Hi all,

I've been a lurker on the forum for a while and finally decided to take the plunge into the Cambridge Weight plan. In the past 5 years, I have crept up from 9st 7lb and a size 10 to 14st 4lb and a size 16-18. At just under 5ft, my BMI is 39!

I met my consultant today (who was just lovely!) and I'm all set to go. Unfortunately, I under-estimated how difficult it would be and after a chocolate shake, a chicken and mushroom soup and 1 litre of water, I caved! I completely binged and at 5pm this evening after many tears, I ate:

4 slices of brown toast and lurpak
A Laughing cow cheese dipper
Salt and Vinegar Walkers
Twirl
Toffee Crisp

Talk about a binge!

After this (and more tears about caving!) my husband took some 'before' pictures for me in my underwear. I was completely embarrassed. In my head, I look much smaller than I do in the pictures. I guess that's part of the problem (that and never, ever looking in full length mirrors!)

Instead of thinking, 'I'll start again tomorrow', I decided to start again from that moment. I've drank another litre of water and haven't eaten anything since my binge. Normally, I would have had dinner by now, some more chocolate and probably another packet of crisps :sigh:

Back on the wagon now and I don't intend to come off again. Onwards and upwards :D

Hi from N Yorks,

Don't be so hard on yourself. That's hardly a binge too..want to see mine. So start again. You have been nice and slim before and my friend has just lost 3 stone and so it's so doable.

Do one day at a time for now and come on here lots.

Thanks so much Liz :) Your comment has really cheered me up :D

I stuck to my plan and didn't eat a thing after my binge last night :) Went to bed and watched House of Cards with my hubby and despite the intense hunger pangs at 12am, I fell asleep ok.

Woke up today and decided to not have any shakes until as late on as possible. I tend to get hungry at night so having my shakes as late as possible is the way to go I think :)

So far, I've drank at least half a litre and I'm having my first shake. I'm having half a chocolate tetra, topped up with water. I figured if I half my shakes, I may well do a lot better. The thought of having 6 half shakes a day instead of 3 large ones makes me feel better.

Hope you're doing ok Liz?

xx

Hi Squinky,

I've just caved too, what was I thinking? Feeling very annoyed with myself! Well done for you getting back on it though. I'm going to have an early night and have weird cheese dreams. I don't even like cheese particularly!

Grrr

Oh KC! Don't worry too much :D Can't have binged as badly as I did! Haha! I found the key to it was just to move on. I decided not to eat afterwards and skip my 3rd shake and I felt so much better about it.

My hubby (who is SO supportive) has gone away on conference for 3 days so it's just me and the little one. Hubby made her food for me all weekend but I'm doing it myself now.

This diet has really made me think about all of our eating habits though. My 6 year old scoffs chocolate and crisps and her dinners are usually something I chuck in the oven from the freezer. I feel awful looking back at it all. So today she had her normal cereal for breakfast and yoghurt for snack. For lunch I made her ham sandwiches on brown bread (instead of white) with grapes and strawberries. Dinner was home-made ham and pepper frittatas with peas. She LOVED it! I'm so glad I chose this route. It's really making me look at food as a whole picture for my whole family :)

Today has gone really well, as did yesterday. 100% on track yesterday and same so far today. I've had my chocolate tetra (split in half with added water) and have just had half of my soup portion too. So 7:15pm and I still have 1 and half shakes left :D

I have had to flavour my water with some sugar-free squash though, I just couldn't hack the taste of water any longer!

Hello Squinky
Well done for sticking to plan. You are heading in the right direction. I am going to see my cdc tonight...eeek.. to start back on plan after a long break. I will need all the help I can get. I reckon I am about the same weight as you, although I haven't weighed myself for a while. Good luck with you're journey

Well done hun, you sound like your doing great, stay strong and when you have your weigh in it will all be worth it.xx. Keep up the fantastic work.xx

Keep going! great to hear you are sticking to the plan) I add flavour to my water with the help of some lemon juice. I also do not like water( But lemon is a good solution! Try it) Good luck!

Sorry I haven't been on in quite a few days. I kept forgetting!

First weigh in was amazing. I lost 8lbs and a total of 5inches! YAY!

Struggling now though. I'm not hungry and the shakes and water drinking is fine (LOVING the Cambridge water flavouring - Sunshine Orange) just feeling a little bit rubbish atm. Normally I would comfort eat but not this time!

Hope everyone else is ok? xxx
