I'm doing something wrong lol! Other than going wild and having a bag of chocolates (not even the big share bags that under normal circumstances I NEVER share!) I've stuck to the plan completely and to be honest its reading all your posts that have kept me going! Having a friendship circle that seems to soley consist of size 8 girls and a boyfriend that eats burgers everyday and still manages to possess a 30 inch waist, I'm finding that its lovely to realise that other people understand where I'm coming from!

Anyway, enough waffling! I just wanted to say hello and a big well done to all of you!

Hi Cass,

Nice to see you here. You are going in the right direction - downwards so that's a good thing. Keep at it and it will come off!

I've been on step two since I started. My first week I lost 5lbs and one other random week I lost 4lbs but I consistently only lose 1-3lbs a week. I figure if it's going down then that's the right direction. I think some weeks I don't drink enough water and I know events (weddings etc) have affected some weeks. You're doing really well if you get 3lbs next week you have lost almost a stone in a month and that is fabulous! Remember we are all different and have different bodies and lives so we will lose at different rates, what does it matter though if you're losing?

keep going you're doing fab!

Thank you everyone. Its nice knowing I'm not the only one in the same boat so thank you for the reassurance! :)
I guess you're right tiggemma, its 9 pounds less to haul around haha! All adds up!
On a night shift tonight- my first since starting the plan and already made a rookie error of already having all my products. I predict a long night ahead. Have already asked for the chocolate tin to be hidden lol!

Have a tea or coffee if you need to, use skimmed milk and no sugar and you'll be fine. I have milky coffees when desperate.

Total loss on cambridge - 2 stone 11lb :)

Only lost a pound this week- pretty gutted! Had a Chinese last Saturday but been working hard the rest of the week so feel annoyed I missed all my Easter eggs just for a pound lol! Guess these things happen, just feeling really deflated about the whole thing :(

You did much better than me with that pound! My first week - last week I stayed the same because I gave into Easter eggs.

You are lighter than you were - well done!

But at least you stayed the same even though you had the eggs haha! You'd be gutted if you'd put it on! :)
I know you're right- it is all the right direction, just feeling like I'm working hard and not getting the rewards ATM. Although people have started to comment on me looking slimmer so something must be happening!

Are you measuring inches as well as lbs? Sometimes I won't lose much (or any) lbs but have lost an inch off my waist. So it's definitely worth taking lots of measurements to get the full picture.

Yeah tbh my inches have always been better than my weight losses, but this week they really weren't up to much either. I guess it's just one of those weeks- crossing my fingers it's TOTM or something lol! Just really annoying! On step 2 but tempted to go to SS. My consultant doesn't really rate it unless you have loads to lose, but I'm thinking of doing it anyway. Not really sure as I feel bad lying to her but sometimes it's better to just take the whole food equation out of it as I'm always tempted to eat more!
Has anyone been on both steps who could advise me on what they'd recommend?
Thanks!

Well I am officially on step two and always have been. I had 3 stone to lose and I have 10lbs left. However if I'm not hungry or busy or feeling like I want to be extra good then I go ss or ss+ I've been told that the weight loss differences aren't massive but sometimes you just need to give it a try. I don't do whole weeks on ss just the odd day or two.

That's a good idea- maybe I might try doing that. I've got a hen weekend in a few weeks time so would really love to have at least lost another half a stone by then. Perhaps a mixture is the way forward!
When I'm working I know I'll need the extra calories from the meal, but when I'm in lectures or at home it's only brain power I'm using so could go without!

Never thought I'd be an inspiration. I don't have any recent photos but here one of me before and then 1.5 stone lost. Keep going it's worth it!

My consultant said consistency is the key, ie the same amount of calories every day for the week. Is that true?

I dunno why that would be the case. Every day in normal life people vary their diet why would it be so bad for us to do so? I think the consistency in what you avoid eating is really important (so no extra carbs) but otherwise I can't see why 200 calories would drastically alter anything. I'd rather ss than end up eating something not on the step 2 plan. Plus my CDC has told me people do the whole moving between steps. I think you have to do it consistently when you are working up the steps to avoid weight gain when coming off plan. Certainly people go up a step to kick start their metabolism again and then back down to continue weight loss.

Yes I thought it was strange too. Basically I told her that I'd had some chicken then a boiled egg on another day. She said if be better having one boiled egg every day to stay consistent. Yet I know that your metabolism can be reawakened by the odd curveball thrown in.

Maybe your CDC is a bit of a stickler for sticking to the rules? Seems a bit odd! I think it's probably ok unofficially.
