Time to get serious!

Well hello!

Over the last 2 years I have gone from about 16 and a half stone down to my lowest last June at 13st8 with on and off slimming world, which crept back up to 14st over the last few months, then over Christmas I have not stopped eating - I was 14st 5 a couple of days ago when I weighed myself :-(

But honestly, I am sick of eating, I am really looking forward to starting Cambridge - no longer having to calculate what exactly i need to eat, planning -ahhh - that was my downfall - I know sw inside out but with long working days and so little time, all it took would to have a headache one night and not cook something up - messing up my food plans, for me to jump off of plan straight away with the limited choices available at work and disorganisation being my excuse.

I'm coming up 28 and have never experienced being slim. I was all against this sort of plan but now I just feel I need to take a break from regular eating, hopefully banish the bad habits, re-set the system and start over. get rid of that AWFUL habit of "i'm bored" = I'll eat - it's like an instant reaction.

I'm meeting my Cambridge Consultant Sunday and starting on 1st Jan (how cliché!) and I am SO excited!

Received an email from my cc last night recommending I bring about £60 with me since I might want extra bits from the first meeting... And she only takes cash... I live my life on plastic so am already worrying about how I can afford this... But I really want/need to do it so hopefully ill find some.. A day of eBay listing today perhaps!

Hi Crazydiamond,

I completely agree with your 1st post in regards to being against VLCD's and I myself have tried pretty much all the other main stream plans - Weight watchers and slimming world etc and even though many people have a lot of success for me the planning and preparation were a huge downfall as well as getting home from work then having to go out again with the children at 7pm! My CD leader will come to my home to weigh me which is so much better.

I do understand regards the cost of the whole plan as I do stress over the cost element as not only am I doing the CD I am also using hypnosis!! however I have decided that the end result will be worth the cost, if it means I can happily look at my reflection and not be constantly pulling my top down or my trousers up as they have rolled down over my belly lol

xx

I completely agree with it being worth the cost - I think I'd rather be poor and skinny rather than not-quite-as-poor and overweight lol. VERY much looking forward to it though, I hope that doesn't ware off to quickly!

I have been thinking about my motivation, and so here is 10 reasons why I am doing this...

1. I've never been slim before, I want to know how it feels to look good in clothes

2. I have an unhealthy addiction to food, mainly eating when i am bored or distracted, I want to take a break from regular eating and reset this.

3. I'd love to be able to look good in swimwear, especially those swimsuits with the cut outs on the side which give you ridiculous tab lines!

4. I always assumed I'd be slim eventually but never stuck to doing anything about it. Now I'm only 2 years off of the dreaded fat and 30

5. I feel crap, carrying all this weight is uncomfortable!

6. I am in a long distance relationship and won't see my partner for at least another 2 months (maybe even 4 if I can't afford a trip in feb) and I want to see the shock on his face when I look so different!

7. I want to be able to buy clothes in any store, ie the ones who only go up to a size 16 yet the sizing is so tiny that actually means 12!

8. I don't want any weight related health issues, I am already prone to indigestion.

9. I want thighs that don't meet in the middle and upper arms that don't hang

10. To not have to dress to disguise whichever part is looking biggest right now, constant wardrobe dilemmas

They sound like 10 brilliant reasons and probably similar to most of us on here! If you ever get tempted to stray or struggling a little, just look back at those 10 reasons! Good luck! :)

Brilliant list of reasons - I can identify with nearly all of those! Hope you get on well with your CWPC today x

Met with my consultant yesterday, bought pretty much one of each flavour of everything! The biggest dilemma is what is going to be my first choice tomorrow... So excited to get cracking!

Omg though, got on her scales and was 4lbs heavier than last week when I weighed myself. Thought it must be different scales, nope, same when I weighed myself at home! That's over half a stone in the last month - I am a disgusting binger!!! So.. Starting weight now 14st9lbs!

Also been taking my "before" photos, not nice, hope I can post them one day and feel good that that's no longer me!! Bleuugggh, roll on day 1!

Day 1 is here!! Yay! Not feeling hungry yet so am saving my first shake until I feel a bit more peckish. For now a fruit tea is enough.

In addition to my 10 reasons I am also going to set some goals along the way, so here's goal #1...

6 months ago I finally got around to getting properly fitted for a bra, I bought 2 lovely wonderbras with a 36 band which fitted lovely- , they don't fit any more!!!

Goal #1 - get back into the wonderbras!! :)

bleuugghhh! So I'm almost through day 1. Been feeling pretty crap since about lunchtime - but its that familiar strange feeling in my stomach that i've had before when embarking on weight loss, i usually attribute it to change of diet, so it's most likely that. I guess my stomach isn't used to having so little in it, especially after the last few weeks I've had!

Had a choc tetra for breakfast, it was ok, and if i'm honest a couple of hours later i was enjoying re-tasing it when i burped (sorry thats gross, but true) it was like oohhh tasteeeee! Then a cookies and cream shake for lunch, it was again ok, but i'm not sure i'd rush back to have it again - I worry since I have seen so many people raving about these two that this might be the best it gets?

