    very promising id say.
i've had the book about 4 weeks ish now so i kinda worked through it maybe a few chapters at a time, the most vital bit for me was making the cards or notes...i've mentioned this before but i used the notes bit on my phone and set reminders for me to look at them twice a day. i've loads on there and i'm rewriting them and tweaking them here and there so my mind doesn't wander off mid-read.

The Beck Book already worked for me today, when I allowed myself to throw away the dreadful MAM I had made (out of a strawberry tetra) and remake my lunch with a vanilla CD shake.

In the past I would have eaten it and felt very resentful that "my one measly meal was so awful" -- probably decide that I needed compensation and then eaten something ridiculous like a whole cake or tub of ice cream.

But, having read some of Beck, I told myself that it was okay to waste food (especially inedible food) and, rather than eat the wrong things, I would fix myself a better "right thing".

I hope everyone else is finding the book helpful.

    LOL Lelly,

I guess I am "giving myself credit" as I am kind of bragging about it.

It is sooooo hard for me to throw food away --it goes back to that "clearing your plate, starving children rubbish" crammed down our throats my our well-meaning mothers.
Plus, as Terri Hatcher wrote her book Burnt Toast -- mothers will eat the burnt toast and make their children new toast... it is as if we do not deserve better. But we do!

I've got a bright pink note book that I'm writing notes in, along with my index cards that I carry around. I also have reminders set on my phone.

But the one thing I'm really struggling with is giving myself credit!! I've never been one to blow my own trumpet so I find it hard!!!

Oh heck shanny, I hope you didnt think i meant to change the title of this wonderful thread you started...I just meant as a group that are reading beck and commenting on it here could be called Nosh and Becks. Please don't change what you started hun, never meant that

I have spent all evening, since I got in at 7:45, having a bit of chicken, reading all the diaries and posting, catching up on emails and watching Benidorm but I promise that I will read it......starting tomorrow. I've marked where I was up to but might re-read from the start as it has been a couple of weeks since I last looked at it. I have to say though that little bits must have sunk in already as I do feel my brain has shifted slightly. All sorts of trigger foods have come into view over the last few days and they haven't registered on the "musteatcha scale" at all I just think it is hilarious thinking about all the wonderful food that is going to be laid out on the cruise and us sitting there with our bright pink Beck Diet Solution books on our laps hahaha

I love Benidorm, god knows why but it makes me laugh. I've been on a couple of "all inclusives" and the characters on the programme are to be found everywhere on them. Great for people watching. People knocking back the alcohol for breakfast because its free. Not too sure I noticed any swingers though hahaha

A stone lighter than my goal weight, I will look like Benidorm Madge......yuk!!!! She is a good advert for being slightly overweight lol

    Morning All --

I have read through and done the exercises in the Beck book up through Day 3. Am going to read through my ARCs now, then quick shower and "exercise" suit up.

Today, I am supposed to work on credit (Chapter 4, I think).

I skimmed ahead and it is some time before I get to the "exercise" section - but this is where I really could use Beck's help.

I also need some help with the water, so will adapt what I learn about CBT from the Beck book to help implement that change.

Off to Rosemary Conely Zumba in a few and to get weighed. I've not weighed (or been weighed in over two weeks). I am hoping for at least four pounds off. My clothes are looser and I feel lighter -- we'll soon see.

The RC instructor showed me two pounds lighter than last time she weighed me. I will weigh myself tomorrow -- before coffee and water (in my knickers) and adjust my tickers.
