Diet: US Cambridge Diet - Fast Start
Sugar Free Seweeteners - A Warning

If you're anything like me, you sometimes used sugar-free sweeteners, which are acceptable on CD, to sweeten your shakes.

I've just received some very disturbing information, and would like ot pass on a word of caution:

Splenda: the 2% of it that is not pure contains heavy metals, methanol, and... ARSENIC! And it stimulates the appetite and may lead to organ, genetic, immune system, and reproductive disorders. Advertised as all natural, but is really a highly processed chemical compound.

Saccharine is a tar-coal compound, so be wary of too much Sweet and Low.

Aspartame: Converts into formaldehyde once in the body. Causes memory loss, nerve cell damage, blindness, joint pains, BLOATING, nervous system disorders, hair loss, CRAVINGS, and WEIGHT GAIN. (Read: Equal and NutraSweet.)

ALL of these are highly acid forming.

That being said, once off the diet: avoid processed sugars, too. Nice alternatives are raw sugar, agave nectar, turbinado sugar, aple syrup, molasses, and evaporated cane juice.