Dinner is sat in front of me and I am struggling to finish it - chicken and mushroom soup - i'm not a fan of packet soups at the best of times, so yeah, bleuugghhh!

But, almost done it, almost completed a day, a few mouthfuls more and i will have had 3l of water, my only major error today being 2 large cups of twinings fruit tea - didn't realise they are a no no, never the less, it's day one so no damage done :)

Soon I will take my weary (slightly heady) self off to bed, proud to have one day under my belt.

Morning! So before I went to bed last night I did a test on the ketostix, expecting nothing, but had a trace result! So this morning I couldn't resist, tested again and got "faible" so quite quickly I'm heading for ketosis! will test again tonight and see what it brings!

Day 2 today, and first day at work on plan, I work in a marketing department for a food retailer - theres always something to eat here so wish me luck!

Day 2 almost done. Had apple and cinnamon porridge for breakfast - I liked it a lot to start off but gradually it made me feel a bit sick (I'm finding that with most things so fat though!)

Spicy tomato soup for lunch, it was ok, oh how I hope I can find something I actually like!

Currently tucking into a butterscotch shake blended with ice, nice to have some texture in my mouth! Again it's ok, is it me or does everything taste the same with an added hint of whatever flavour?

Weirdly not actually felt hungry! Slightly jealous of the quality street being eaten at work today but stuck to water and peppermint tea.

Already had 3l to drink, and that doesn't include the extra ice in my shake!

So after I wrote the last post my parents come in eating the nicest pizza, and also go on about how lovely it is! So cruel! Never the less, day two complete! Hoping to shift the headache tomorrow!

Been reading yor diary Hun well done :)!
A little tip for you if you don't like the soup you can make it into crisps? Or tetras into ice cream? Mgbe you might like them then?
Also who said ou can't drink fruit tea? Your allowed all teas ( I have black and some normal) herbal teas are good and boosts water intake!
How you feeling today?
Once flavour I absolutely love (don't know if you picked it up) was oriental chilli spice yummy yum Yums!
Good luck

Hi CrazyD,

You are doing great, well done for the Pizza with parents ordeal! well my consultant came to mine tonight and I have found out I weigh 15st 3lbs EEEEEKKKKKK:eek: do not think I reached that in pregnancy so it has given me the freatest kick up my behind ever!

I am starting tomoz and I have not gone for any of the soups as my friend did Cambridge (with very good results) and I once tried her soup and it made me feel quite sick so I just stuck with the shakes for now and a couple of tetra's for dinner times at work.

Im slightly nervous regards t the bad breath but he said I needed buy mouth mint spray? not allowed chewing gum, i think its possible some consultants vary as my friend was allowed coke zero and gum and I'm not?? oh well!!

Anyway keep up the good work :)

Hi scott, thabks for reading, I tend to go on a bit but that's the blogger in me, and it keeps me sane if anything!

Ah see, when I say i dont like them, I wouldn't say I dislike them either, I think it just takes some getting used to, I've never been a fan of packet foods, I always cook from scratch making everything myself, so it's a bit of a shock to the taste buds if anything! I quite enjoyed blending my shake with ice last night (as much as i could) apart from the fact I now had a pint of shake to finish! Next time not so much Ice me thinks!

I actually have oriental chilli soup for lunch today, so I will report back later - maple and pecan porridge for breakkie and prob a tetra (I might try strawberry) for dinner!

Thanks maximus, yeah I know how you feel on the weigh in front, I've been hovering arounf 14st for months so almost had a heart attack weighing in at 14st9!!! I was 13.8 back in june, so until I get under 14st again I won't feel like I have achieved anything - i know thats being hard on myself but its how my mind is working right now!

I worry about the bad breath thing too, but i'm thinking peppermint tea may help?

Oh and Scott, In reply to your question on fruit tea - I read it on here, and it made sense since I think I read "herbal tea" in the book and fruit tea is technically different.

When I queried if I could have hot water with lemon, my CWPC was like "noooo . .lots of fructose" whicg is what triggered me to chek out the fruit teas - which obv have fustose too. When I said I'd stick to herbal then, she told me to also be careful making sure there is no sort fo sugar or glycogen in them - which is why im currently sticking to peppermint as I know I'm sage! I only really have got drinks when I'm bored or feeling a bit cold, might try the dip and out black tea that was mentioned to you as well!

So, today.... I woke up feeling good! no headache or dry mouth! the 4l obviously did the trick so I will try and keep to that qty a day for water. checked my ketostix again - still "faible" - but since there are ketones in there does that mean I Am in ketosis? If so, that happened pretty fast! and shoudl I expect the reading to go up or is it fine as-is? have been weiging myself every morning, it's pretty good, although a bad habit to be in I feel!

OK, so I'm not hungry at all, and its WEIRD!! i don't know whether it is just because I am so focused or what!

The cost is actually what is keeping me focused at the moment - I'm not putting that much money down the drain!!
