    Advice needed if possible

I've been doing Cd now since 29th Sept (with a 4 week break over xmas and New Year) and have so far had a good weight loss. Thing is I'm struggling to stick to SSing. THe most I've managed in one go is 3 weeks and that was right at the start. I've tried the 790 plan but I found that I just ate more than I should. Since re-starting on 8th Jan I've managed a grand total of 7 days before I cracked. I seem to have lost all motivation even though I've set myself goals (see my crap week post for those!).

I'm seriously thinking about switching to WW to loose the last 2 stone needed but the thing thats putting me off is the slower weight loss. I'm so impatient and I'm worried that if my losses are a pitiful 1lbs a week I'll loose all sense of what I'm trying to acheive.

I started back at the gym on Monday and I was really really knackered yesterday afternoon and I'm sure it's because I'm not eating (even my gym instructor was worried about burn-out because of lack of carbs and glucoise). It's not as if I'm over-doing the exercise either (30 minutes on cardio twice last week and then walking the school run which is a 20 minute brisk walk each way).

Just looking for a bit of advice as to my next step really as going in and out of Kitosis every fews days surely can't be good for me.

Hi Essexmum, hun i am sorry i cant really give you any advice concerning Ketosis and if it is bad for you to be in and out of ketosis every day but i am sure someone with alot of SSing experience will sooon be along to advice you.

You said you are seriously thinking of joining WW but you are worried about small losses of a pound a week, could you instead of following the normal WW plan incorporate it with a low GL/GI plan which will def help you to lose weight maybe even a bit faster also it has so many benefits especially when it comes to giving you sooo much energy which will help you do the work outs that you want to do in the gym.

There are many books and sites with low GL/GI info but i just found an excellent book which is actually for people who want to lose weight following a low GL diet and it is so easy to follow, it is called "THE HOLFORD LOW-GL DIET MADE EASY BY PATRICK HOLFORD. I have been following this plan for the last 5 days already i am noticing so many bebefits from extra energy to sleeping better.

Hope i have been able to help you, take care and chat soon xx

You are worried about only losing 1-2lbs per week with WW but that must be better than not sticking to CD and not losing anything. I agree that constant feast or famine is not good for the body or the brain nor is the sense of failure when youve cheated again. The choice is either get back on ss and get rid of your 2st in 2 months or join ww, exercise and it will take 4 months. I wish you every success in which route you choose, such a hard choice.

Happe is right - slower losses on WW/SW true, but at least you can eat, and a 'cheat' doesn't have the dramatic impact that it does when you are doing SS. Either way, you need to commit to whatever plan you decide on - don't vacilitate between the two as it will drive you insane.

If you decide to switch to WW or SW, then give it 110%, give it a good month's try and don't dwell on ss. The fast weight loss only happens if you stick with it, and if you can't stick with it accept that and make the choice to move to something else.

With 2 stone to go, you're going to be facing food sooner rather than later anyway - perhaps this is a good time to make that move? Whatever plan you decide, you know that Minimins is here for youxx
