Having a shake 1st thing in the morning?

Hi guys, was talking to my cdc the other day and she said if I have a shake 1st thing in the morning it kickstarts metabalisim therefor making lose more something like that she said.

I always had my 1st shake at 1ish (lunchtime) i never ate breakfast.

The past few days ive been having my shake earlier than one, just wondering whats your thoughts on this? Or maybe another cdc can explain it better than me

I was always told that breakfast was the most important meal of the day because it does exactly what your CDC said. Its called breakfast because it "breaks" the "fast" whilst you have been sleeping overnight!

No idea, never heard that one before! But worth a try... I tend to have everything late in the day as I worry I will finish all my shakes too early and be hungry in the evening instead!!! Of course completely contary to this I always end up trying to force everything down between about 5pm and 9pm!

I might try this too. I usually have my shakes late for the same reason as BishBosh and i dont like going to bed feeling hungry. But i know that having breakfast does raise your metabolism in the mornig and those who miss breakfast are more likely to be overweight in the future.

But i dont now if it applies with CD because it is such low cals!

I'll still give it a go, i might go hav my first milkshake now actually, lol.

Hmmmm this post has certainly given me something to think about. Like alot of the rest of you I tend not to have my first shake till lunch.
I'll maybe try this tomorrow and see what happens.

I think that it is a good idea to start getting into the habit of having b'fast (even if it is a shake). I always read/hear in the media that people who eat b'fast are healthier/slimmer and those who dont.

I have my first one at 5.15am, I commute 50 miles to work and have to have something first thing to start my metabolism or I tend to crave food by the time I get to work. I have another tetra at lunchtime and when I get home about 6.30pm have a bar and a lovely black coffee. I must admit that because I get up so early I'm in bed early but I'm never hungry.

I'm on SS+ and always have a breakfast shake, soup or salad at 1pm, soup or salad at 6pm (depending on which one I had for lunch!), and then a tetra or bar for an evening snack.

I try to have my shakes/soups around the time that I would have eaten normally anyway, and this works for me. I couldn't go til lunchtime before the first thing, I wouldn't be able to get any work done for thinking about my rumbling tummy!
