Should I try Cambridge?

So I am currently 16st...
I have been trying to count calories through my fitness pal, and I have got nowhere!! I keep cheating myself!
So I was looking at possibly starting Cambridge, I emailed the local consultant (yet to here back) but my conserns are: I work full time in a supermarket stacking shelves (and running up and down the stairs) so will sole sourcing even be an option for me?
I am somewhat addicted to sugar (half the reason calorie counting, Ww, SW haven't worked!) so I know cutting that out is going to be a challenge?
do the food packs taste okay? (The shakes and stuff)- I'd hate to be a week In and not like any of the packs and just give up. What sorta thing they comparable to? (I'm not expecting frijj and heiz cream of tomato, but a comparison would be cool)
i could start on a few days off but I feel it would be easier if I was at work without the temptation of food.... But to easier because I would be working and getting hungry :s
I just feel fed up, and that just starting from scratch and learning to eat properly would help....
sorry I'm rambling but I guess I would like some advice?
I might try ringung the consultant either tomorrow after work or Monday.. But I wanted to here what you kind people had to say first :)

Hi :) Welcome!

It's hard to give advice on this as everyone's different - and what works for one is probably a nightmare for someone else. But, that said, I can share a bit of my thoughts about the CWP in case it's useful.

I'm really active (my job takes me up and down the country and I'm usually on my feet all day, plus I do a fair bit of exercise too). As I wanted to keep doing what I was doing, I started on Step 2 instead of SS. I was really worried that this would mean I lost weight too slowly (and one of my reasons for choosing the plan was the quicker pace of loss). I shouldn't have worried - I'm heavier than you, but I found that the weight dropped off. It's been pretty easy/simple so far ... and having a bit of food (but really clear guidance over what's OK and not OK) is helping me make choices around what I eat ... which I figure will help when I'm back on regular food.

The first few days were tough, though, even on Step 2. I started at the beginning of a weekend and I'm glad I did ... I had little/no energy, felt a bit dizzy and generally a little ill at ease. That passed after a few days, but I had to be careful about how much I walked in the first few days as my body simply wasn't used to taking in so few calories. After that, though, I found that energy people talk about and have been able to do what I was doing before without any ill effects.

Personally, I really like the food packs. The shakes are, on the whole, tasty (and there are ways of mixing it up by making mousses or having the mint choc as hot chocolate). Some of the bars are divine (others are just OK for me, but I order them any way so I have a variety). I've had mixed results with soups ... i really love the oriental chilli and some of the others, but not so much the leek and potato one. Everyone's different, though. The only thing I really dislike is the risotto. I hated it. Other than that, all good :)

I've found that the CWP works for me where others didn't as it gives me a real sense of clarity. There's no deviating from it, which means I can't stretch it like I stretched other things. I'm also in a different place - I'm committed to it, whereas before I don't think I was. It's not an instant fix, but for me it has been a real turning point. I'm also working on my body image and my relationship with food whist doing the plan as I guess it's this which will help me keep the weight off in the long term.

Whatever you decide to do - good luck!

Start on a Friday morning as the first day isnt the worst and then you can write off that weekend. Then do step 2, 800 cals is recommended for people on their feet all day. Also I'd stick to the sweet shakes only and they'll curb the sugar craving. I didnt bother with the soups or porridge after the first week.
