This time will be my time

Hi everyone,

I have decided to start a little diary to support me on my journey to finally change my life. I would welcome any comments or general chit chat but if nobody wants to stop by I will carry on chattering away to myself.

So about me I'm still youngish at 32, I have a gorgeous, wonderful and incredibly supportive fiancé. I almost have 2 degrees (just finishing the postgraduate one at the moment). I work in a large fashion and art institute in London and enjoy travelling as much as possible.

The one thing I have not been able to achieve in the last 15 years is tackling my weight. I honestly never ever thought I would reach the weight I am at the moment. I have probably put on a stone and a half every year for the last 4 years. This is mainly because like many others I comfort eat when I'm stressed or worried or sometimes even content.

I've reached breaking point. After trying every diet possible including Cambridge ( I lasted a week 3 years ago) I have to do this. I want to start a family next year and I don't want to feel guilty or embarrassed throughout my pregnancy. I am so broody it's crazy and everyone around me are having babies and I'm trying to smile but I am so jealous. Also we are getting married in 2016 so I have to get in to gear for that.

As I binge eat I think the idea of removing 'normal food' from my diet for a while will help me. I know Cambridge is very hard but this really is my last hope. I will be starting the plan on the 6th October and planning to be 100% with maybe just Christmas Day off.

My first goal is to lose 3 stone by January 6th.

Looking forward to starting, good luck everyone xx

You sound so determined!

you can do it, i believe so much of weight loss is in our heads, and if you have the right motivation and will power you will be well away!

Good luck! i'm re starting Cambridge to lose 3 stone, am on day 3 and its fine! yes im hungry- but im not dying.

i have a sneaky feeling you will smash your 3st by January target :)

xx

Thank you :) I totally agree if your head is in the right place you're in a much better place to get to target.

If that makes sense?

Once I have worked out how to use this website/ app I will start commenting on other threads.

Thanks for the support much appreciated xx

I'm building a list of goodies to treat myself to, to get me through the first few weeks of CWP.
So far my list includes:
DVDs
Candles
Aromatherapy Diffuser
Face masks
New make up
Hair mask
New body butter
Nail polish
Saucy book
New socks
New slippers

My plan is to pamper myself each evening when I get in from work and then snuggle up in bed and watch films until I manage to fall asleep. :)

12 days until I begin CWP... Nervous but looking forward to feeling a bit better about myself.

Hoping to fit in to a dress I bought 18 months ago that I've only worn once because it was a bit tight when I bought it. Hoping to wear it at Christmas. Fingers crossed xx

Hey Cece12, the whole distraction method it totally an awesome idea especially for the first 3 days days which I found the toughest but not unbearable, if i could offer any advise for those days is just lots of water it reduces the headaches and hunger. I started my CD on the 04th August and things were going great and i had so much more energy which i spent cleaning my house as I have just completed my postgrad too and am applying for jobs at the moment so didn't have much else to do. Unfortunately after 2 weeks i broke :( and stayed off it until the 5th September, and i can honestly say looking back i felt so crap when i was off, i was tired all the time and did nothing. Friday will be my 3rd week and weigh in day and once again feel better have more energy. It is a tough diet but one that works and although its boring and repetitive in the long run hopefully all of us will be a lot happier and lighter and i think remembering those goals will help you through the tough times, along with this site its always great to have others to talk too.

Total Loss so far:
04th August 17st 3lbs
18th August- Lost 10lbs
25th August - Lost 3lbs
27th August to 5th September - off the plan
5th Sept -Gained 5lbs
12th Sept - Lost 9lbs
18th Sept- Lost 4lbs
TOTAL weight loss so far 21lbs :D and long may it continue :p

You sound very determined :)

Hey thanks for the supportive words :) and well done for getting back on plan. Looks like you're doing great, hope I can do as good as you have!

I remember when I did Cambridge a few years ago and lasted a whole week!! I found the first 4 days incredibly hard so want lots of distractions this time. I'm trying to treat it like a detox/ pampering treatment as well. So gonna give myself a facial/pedicure etc once a week.

Keep going you're doing great! Xx

You sound very determined :)

Hiya,

I am determined but then I have been before.
I just can't carry on like this. I've probably put on 5 and half stone in the last 4 years. I have everything to lose this weight for and the only thing stopping me is my willpower.

I really want to be me again. Certainly in the last 2 years I've become ridiculously insecure. I've got to do this. Xx

You can do it. I knew once I got through week 1 I'd be fine. Today is my 7th day. Weigh in later. :) and I'm always here for support :)

Just think by the time I finally start CWP in 11 days you guys will have lost even more weight. Cannot wait to get started! Keep going both of you, you're doing great xx

I was hoping to not have to tell anyone I was starting CWP apart from my fiancé and my family but my boss has already started organising our Christmas work do. I may have to discreetly have a word with him to say I can't come :-(

I've ordered my ketostix. I want to get a mouth spray because my job involves me talking to lots of fashion students all day. Any recommendations for a decent one will be appreciated ;-)

Going to buy lots of ice and a couple of 2 litre bottles of water to fill every day- I'm going to try and drink 4 litres a day. I already drink 2 litres so fingers crossed I can push it to 4

Really can't wait to start now. Just over a week and I will have my dissertation done and I will begin my next challenge!!! Can't wait to feel better about myself.

Keep going everyone you're doing amazingly xx

Totally binge eating up to next Sunday when I have my first meeting with my consultant.

Don't know why I can't just eat normally :-(

you can and you will!! i went off the diet for two weeks and changed consultants so i also decided to eat everything and anything as my goodbye to food. But honestly was it worth it, looking back not at all i felt crap and gained 5lbs which just meant i had more to lose. i wish i hadn't binged and that's what i would say to you but regardless you will see a loss when you start if u just stick to it and i believe that all of us who have struggled with weight can its just about reminding ourselves of why we need to this :)
