It's the Beck Diet Solution by Judith Beck. It's cognitive Behavioural Therapy, it's a 6 week programme thats meant to change how you think about food etc. I'll try anything once, even if just a bit of it sinks in and helps me I'll be happy

    love this thread...well done shanny!
So...ok must confess have read the book all the way through and am practising the excercises daily, but I have started reading each bit again and making sure i'm doing everything properly, having the odd bit of trouble stopping when full...and the exercise things is just not sinking in so far, must work harder on that one.
Eating standing up was a big thing i have stuck to rigidly and reading my ARC's everyday twice a day.
Its really really working for me. Or should I say...i'm really working for ME now!

That's a great endorsement if I ever read one, Lelly.

The Beck Book already worked for me today, when I allowed myself to throw away the dreadful MAM I had made (out of a strawberry tetra) and remake my lunch with a vanilla CD shake.

In the past I would have eaten it and felt very resentful that "my one measly meal was so awful" -- probably decide that I needed compensation and then eaten something ridiculous like a whole cake or tub of ice cream.

But, having read some of Beck, I told myself that it was okay to waste food (especially inedible food) and, rather than eat the wrong things, I would fix myself a better "right thing".

I hope everyone else is finding the book helpful.

    MM
