A tricky few weeks, Back on track and in the 14s

Well it's been a tough few weeks. The week before half term I only lost half a pound and was seriously cheesed off. Managed to keep going till I went to a party in London the first weekend of half term, drunk vodka and attacked the buffet. This then turned in to a continued break till Thursday, when I got back on track and have been fine since. Didn't get weighed last Wednesday, but got weighed last night and had lost all the weight that had gone back on (about 5lbs I think!) plus another 2.5lbs, so am finally in the 14 stones!
Looking back on it I think i have learned a lot.
    1) Don't be a slave to the scales - the numbers aren't everything! Have bought
a size 14 dress from Monsoon to wear at a ball I am going to at the end of June ... and I will get in to it!
    2) Old habits die hard and I will still have to cope with my food addiction at the end of this diet
    3) I am amazingly lucky to have the most supportive Counsellor in Ailsa who has helped me realise how to deal with these situations and understand that losing the weight will not remove the issues I had when i was 19 stone!
    4) When you have a lot of weight to lose on this diet, it can be extremely hard going and sometimes a break can help, make you re-establish goals and you can learn from it.
5)I do have willpower, and one mistake does not mean it is all 'shot to s*it' and if you keep going ... it works.

So, now I'm back on track and nearly half way along my journey. I feel as focused as ever and can hardly believe I'm in the 14 stones (it is over 10 years since I've been there ... and i'm 26!)

Hope my thread has helped some people who are finding it tough, and with each others support we can keep going!

Well done you - and I quite agree with your points.

The one thing that is worrying me about losing all this weight is how will I cope starting to eat again. But I am hoping that my new head will sort me out. I gave up smoking July 2005 and if I can do that and not cave in then I know that if I apply myself I can succeed and keep the weight off.

I haven't been the weight I am since 1990 so there is a great deal of incentive to get down and stay down.

Good Luck on your continued journey.

    xx

Well done JuJu_doll, you have done amazingly to get back on the wagon straight away!

And as for the dress, you will be into a size 14 before then, here's to returning the dress and exchanging it for a 12!

    xx
