    Beck book Thread for CD Maintenance

    Hello all thought id start a thread on the most empowering diet secret ever.

    i love reading and really hope this is the book that will prepare 'ALL' of us for a successful long life to maintaince. So feel free to post away regarding the Beck Book..

    There is a Beck book thread in the Bring Your Head Inside section but I think we need one in our own maintenance section because we're on VLCDs and the people on the other thread aren't! It's better to be able to chat with people who are doing the book and understand VLCDs! Pretty please mods let us keep our Cambridge Beck Section xxx

    I need to catch up a few days, oopsy! I've been reading my ARC but not the book. In fact I'm going to get it out now, I've got nothing better to do!! By the time I've caught up I should be ready to start Day 14 tomorrow!

    well guess what ive started the book i sat down watching 'this morning' had no interest so reached for Beck..

    I got to page 17 and reached out for the pink highlighter and started highlighting certain sentences/paragraphs.. dont ask why.. i just did.

    then moved onto page 18 this is me.. ' I don't know how to think like a thin person' (this is so true, when i got to goal in 2009 i was slim and thin but didnt know how to choice the right foods and what to eat 'like a thin person either) Very interesting i thought ?

    These 8 bullet points and i have highlighted 6 out of the 8 which i can relate too.. A good start maybe?
    now move onto page 18 .. I read this section twice.. 'Any reasonable diet will work for you if you have the right 'mindset'

    Oh yes I can say for me im starting and i know this because in the next 22 days or so i have my lovely hoilday.. I must put in practice the thinking of a Thin person maybe?

    And my mind has already started to think and picture the lovely foods that i will face day after day.. Page24 The new You... The start of the new shanny..

    I've just done Day 10 - setting reasonable goals. Instead of looking at the big picture, focus on losing the weight 5lbs at a time!! Seems reasonable to me!

    Now working on Day 11 - a tricky one - Differentiate between Hunger, Desire and Cravings!!! Wish me luck..... Think I'll need it for this bit

    I struggle so much with the credit thing!!! It's not that I don't think I deserve credit, I just forget to say "Yay me". I've written yellow post-it's and stuck one on the last page of each days exercise, just to remind me to say "Well done" lol. It's not an easy thing.

    Good idea. I'm glad we've got this thread going, I'm wondering what people think of Days 11,12 & 13. It's about hunger and cravings. I know the difference, but it's a wee bit tricky being in ketosis I'm lucky enough to still feel a bit of hunger at meal times so I can make note of the feeling and how it's different from cravings which I still get massively lol.

    I'm interested to see how everyone else tackles or has tackled these exercises.

    I have a Beck diary on the Beck forum but it is a bit lonely over there so am very happy to see a Beck thread on here. Am on day 8 today but haven't yet read it - will do in a minute when the children have settled down a little (mayhem at the mo).
