    Worried about eating again

Is anyone else worried about reintroducing food again?

I am one of the lucky ones that seems to enjoy this diet and ssing. Im onto my 3rd week my losses are stable and I can see how I am eventually going to reach my end goal.

But I am already so worried about how I am gonna maintain and stay away from the pitfall of putting it all back on again.

I just worry that my body will get used to functioning on this small amount of calories and the minute I eat anything Ill put weight on?

Is this just paranoia or does anyone else feel this way?

    thanks xx

Dont worry, everyone feels this way. I see from your ticker that you have a long way to go, please dont worry about maintaining yet, best just to tackle each day/week as it comes.
I personally think that the longer you ss the more confidence it gives
you, its so extreme that if you can stick to it til BMI 25 and then work your way through the steps carefully you cant go wrong.
After that its your choice, you know you have control over your body (see the control you had doing ss) so if you want to stay slim and healthy you can. Just use that same control to moderate what goes into your mouth!
    xx

I've been doing a lot of mulling about this too recently. I won't be at goal til around the end of August/Sept i am estimating as i am coming off CD early for my hols in July. I am currently working my way up the plans in preparation for my 2 weeks away as i want to be eating "normally" at that stage but intend to return to some form of CD (maybe 810) when i get back. (I'm still losing weight so don't worry about eating the added food up the plans) I have taken a leaf out of Porgeous's book and have signed up to Weightlossresources online and intend to Calorie count/low GI in order to maintain. I think plan, plan and plan ahead is the only way i am gonna keep this off. I think WLR will help me greatly as it has a fab calorie counter.

I lost a lot of weight with WLR but it really tapped into my anorexic/bulimic tendancies i.e. I would count count count then go to the gym and kill myself. I'd be doing nearly 1,000 calorie sets at the gym :-(

I was wondering how porgeous was maintaining as she looks fantastic and I find her pictures inspirational. I was thinking of going back onto Slimming World once I have gone through all the steps as I found it very easy to follow and you have a lot of free foods to snack on and just having to work out if you are going to have a red day or green is just sooo simple and there is no way I'd be able to calorie count it would send me right over the edge and I'd loose the battle. OMG Emma, what a nightmare for you!! However, i am a serial exercise hater and don't think that'll happen to me somehow!! I have also discovered since starting CD that if i put my mind to something, i will succeed!! I have lost weight before on WW (3 stone) which i gained again over 2 years but i know where i went wrong and the difference this time is that i am DETERMINED (underlined and in bold)not to put this back on - I would just be letting myself down and everyone else!! (and i'm not going through this again for love nor money!!)

    Hi all

Your feelings are completely natural, I too enjoyed the SS part of CD and was worried about maintaining. The biggest thing for me was letting go of that fear, I realised the more I stressed about it the more likely I was to look to food to relieve that stress if you know what I mean! I decided not to follow any diet plan as such like WW or SW but to calorie count so that I could essentially eat whatever I wanted as long as it added up. However, what I have found is that more often than not I choose relatively healthy options as this way I can eat yummy food and plenty of it so I don't feel hungry. There is room for indulgences along the way but these are the exception rather than the norm. As Jaxie said planning for me is the key, I plan my days as my danger zone would always be when there was nothing in the fridge and the chocolate cupboard started calling!

All in all so far it has been relatively painless so please don't worry gang!

    Gxx

In the early weeks I was terrified of getting back to food, but around week 8 as I saw the end in sight I started to look forward to it and get a little impatient to move up the plans. I considered staying on SS one more week but I felt I was ready to move up the plans. I have to say I am just starting on my second week moving up and eating completely within the plan but couldnt be enjoying it more. This weeks loss was just under 2 lbs but I expected it to slow a little but I am happy with how my attitude to food has been this last week or more and when the time comes for you to move up the plans you will be ready to face it too
