I'm pretty sure they will ask you about strengths and weaknesses...and it's always good to identify what you are weaker at, however make sure that for your example you back it up with a positive so for example...I sometimes struggle with meeting deadlines so i have been working on being better organised and breaking my work down into chunks to make sure i meet my required deadline. Sorry thats a bad example but you get the idea. Always make sure your strengths outweigh your weaknesses which i'm sure they do anyway!

Where do you see yourself in x amount of time?
What makes you right for this position?
How do you deal with stress?
How do you work well with others, give example?
Do you prefer to work alone or in a team?
Demonstate a time you faced a problem and how you solved it!

Just a few off the top of my head.......i can't help with percentages i'm afraid, i am terrible at maths.

Researching the company is vital and find a key something about the company and mention it in a reply to a question as it shows you have an active interest.

Best of luck hun, fingers crossed for you.xx

They'll probably ask you about the financial situation at the moment, and if you understand what tracking the interest rate is about, i reckon this cos people have lost faith in the financial situation of this country.

Really have to brush up your maths, percentages, decimal points, all that stuff. Look up GCSE maths xx

Ameythist is a jewel in the roughAmeythist is a jewel in the rough

Nicked this off another website!!

In order to find x percent of any number the general way of doing that is to multiply the number by the percentage. Since percentage means hundredths of any number, percentages are written with the decimal point moved two places toward the left-hand side. With whole numbers the decimal point does not show, and since moving the decimal point over one place would indicate tenths, examples of how percentages should be written before multiplying are: .05 (five percent) or .20 (20 percent). An example is find 40% of 80: Multiply 80 (since its a whole number you don't see the decimal point) by 0.40 (which is how percentages can be written, although the 0 before the decimal point isn't really necessary). The answer is 32.
Multiplying any number by any percentage (and remembering to include the decimal points in the answer) will give the percentage.
Quick tricks for finding percentages can be used. For example, if one wants to find 30% of a number s/he can start with the original number, mentally move the decimal point over one place (in order to find 10% really quickly) and then mulitply that 10% by 3 (because 10 x 3 =30). Any time the percentage involved is divisible by 10 this trick can be used.
Another quick trick for finding 5 percent is to move the decimal point over one place (again, to find 10 percent easily) and divide that result in half (because half of 10 is 5).
Finding percentages that are multiples of 5 (for example, 25) can be done in three steps: Move the decimal point over one place to get 10%, divide that figure in half to get 5%, and then mulitply that figure by 5 (because 5 x 5 = 25).
Also, knowing that 10% equals 1/10th of any number means that finding 10% can also be done by dividing by 10.
Most people are familiar with the fact that a quarter (25 cents) is 1/4th of 100 and that 50 cents is 1/2 of 100. Keeping those basics in mind, one can easy remember that finding 25% of any number means dividing it by 4 and that finding 50% of any number means dividing it by 2.
In the case of something like 75% figuring that out could be done either by using the above divisible-by-5 method or, if its easier, finding 25% and multiplying that by 3 (because 3 x 25 = 75).
A trick for finding 40% might be moving the decimal point over one to get 10% and either remembering that figure or writing it down. Then divide the number for which you're trying to find 40% of by 2. Once you have half of the number subtract that 10% you first figured out - and you've got your 40%.

Every single interview i have ever been for i have been offered the job, this is what i do...

Of course after you have done your homework,
You keep your cool,
Always keep eye contact,
When they talk, SMILE, nod head, as if your listening intensely,
If they ask you something you have no idea about, say, i am willing to learn, if you offer me the job i will do all the research i need to do to be good at this "subject"

I remember when i went for this job, 3 people interviewed me, and they asked if i had ever used a particular computer program, which although i had always wanted to learn, could never afford it, and i said no, sorry i have not, i am a quick learner, and if i need to i will seek a course before the job starts and learn.

I was told they were very impressed with that, shows commitment, so do not be ashamed of showing your weaknesses aswell as your plus's!

Good luck to you!

I will add you to my positive thoughts and send you some good luck!

the way I work out percentages is this:

Say you wanted to work out 20% of 150, I would do 20 / 100 * 150

also, another thing I have been doing at work is working out the percentage of appraisals that have been returned so have done it like this:

no returned / no of people in company * 100

hope these might help! xx

There are so many ways to work out percentages, the best thing is to find a method you are happy with. If you give an example of the questions asked, I can show you a couple of methods. Generally it is easier to find 10% first if you have to do it mentally, or have a calculator close by so you can check your answers.
Good luck.

Thankyou for the reply's guys, i am going to answer questions now see what you think?

Where do you see yourself in x amount of time?

I see myself, working up, and into a full time position and hoping for a promomotion.

What makes you right for this position?

Because, i am a very keen induvidual, to learn and to work hard, and i work very well as a team and by myself.

How do you deal with stress?

I do not deal with stress because i do not get stressed, i find anything i take on a goal, and i do not stop untill i have done it.

How do you work well with others, give example?

I work very well with other's, i once worked in a sewing factory where we made clothes for a very well known name, where we had to work as a team, and within a goal to reach a target, which we always done on time Beacuse we were a great team.

Do you prefer to work alone or in a team?

I must be honest i do prefer to work on my own, But i also like to work as a team.

Demonstate a time you faced a problem and how you solved it!

I faced quite a serious problem when i was working in a sewing factory, the company who we made clothes for were expanding our work load, and we did not have much notice, it was quite a busy time, but all of us were motivated to get this done, we did work overtime and got to the target easily and within the specified time.

As for precentage's etc, i think i understand them now.

for example 80% of £100,000 would be £80,000, 25% of £100,000 would be £25,000 alot easier to work out in tenth's BUT what if i am asked to work out for an odd number? Or a % such as 17.5% ? ohhhhhhhhhhh

The only answer I do not like is the one about stress, everyone gets stressed to some degree about something.
Personally I think a certain amout of stress within a role is a positive thing, it is how you use this - eg if you have a very short time span to do a job an element of stress will come into it, however you may turn this round to speed up how you perform your job & meet the necessary timescale.

Hope this helps - the rest of the answers were spot on.
Also, an accountants way of calculating 17.5% is the number x 7/40!! But this is probably even more confusing!

To mentally work out 17.5% , you could find 10%, then half it to get 5%, then half the 5% to get 2.5% then add all three amounts and that will total 17.5%

For example 100,000
10% = 10,000
5% = 5,000
2.5% =2,500

add them up to get 17.5% = 17,500

i think they may ask you to give examples of team work and demonstrate resilience....you need to use 'key words' such as support and help. approachable, motivate others ask for help when needed. resilience is all about being able to say 'no' without becoming emotionally involved and getting into a row with a customer.i was recently asked in an interview to give an example of a project that i had completed. this is covered by a competancey of 'personal responsibilty' its about working on your own , albeit you have said you like to do that nowadays they are usually competancy based and they was specific examples.

im not sure if you will have a competency based one....but always worth while follwing these actions
c- context
s- situation
a-action
r-result

so if for example they ask you about team work,
c= initially summerise what its about.
s- your eample
a- what happened
r- the final result...
