Smile Newbie straight on Step 2: 47lbs to goal

Hello everyone, I'm starting the diet tomorrow - feel a bit apprehensive about it but glad I'm making a step towards much needed weightloss.

I saw saw my counsellor yesterday to get weighed and to pick up my packs, I have already had a porridge pack and will have a soup later for dinner. The reason I'm not starting properly today is a dear friend is in town and we have had a lunch date in the diary for ages so it will be a mid-day version of the last supper, so am going to enjoy it!

Hi. Enjoy you "last supper" lunch, and good luck! Remember if you find it hard in the first week, it does get easier as time passes. I've finished week 2 and I'm perfectly happy just eating the products and 1 small meal. Once you get in the mind set and keep focused it's very easy to stick to.

Hi guys! Thanks for posting - makes it easier to know I'm not alone.

In the interests of complete honesty I have already had a blip, last night I got hazy drunk (the state where you think you have lost your phone/house-keys but thankfully I hadn't!) and this morning I felt well dodgy but managed to get into work. I had half a croissant which so hit the spot.

I'm now having the tomato soup which is not too bad, I might also have a porridge pack for 'afters' ... This evening I will get some fish and spinach for my small dinner and have a chocolate shake for supper.

I'm looking forward to feeling better tomorrow and getting on track! I am such a booze hound :/

Hi guys! Haha I am exactly the same when it comes to booze. I went out on Friday and ended up drinking about 7 cocktails! My plan was to just have 4 vodka and diet cokes but obviously that didn't work. So who knows how many calories I had from them. Anyway, I managed to go straight back on plan the next day and have done ever since and I still lost 5.6lb this week! So as long as you stick to the plan the rest of the time, it seems you can get away with the occasional boozy occasion or thai feast Don't worry, just get right back on track and stay focused on your goal weight and why you want to get there. xx

Ha Selphie, we are definitely two peas in a pod when it comes to a night out on the tiles and subsequent alcohol consumption! Thank god I feel better today.

Well, day 2 is now underway, I had a porridge for breakfast (I much prefer the apple and cinnamon one) and a leek and potato soup for lunch (I liked the spicy tomato one better) and tonight I will have turkey and broccoli small meal with a strawberry shake for afterwards.

Am fluffing down the water and being able to have a few cups of tea really helps to get me through the working day, my job can be pretty full on at times.

It's all still a bit 'new' so am getting my head around having the meal replacements instead of food. I was due to go out tonight but have postponed it as I don't want to go off track, was planning to go to Nandos for a salad with 3 chicken wings which I think is 210 cals but I don't feel ready just yet!

Hi Lynn. Well done on surviving day 2. The first few days were really hard, but once you've done the first week it get really easy. I actually would rather have a shake than real food now because I know it's going to help me lose weight, and I've got used to the taste so they actually taste quite nice now. I think my favs are the chocolate shake and most of the soups are pretty good. One trick I use is to blend the shakes with some crushed ice. It turns them into a smoothy or thick milkshake and feels more filling. Also add a spoonful of coffee to vanilla or chocolate for a latte or mocha
Well done for resisting Nandos, I think that was wise. Better to leave it for a week or 2 so you can get used to the meal replacements first. Honestly, after the first few days it becomes a habit and also once you start seeing results it will keep you motivated. I've lost almost a stone now in just over 2 weeks so it is definitely worth it!
    Good luck!
