Can anyone help me with this?

One thing that contributes hugely to my weight is the calories I take in from soft drinks. I find it near impossible to drink the amount of water I'm meant to and have suffered from kidney infections as a result. I just find it so much easier to drink fizzy drinks, milk, basically the fattening stuff. I know drinking water can really help weight loss, plus it's great for your body anyway.
Does anyone else struggle with this? How do you increase your water intake?

Hey there

I have recently come off of a slight addiction of Coca-Cola (the full-fat red variety) so hope I can help! I made the switch first to similarly naughty fruit flavoured drinks such as oasis and Ribena, then to regular squash (the juice-stuff you mix with water).

Eventually I will make the switch from squash to water but might do it in stages so one glass of water and the rest juice or something... or maybe even changing the squash to no added sugar.

Hope I helped somehow!

I used to drink nothing but diet coke, I couldn't stand water, but then I went onto squash you dilute with water, once I got used to that, I went to plain water, I did that for about 2 months, went out and had a diet coke in a pub... urgh I couldn't stand it, it was so sweet and made me feel really hyper like I had just had a redbull! So you can get used to it, you just have to make yourself drink the water to start with, then it gets easier as you get used to it

I love water and would rather drink that to soda/squash any day. Some fun things you can do to jazz up your water is add some fresh fruit such as lemon, lime, orange slices or some fresh mint.

I always also tend to have this problem. When I decided to stop drinking colas, I tend to do this just for a few days and still manages to get into it. The best solution for me was to get rid of it in the refrigerators so that I could not have easy access to it.

i love water with a slice of fresh lemon in it lovely

What about fizzy water? I get asda smart price ! And if you dont like it alone mix with sugar free cordial . Just set your self a limit or say you earn a pint of fizzy when youve had a pint of tap water. Have a refillable bottle and sip through the day no need to take all at once x

try herbal teas, green tea, iced tea (without sugar), crystal light, coffee (decaf), those little water flavoring syrups. Maybe ice water would help, bring a water bottle to work with you!

I used to drink a lot of diet fizzy drinks but now use no added sugar ribena. I use a 2 litre bottle or jug and fill it up with water and juice each day and use my huge favourite mug to drink it so its only around 4 or 5 cups of water. I am slowly using less juice but using a nas dilute is just as good as plain water. Its has only been a few days but now my body is used to it. I've never drunk so much water :)
