    Hey everyone, I'm James, or Jim, whichever takes your fancy.

    Had a crazy start to adult life, a number of years eating rubbish, drinking too much and moving too little. Peaked at nearly 26 stone some years ago, have lurched from one diet to another with varying degrees of success but still far too big. At 37 years of age it's time to get it sorted.

    Started CD SS 11 days ago at 20st 11lbs (with my shoes on!)

    Had my first weigh-in on Thursday last week at 20st 2lbs (a 6 day week)

    So far I haven't slipped and haven't struggled too much, although days 3 and 4 were a bit rough. Here to keep a track of my progress and possibly cry for help if I find myself struggling.
    No target weight yet as I am a naturally broad guy who considers the BMI scale to be twaddle. I will keep going until I find my "fighting weight" but as I have never been there I don't know what it is!!

    BMI suggests I should be aiming for 12st but I know some 12st guys and I (and my CDC) think I'd never get there, I'm just not built that way.

    Anyhow, the journey has begun, let's see where it leads.

    Thank you! It's starting to go quickly now; I think it's just a matter of it becoming routine really.

    I plan to stay on SS until either the 7th of 14th of December, then I'll be going back on 4th January; I have a Christmas holiday with my in-laws in Slovakia so I can't really stay on plan having never met them before.

    Well owing mainly to a 15 hour a day work schedule and a fairly mad Christmas I have not been around, but I have not been messing around either - still on track and dropping the pounds. Getting excited, next weigh in should see me at my lightest in living memory!
