    Talking Goodstuff is BACK.

    Hello world

I am back after falling off the slimming word wagon ages ago and never managing to get back on it. I have had some success with VLCDs before and lost about a stone - I gave up after three weeks though. This time I am sticking with it to goal. Speaking of which....

    Goody's Goal

    • To wear the 75 % of my wardrobe that no longer fits me! I have lots of beautiful clothes that have not fitted since I got married two years ago. This means I need to lose 3 stone. I am not unrealistic I know I can maintain that weight as I did it for years. A happy healthy size 12 - 14.

    Mini goals:

    • Lose 7lbs
    • Get into the 14 stone bracket
    • Get to 13 st 7lbs
    • Get to 13st

Am currently on Day 6 - first weigh in tomorrow. Been doing SS+/ 810 Not feeling hungry as am well in ketosis but am missing eating! God I love eating.....that is how I ended up this way ! Ha!
I am going to write instead of eat though. Hope to be at goal (or near as damnit) in 10 weeks in time for a friend's wedding.

Quick word to report a win. Had friends to stay last night and they all had curry whilst I had my shake. The whole "not being hungry" thing about ketosis is really helping with the will power. Long may it continue. 1st weigh-in tonight, bit pissed off as also TOM so loss will not be as big as i feel i deserve. Boo hoo. Hopefully means next week's will be a stonker. Hope everyone is feeling strong. Remember it is onlya few weeks/months out of your lives. Stick with it!

So got weighed and have lost 7lbs. Happy with that as was only expecting 4. Had a lovely salad with a finest burger to celebrate. So have had an 810 day. Lovely. Planning on doing one of those a week to make things bearable. Hope everyone else is getting on ok. Am feeling really positive. Holding that thought ladies!!!

Am still in the zone. Have had 3 shakes and may have a pot of cottage cheese whilst I watch Orange is the new Black tonight. Husband is at work tonight and this is my danger time - normally when he is on lates I would order a take away or just have cheese on toast followed by all sorts of specially purchased crap! Bingey McBingeface. Not tonight (Josephine)!

Only day 8 so still a way to go. I should probably add that I have never stuck to a plan for longer than two weeks! I reckon I am going to do ss+ / 810 for 6 weeks and see where I am. I really want the weight to stay off this time so need to plan the attack carefully and this time I am going to do the stabilisation phase and work back up the steps to normal healthy eating. I have got that holiday/wedding up north at the end of Sept and we are renting a holiday cottage for 5 days so I need to be able to stay in control but be out of kotosis is because I will be having a drink!!

Also being off the sugar/carbs has made me realise what I knew already but either didn't care about or want to really admit, I am a total food slave and taking it out of the equation totally (apart from the odd but of protein and salad) has made me realise I CAN deal with life without it. I don't have to eat when I am bored or upset - I WILL NOT DIE WITHOUT A BISCUIT. It is just a bloody biscuit!! Ramble ramble but writing all this is apparently going to help sort out this addiction I have once and for all!!

Hello ladies! Nice to have some company. Good work on the weight losses so far Brien. How are you feeling about things today?

I did my first SS day yesterday as I didn't have the cottage cheese in the end as I wasn't hungry and didn't need it. I really want to learn to stop eating just for the sake of it, just because something is "nice"or the sun is shining or not or it's daytime/evening/the wind is blowing from the west.....or any other silly nonsensical reason! It is going to be a whole readjustment to my attitude to food. I need to do this this time around - it has to work. I am so sick of thinking about food all the time! I am realising that I am going to have to have a food plan every day and stick to it. Once I am back on real food I am going to use MFP to track my calories and exercise so I stay in control.

Julie - I hope you don't take this the wrong way but are you sure you will be ok with just your shakes over the weekend? I think you might need a different plan so you don't just end up falling off the wagon completely and then being consumed by guilt and feelings of failure. Maybe plan to have a really lovely chicken salad with chicken off the barbie and a lovely bowl of leaves with some yummy dressing (and, whilst it is not strictly allowed I do feel that a couple of cherry tomatoes and some strips of pepper are not going to kick out out of ketosis - they didn't me when I had them on Wednesday night after weigh in) whilst the rest of your family are eating so you don't feel like a sad deprived person? I am not suggesting that you gorge on frankfurters and bread or any processed rubbish, just that you have a lovely healthy, low carb meal with your family as that is the most normal thing in the world, and behaviour that we are all going to have to adopt if we want the weight to stay off. Anyway it's totally up to you of course I will stop preaching now!

    Hello ladies,

hope you are all enjoying the sunshine. I have just been to my yoga class and managed fine on a shake - need to drink some water and have my second shake as feel a tiny bit headachey but that is definitely dehydration. Husband has just left for work so had a snack with him of some tuna, a tiny splodge of Mayo and three raspberries. Mayo and raspberries are not strictly on plan but no carbs and I know if I don't have real food at least once a day I will not stick to it. That is my priority - getting off the starve/binge/guilt rollercoaster. I also have not struggled with loo issues this time and when I did Cambridge before that was a huge problem. So just goes to show a few veggies and protein make sure your body doesn't forget how to deal with food! Last night I got an attack of the munchies but was able to fend them off with some sugar free peanut butter on celery (again not on plan but I think that energy source is why I was able to my yoga class and not feel dizzy or sick) and then a small bowl of cottage cheese. This is massive progress as in the past a Friday night binge session would have been upwards of 3000 calories!

I had a cheeky look on the scales and am now showing a loss of 11lbs. Not going to weigh again until I see my lady on Tuesday for official weigh in. Am happy though and the husband has noticed a difference so it is definitely true!

    Morning all,

Just had a lovely breakfast of scrambled eggs and some veggies fried up with some herbs in Fry-light. Having an 810 day today. Going to have my first shake in a bit or I will struggle to get them all in. One good thing about this diet is I feel totally stuffed after what was a tiny breakfast - my stomach has shrunk to about a third of its normal size!

Morning weigh in showed a loss of another two pounds so I am 13lbs down, I need to stop weighing every day!! Will get obsessed again but it is so motivating to see the number go down. However I know from past experience that it is really demotivating when it doesn't or worse still, goes up so I need to try not to be a scale slave and go on my measurements and how my clothes fit. I also have my official weigh in in the evening so will always be a couple of pounds heavier than when I weigh in at home.

I am am gong to do some yoga today and then try a weights session at the Gym on Tuesday. Hope I can manage as I am feeling guilty about not going to the gym. I am a totally disordered eater but have managed to keep doing the exercise and always feel much better when I do some.

Ergh. Really struggling today. Feel Starving. MY STOMACH IS TRYING TO EAT ITSELF. Been climbing the walls with carb cravings. I think the veg I had yesterday have tipped me out of ketosis this time as snaffled 5 cherries too. Got to be more careful in future. But god it is SO hard.... Have not caved today though as eating carbs now is the worst thing to do, will just prolong the agony and I am only in day 12. I am going to have a bit of chicken and salad tonight as I am eating out with the husband as an early birthday treat and then we are going to see Some Like it Hot at the BFI which will be lovely. Just got to breathe through the cravings. this will pass. This will pass. THIS WILL PASS.
