Mantra: I will feel beautiful in my wedding dress

Hi everyone

Just joined this site. What a great inspiration it is reading about everyone's successes and moral support.

Thought I'd start a diary myself to keep motivated. Feel a bit shy about sharing but here goes :)

We are going on holiday to get married in Florida next July with our two sons. Not only would I love to not feel "blobby" in my wedding dress but would like to feel fit for our fun filled 3 weeks traipsing around theme parks without thinking "I'll never fit in that roller-coaster seat".

Started step 2 last Wednesday (no food though, 4 products instead of a meal plus milk allowance) because of my high BMI. Maybe I will come down to ss when my BMI is lower? Suppose it depends on if the weight loss slows down after a while :s

Anyway, one week gone and feeling fine after a few days of flu-like aches and tiredness. In all honesty have not felt hungry at all, just the odd "pining" for something.

Went to my CDC and weighed in 10lb lighter today! So pleased.

Thanks for reading x

Well done on your loss so far hun :)

I'm getting married abroad next year too, in Cyprus. Can not wait!!!

Good luck with your journey. x

Thanks :)

1lb to go for you, we'll done! Here's to beautiful brides to be :D

Well it's the weekend. Thinking about food too much. Not hungry just wanting, thinking etc. Its somehow more difficult because weekends tend to be more food orientated. Going out for a meal before the cinema for instance and cooking Sunday lunch for the family. Hey ho! I'll download some more pc games to keep my mind occupied lol.

Wish she these damn scales would move!

Hey Sezza,

I'm getting married next year too! want to feel beautiful in my dress, not fat and frumpy. I'm four weeks in and believe me, once that ketosis steps in properly, you feel great! I too usually struggle at weekends, but i've been keeping busy lately with cleaning and going out with friends. Turns out weekends don't have to be devoted to food...who knew?!

xx

Hi Flic

Another bride to be :) You're doing really well. Can't wait to try on pretty dresses when I've lost some more weight. Have you been dress shopping or are you waiting a while?

Got through the weekend keeping busy, starting to feel more positive again. Just takes some mental readjustment I suppose.

xx

Dress chosen! :) I went to try it on again two weeks ago with my friends - When I originally chose it, it was way back in April - I spoke to the lady in the shop (who noticed i'd lost weight - whoop!) and she is ordering me a size lower - i'd already lost a couple of inches!

It comes in January for the first fit try on so this is good motivation to keep at it! (and not succumb to the Christmas bulge!)

xx

Yes, great motivation to look great on your big day. I bet you're so excited waiting for it to come and to model it in a smaller size! :D

Daren't try any on myself, not yet. Maybe when I get down to a size 16; which I hope won't take too long. Would feel too embarrassed at the moment, I bet I wouldn't get any on!

xx

So upset right now. Had my week 2 weigh in and have put on a lb!

Feel pathetic and can't stop crying.

I honestly have not cheated, not one tiny bit. I have very light bleeding ATM (sorry for tmi) maybe that's contributing I don't know. I have the depo shot and don't normally bleed at all :s

So very disappointed at only week 2.

Any support/advice would be greatly appreciated x

Awww don't feel upset - it's perfectly natural to be 1-2lbs heavier one week just because of your body retaining water etc (and especially if you've got slight bleeding right now).

Remember you are in this for the long run - if you keep being good the weight will come off, it just may take a few weeks to get into things. Have you got a food diary anywhere I could look at and see if I can help with some tips? Perhaps change any carbs (e.g. pasta, rice, spaghetti) to wholewheat instead of white? That's not helpful if you're already doing that though.

I didn't lose any weight in my second week even though I'd been good, but now 6 weeks in I am steadily losing and it seems to have got easier.

Cheer up, just remember in a few months from now you will have lost weight if you don't give up :)

Also I've just read above and saw you lost 10lbs in your first week?! That is AMAZING!! So you are still 8lbs down? You literally have nothing to be sad about, that is such good progress overall.:D

That's how you have to look at things since there will always be variations week to week..

I'm on the Cambridge Diet so not eating "real food". So no wrong choices made but would've been good advice if on another diet :)

I do understand what you're saying but when you're as overweight as I am and having not cheated for a week, a gain in weight is extremely disheartening.

Thanks for your kind words x

Yes, of course, you're right :) xx

Yes that's what you need! Good old logical science brain ;) Easier said than done though sometimes!

You've lost 9lbs in 2 weeks which is outstanding. Even 1lb a week on average is good! Keep it up :) xx

Well the scales still aren't going down even though I'm sticking to the plan. Carrying on regardless as it's surely impossible to not lose weight eating so little.

On the positive side I'm getting accustomed to the diet more I think. Rarely feel hungry, in fact in feel really full and don't want anything. Feel a bit nauseous after having a product. Is this usual? Haven't read a comment from anyone feeling the same.

On the negative side I'm starting to worry that this diet isn't going to work for me as it's been 10 days since I lost any weight. Very confused as it obviously does work for the rest of you lovely ladies.

I will carry on regardless until my next weigh and see what happens then :s

x

Awww :( Well done for sticking to it, keep it up :) It's great that you seem to be getting used to the diet.

Maybe ask these questions in a thread that has a lot of people in? I want to help but don't have any experience of the Cambridge Diet I'm afraid :/

Hi Ladies...I am getting married next November and am almost 4 stone down thanks to Cambridge!! I went dress shopping a couple of weeks ago and decided I wanted to lose a little more before finding 'the one' so hoping to reach my goal weight by the end of the year.
Don't be disheartened by your lack of weight loss this week Sezza...it's just your body moving into ketosis and the 'weight loss mode' If you compare it to any other normal diet it's doubtful you would've lost that much in the short time you've been on cwp. Stick with it xx

Thanks for the encouragement ladies.

I will persevere as don't really see an alternative tbh.

Well done newby looby (4 stone down). I can't wait to try on some dresses. Only thing that keeps me focused. No idea what kind of dress I'd like so impatient to get an idea lol. I did talk to local bridal wear shop manager and she said they can only take in dresses up to 2 sizes so you're about there :) You must be so excited!

xx
