Cool SA's 810 and beyond diary a.k.a My daily kick up my own behind ;-)

    So.....

After 11 years of failed attempts and last suppers for the Monday restart that never came, I am finally in the "normal weight" range for my height which I have achieved courtesy of CD sole source.

Contrary to the legions of doubters, I haven't wasted away, I've not become anorexic, all my major organs are intact and I am still very much alive thank you very much. (Oh, by the way, )

Today has been my last day on SS+ and I will be starting my 810 journey tomorrow. My fridge is stocked with chicken, cottage cheese, fat free yoghurt and green veg. Exciting if anything.

I thought I'd keep a diary to help me to stay focussed, as the hard part starts now. I'm feeling a little apprehensive about moving up the CD plans as although I've done a bit of SS+ it's mainly been the 4 packs & milk version rather than "real" food...fwightened !

    Thought for the day:

"I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened."

The journey back to reality starts here...

Your aim must be to have power over food, not the scales.

    Hey Serena! You've done it....WOOHOO!!

Had to come by and wish you well. I'm sure you'll do great at 810 just as you did fabulously well on SS/SS+

Don't stay away from the regular boards now that you're in the coveted 'maintenance' club - your perspective and support would be missed too much!!

    Just one last thing...

    WOOHOO YOU!!!!

Aww bless you Smiley, thank you! I'm not quite at goal yet but I feel like anything I lose from now on is just for me, no health reasons etc anymore. I know I still have to work my way up the CD plans but I still feel very liberated nonetheless.

You'll get there in no time too. xx

Oh hun, thanks but I've got a LOOOOOOOONG way to go! Still I look at what you and a few others have done in such a short period of time (I mean this time last year I would have scoffed at the success some of you have had on CD!...My turn now! lol)

One thing I have to say sitting where I am just now (on the 'real food' side of the fence...albeit just for another 10 days!) is... ENJOY the real food and don't be afraid of it. When I learned I had to come up to 1200/1500 ahead of my op, I let the idea freak me out and I sabotaged my last few weeks of SS. Truth is, I've been able to manage it ok and in fact, being on SS (and then binging on cr*p food when I was in self-destruct mode) meant that I had a new appreciation for good healthy food....THAT was a lightbulb moment!

I used to think a salmon fillet and a salad was 'diet food' before SS and now? It is a wonderful nourishing tasty meal....doh! I don't know what I was so scared about before starting with real food! Double DOH!

Now, I'm looking forward to getting back to SS with renewed vigor, and all the inspiration of wonderful people like you who show me that it really can be done.

    So well done you!!

    Cheers m'dear!

Thanks for your lovely comments, you are always so kind to me xx.

I am sooo sad, I spent yesterday writing out a list of recipes, lasagne was already on there but shepherds pie sounds damn good so that will be added to the list!

    Day 1 done

Well, I successfully got through day one by the skin of my teeth...was visited by the sabotage fairy and was perilously close to thinking "sod CD I can lose the last few lbs by myself" and submerging myself in a huge binge...

The silly thing is 810 is not a lot different to SS+ really, it's just tough knowing that I kinda have an excuse to eat more this week and blame any poor loss on moving up the plans - tut tut, that kind of thinking is just plain dumb.

Anyway, have now royally kicked myself up the ass (I know - already ) and will make sure that tomorrow I am in a better place emotionally.

    Thought for the day:

"You don't need to look for excuses in order to justify doing the right thing, only for doing the wrong thing."
