:sigh: So I got chubby...

Hi there! I'm Sara, I'm 26 and I am a foodaholic.
I have just started the sole source diet and now on my eighth day. I have gone through most of the unwelcome symptoms and had an afternoon nap on one of the days to black it all out. I actually liked that I felt so bad those first three days. It told me something was happening to my body and that I was detoxing. So the worse I felt physically the better I felt mentally! Very odd.
I have tried quite a few diets but seemed to have fallen off. I feel really positive about this one though because it cuts you off completely from food so there's no real calorie counting or working out what you can and can't have.
I have had real ups and downs and figured if I am really going to do this- I need to join something to help me. I read a lot of posts from people and different links and everyone on here seems amazingly supportive and lovely which is what I need to get involved with.
I am currently between a size 16 and 18 dress and would ideally like to be a 12.
I need to lose about 4 1/2 stone.
I feel more motivated with this diet than any I have other done and look forward to reading about other peoples experiences.
My first proper weigh in is Wednesday Morning where I will start to set up my weekly "figures" - hah! See what I did there?
I look forward to chatting with you guys and feel free to check my diary whenever. I am going to have another look at other peoples now!
Sara
PS. Who else has a mouth AS DRY AS A DESERT??

Hey Sara :) Welcome and good luck!! Sounds like your in soo the right frame of mind for this, so positive! Keep up the good work, let us know how your first WI goes :)

Hi Miss Wilma!
I will do. Your first weigh in looks brilliant!

Hi I'm only on day 2! I found yesterday my first day horrible! But I am determined to stick to plan and get skinny...
I'm only having the shakes as wasn't to sure in the soups or porridges as they may make me want actual food!!
X

Hey Char
It's really funny that everyone has certain days that are the hardest. A lot of people say their third is the worst but mine was the 6th and 7th. I felt really miserable without food but have come out of it and still motivating myself. I think it's a case of reminding yourself why you're doing it and what life will be like in the future. I am now on day 9 and honestly didn't think I could go this long without food.
I prefer the shakes to most things but I do have a soup once a day because it makes me feel like I am contacting a little hot food and it's quite comforting. I have just stuck to shakes and soups so far.
Keep going with it. You might find you feel a bit ill on the first few days but that shows something is happening with your body. Keep positive! We can do this!

Hi Sara
Well done on getting to day 9!
Day 3 and I woke up feeling like I couldn't face drinking another shake! But (I know I probably shouldn't) I weighed myself and I've lost 5lb already so that made me make up my breakfast shake! Which today is mango but not liking it atal so think il need to drink this one as quick as possible!!!
I just have one problem that I have a family day out and meal tomorrow with family who have travelled a long way to visit so I'm going to speak to my CDC and ask if it will do much damage to have a small meal either veg and meat or salad and meat!

How much have you lost so far? Do you weight yourself atal or just go by your weekly weigh ins? X

Hey Char,
After day 3 and 5lbs loss is really good! Keep going. Stop having the mango if you don't like it. I didn't know there was one! I have just discovered the chocolate and it taste like coco pops milk so I really like that and the vanilla is nice. Everyones tastes are different though! I don't eat the porridge as I am not keen on porridge. Rememebr you can do different things with the shakes and look up recipes if you are struggling with just shakes.
See what your CDC says about the meal - I am sure a high protein meal will be okay! I don't know if that'll make it harder - I have found completely cutting off has helped me more.
My first weigh in was a loss of 7.5lbs

Hi Sara.
Just saw your first week's loss. Huge well done. I bet you are delighted! It just goes to show that if you stick to it, it WILL work!

I have only found a couple of products that I don't like but the worst of all has to be the tomato soup. BLEH! It's a bit of an insult calling it tomato soup if you ask me!

Anyway,I just dropped by to say well done and keep going!

Hi Poko!

Thanks! I haven't tried the tomato soup yet as I bought one and made it wrong! So I am going to try it again. I have heard it's not very nice. I am loving the chocolate milkshakes though. They have really kept me going!!

