Red face Newbie and scared!

Hello all,

Just wanted to introduce myself and say Hi to you hardened Cambridge dieters. I started yesterday and am just over half way into day 2. It's hard going but in order to keep myself positive, I look at the threads on this site and soak up the good news stories.

I was so hungry yesterday and although I am so excited about being thinner again, at the moment it does feel like I have absolutely nothing to look forward to after work. I am a fairly good and creative cook (which is how I put on 2.5 stone) and so mealtimes now are a little dull. I also cook for my hubby still so my willpower is currently proving more of a success than I thought.

I made ham and eggs for my two doggies yesterday and even that looked more appealing that I could have ever imagined.

Anyhow, onward and upwards, I am counting the days to the first weigh-in as I hope that will spur me on even further.

By the way, apart from a headache last night, I have been feeling ok up to now. When do the 'horrible' symptoms kick-in. I am manic about getting bad breath!

Good luck to you all and thanks for the very interesting and entertaining reads!

Regards
Pxx

Good Luck!

Hi Pinkyjay,

Nice to hear from someone who also started yesterday - hard isn't it?? I am sorry to hear you have had to cope with BBQ aroma's, that must have been torture! My hubby (who doesn't really cook apart from the odd Spag Bol), has said that he wants to diet too (not anything as drastic as Cambridge) so I am making him calorie controlled meals. I put him a baked potato in the oven tonight and whilst this would not normally be my food of choice, it smelled gorgeous and in my head I was eating every mouthful with him! Sad isn't it?

I am desperate to try and keep going even though it is the hardest diet I have ever tried, because we are off to Sorrento in Sept for our 15th Wedding Anniversary and I would like to go feeling a bit better about myself.

I hope you keep on the straight and narrow too and I wish you the best of luck! Please feel free to drop me a line if you need any moral support although the forum in its own right has kept me going (mainly because I have spent most evenings reading it on the laptop which takes my mind off food)! I was worried about how much I would miss the wine but I have to say, it hasn't even crossed my mind because I am missing food too much.

Good luck and keep in touch.
