Cartwoman kicking her fat gamer booty

    Hi there,
for those interested in my cd-journey I'll tell you just a few bits and bobs about me:
    • 32 years old
    • Dutchie living in the UK
    • Married
    • Incredible geek; I love wathcing Dr Who, Grimm, Buffy, SatC, Star Wars, etc
    • Doing SS for the 4th time; but this will be the final time
    • Lost 5 stone before and determined to do this again!
    • I want to loose 4 stone before 13th of April so I can wear a pretty dress to my friend's wedding
    • I love scarfs
    • I draw to keep myself busy and in November I always participate in NaNoWriMo
    • I'm an avid gamer; I own a ps3, but I'm mostly a pc player (been playing wow for years now and I adore Mass Effect) Gaming will also be a big part of this diary since it distracts me from wanting to eat
    • I love making lists ;p

Right, so that's a tidbit about me.
Today is day 1 and I've just finished my first shake of the day: cookies and cream. I'm ok with the flavour. It's not mind blowing but I like it enough to order it again. I also have a big bottle of water on my desk and a steaming cup of tea. I think that for the rest of the day I will have a porridge in the evening (apple & cinnamon) and a choc mint shake. Not a fan of choc mint, but my cdc accidentally put it in the order. So I'm not going to be difficult and just drink it
My plans for today are set! I'll be playing loads of Mass Effect 1 (just starting over) and I need to write 2000 words for my novel challenge (NaNoWriMo). Eep!! That's a lot of words. Ow and I have to build a desk with my OH... I can see this ending badly though.

Who ever is reading this journal of my journey, I hope you're having a good cd-day!

Hi there and welcome to the boards, its s great Place here for help and support.
The first few days are the worst but the results far out weigh the bad points.
I love the mint choc shake but have only ever had it hot ( it's like a options hot chocolate ) I also love the porridge. Great if you want to feel your eating something.
Take each day as it comes, I personally found it very exciting at the start and was lucky not to have any negative effects x x x

Day one and two are done. I knew day 2 was going to be a challenge since I would be at work for the entire day. It was hard at times, but I just stuck to loads of tea and water and it helped. When I came home we had to move the furniture around to make more room and that took up most of my time. I almost forgot about being hungry.

So today is day 3 and I already notice I have breath from hell. I have promised myself I would not jump on the scales and just wait until my cdc comes around on Tuesday. I'm just hoping for a nice first loss. Today on the menu: banana shake, choc tetra and a spicy tomato soup. (btw not really liking the vegetable soup any more :/)

Day 4 done! I'm feeling a bit better. No more headaches and the fatigue is going. Still a bit tired now and again and I am getting a bit sick after drinking water/tea. However, I do feel that it's getting easier. I miss eating something solid and I have decided that next week I'm not ordering any soups or porridges any more. I used to love them, but I can't stand the taste now.
So far I'm happy and proud of myself that I stayed 100% for these 4 days and let me tell that it was hard today. It was Charity day at work which means cakes and pastries at work. They also sold spring rolls and of course everyone was eating around me. I became a serial sniffer, but that was it. In the end it didn't bother me too much. I think I felt sorry for myself for 2 minutes and after that I just thought about how much money cd is costing me and I wasn't going to ruin it for a lousy spring roll. I also want to prove to some people I can do this, just because they have been dissing this diet. I want to rub it in their faces when I'm happy with my new weight. Not very nice, but neither were their judgemental comments.

I know it's really bizarre but I had a happy moment this morning: I could actually go to the toilet without help of any laxatives or stuff like that. I've always had serious bowl issues, but on CD it gets even worse. I decided this time to drink even more then normal and go for buckets of tea and coffee. So it was nice to see that after 3 days of no bowl movements I could finally go this morning. I know it's weird that I actually have to keep track of this, but I really don't want to get sick like I did last time. I was in far too much pain :< So Yay!!! I guess

Today is a short day at work. I could actually catch up a bit on sleep even if this diet is making me want to sleep over 10 hours now I'll be having a choc shake, a choc tetra and apple porridge today. Almost Tuesday and hopefully I'll be having a nice loss. I'm aiming for half a stone this week and then 3lbs every week after that *fingers crossed*

Sounds like you're doing really well! With you on wanting to track, ahem, 'movements' - it can be so important on a VLCD. I seem to remember resorting to using a code on an old Minimins diary of mine - I think a Christmas tree meant success...

How's your NanoWriMo effort coming along? I did Camp NanoWriMo in August (and was a winner, LOL). Would've loved to have had a go this month but just wan't in the right place for so many reasons!

Ugh my nanowrimo is way behind at the moment. I didn't have my pc for a few days since we were moving the pc desks around and it took a while before we got it all sorted :/ Now I'm just not in the right mindset at the moment. Hopefully I'll get back into it after the weekend

Hey hun, seems like you are doing well so keep up the good work. The last year I have got into gaming and have now adopted my husbands 360 as my own although I only tend to play Arkham Asylum and City, need to branch out me thinks but i'm finding them a good distraction.

By writing utter tosh. Not my best work, sadly. I made sure to write my 1667 words a day (31 days in August so the daily average is lower). But it really was a struggle at times. I was determined to do it though. I think another time I'd do some work on my characters before starting, to make sure I'd got their motivation sorted, because I found that by the time I was about 20,000 words in, I had no idea how they were going to behave. And as I'm a 'character drives plot' sort of writer, that didn't work out so well! I write romance mainly, so there were some gratuitous purple prose sex scenes making up the word count, LOL.

Now, let me guess - you write sci-fi right?

I know I shouldn't care too much about the story not being amazing and just get in with writing that amount. Editing can be done later

LOL, I find it a real struggle to just write - I'm always editing as I write. That was one of the reasons I did Nano, to see if I could let go of my inner editor. I did sometimes but I have to confess there were days when it took me several hours to write 1,000 words.

Fantasy or horror, eh? I'm not sure I could do horror.

I have to admit to making some of the sex scene's a bit more lengthy than the other ones Perhaps it's also more for my enjoyment. lol

Horror is not too bad to write, but I've always loved scary things ^^ all in all it's a good distraction from the hunger. Bad thing is that today I'm feeling really peckish for bad things D: But I've been good so far!

I've been so busy today that I didn't even have my first meal until 1pm I made a warm cookies and cream shake and it was really nice! I'm so nervous about tomorrow. I really want to have lost a nice amount for my first weigh inn. 4 to 5 stone seems like an endless amount (especially if I look at it as pounds: 70 :/) so a nice headstart would help. I'm still not sure what to do over x-mas. I was planning on doing ss the whole way through, but thinking about being at my in-laws for 2 days where everyone is having yummie meals makes me a bit sad. I guess I'd have to think about it closer to the time and see how far I am with the diet. I have 5 weeks until then and I might have lost a nice amount, but we'll see. Anyone else feeling a bit pressured by x-mas?