Well done on your first week's weigh in! Keep going :) Also yes my mouth is constantly dry, it seems the more you drink the dryer it gets haha!

Hi Sara. Well done on your first weigh in that is great. My first weigh in was a loss of 6lb. I am the same size as you and have the same goal of size 12. Am starting day 11 today - feeling positive and happy to have found someone else suffering with desert mouth!! Isn't it amazing, never had such a dry mouth and yet am downing over 3 litres if water a day (somedays I feel like I am drowning myself lol).

Ha! Clairey you are right. I feel like a hot water bottle when I have drunk all that water!! I have really struggled today because I have twice been in a situation where people are eating amazing food which smells great. I am hoping I will get over that eventually!

Yes! There is no getting away from it! And my tongue is fluffy. It's really weird.

Missfortune, I found this was a really good way of getting into it. Especially if you are having a wobbly day! It's good because we are all in the same boat and having similar problems!

Hi Sara, keep going and try some other products, I've pretty much tried then all now and I now know what I like! I'm doing SS+, I have apple&cinnamon porridge for breakfast, either oriental, veg or chicken and mushroom soup for lunch, a 200cals meal with the family and then I have my lemon yoghurt bar (a little taste of heaven) at 8pm and I drink loads of water (1l flavoured with the berry powder) and flavoured teas and coffees! It works for me and I feel like it suits the time I have it and seems like a normal diet now!

I get the dry mouth and fuzzy tongue and I always feel cold and no one else in the house does! Headaches seem to come and go, don't enjoy them but I pop some pills and drink more water!!

I think this is the best diet I've ever done and I'm feeling good! :)

Hiya Nomorecakes. Sounds like you are well into the swing of it. I know what you mean about being cold, I am getting moaned at cos I keep putting the heating on!! Day 13 for me today on ss. I am feeling great most of the time. Waking up really early full of energy though it does wear of by the afternoon. Looking forward to weighing in tomorrow. This week coming will not be great because I have a lunch date and so will be eating proper food (quite a scary thought) and a hen night so will be eating and drinking!! Part of the reason I love this plan is not having to think about food and am lucky enough that hubby sorts himself and the children out - I have only come into contact with food once in nearly 2 weeks!!

Hi Clairey92, that's the hardest part of the diet socialising! I've got a 40th at the end of May and don't know what to do! I've been out for meals with the girls and I've had chicken and salad and a diet coke and that works but alcohol is another matter! I cook all the meals here for my hubby and children and that hasn't bothered me and as I'm doing SS+ I have a 200cals evening meal with them which helps!!

It's tough but we can do it!!!

Hi girls how is it going?

I see you're chatting about days coming up and how to deal with it! I have my sister's wedding and a dinner before the day as well. I think a prawn/chicken salad is gonna have to be the choice. I haven't eaten a thing and am worried that the moment I have food again I won't be able to go back! What a challenge! It sounds like you guys are having the same symptoms. I am cold too but haven't had a bad headache since those first three days.
It's now day 16 for me and get weighed tomorrow!
Nomorecakes, I am going to buy some bars I think. I am now really fed up of the soups and just feel rank drinking them. I may try a potato and leek though. I have also been on the herbal teas but I always find they smell nicer than they taste!
It sounds like you are all in good spirit so that's good! I felt miserable two days ago but feeling good again.
You feel really up and down on this I find! Glad we're all keeping at it!

Hi Saravic. Going well thank you. Had my second weigh in yesterday and was very pleased to have lost another 5lb making 11lb in total in two weeks. This is motivation to keep with it. Am out for lunch tomorrow which I think will be ok. My consultant said I was still to have 3 sachets even if I have a salad because otherwise I wont get all the nutrients needed. For me this was great news as it means I can come home from lunch and carry on my usual routine of shakes/soups. Hopefully that will stop me from going off track. Does that make sense? Good luck with your weigh in tomorrow. Let us know how you get on. X
