House makeover... Help!

Jess<3

Journey to 10 stone loss
Ok so were getting to redo our house... New kitchen, which will be tiled floor and walls.
Re paper/paint living room, dining room. Hallway, cinema room. Our room plus wardrobes and draws in there.
New carpets throughout the house minus kitchen.

Now I'm so rubbish at colours , designs etc!.

Id love it for peoples help and input. Good bargains. Tips, advice..!!

I know it's 'my house and I should do what I want' but hubby is no help as just agrees with what I say lol. So thought he fun to have others help?

:)

I will upload pics of current rooms. And colors I'm wanting for them..

Anyone wish to help!. (We've saved like crazy and I can finally have my dream home done my way) xx

Okie dokies, I'd love to help, I'll get thinking x

Ooh I'm jealous!! We've got massive plans for our house but it has to be gradual because each room will literally cost us a bomb. We're starting with the bathroom.
I'll have a think and a google. Have you tried *********? They have some fab ideas on there. And keep us updated with before/after & progress pics. Then we can all come visit ;) haha xx

God I can't believe the stuff this thing stars out!
It said P interest!!xx

Depends a lot on the sizes and position of the rooms.. for instance my hallway is very narrow and gets barely any light and after a lot of trials..and errors..I eventually used a light warm green, even tho' green is not a particularly fav of mine... DSCN0260.jpg..(excuse the coat)
Much lighter and really effective.

It is starred out for a reason. And that being it is classed as spam and if we let everyone posts links to groups then the forum would just become a place for spammers. The mods do a great job of keeping spam in posts to a min and it would help if members read the rules and didn't keep trying to post groups that aren't allowed to be mentioned on here.:)

It was a joke. I'm fully aware of the rules. Jess, I'll suggest it via FB instead ;)

I was going to suggest the pin site too (understand the spam stuff so no links but can't see that making someone aware of a site without a link should be a problem, in the same way as mentioning Tesco or Kellogs)

Anyway, using that site, make up a mood board for each room, with possible colours, lighting, furniture and incorporating items you already have and would be keeping, like a suite or carpet colours. As you build on it you can add or remove bits you change your mind about. Just be aware, it's addictive and you can lose hours ;) xx

Very good idea! I do have one or two boards with bits I liked.... going to have to set it up

I'm going to continue using the pin site, ,, how do I allow people to find and follow me? X

I have my pins set to private because I just use it for myself so I'm not sure how the finding and following works. Someone followed me yesterday but I'm not sure why as I don't put things up myself, I just steal other people's ;) I have folders for Cole's first birthday party, Christmas, allsorts. I never realised how good it is :) x

You can follow by searching your name or invites through FB. . Think il keep my project on here as I go along as it's nice to look back on!.

So first room were going to attempt is the cinema room. (Our spare guest room with a projector .... The man's room lol)
Il upload pics when I've not got a sleeping baby on me ;)

(PS we've never wallpapered before so that's why were doing that room first!)

But we have redone the kids rooms.. well rob has as I'm terrible at painting!!

This was a spare room beginning of the year . Turned to Jacobs room ..

We want to eventually convert our loft to a cinema room but for now we're having a projector in the living room :) x

They're amazing and amazingly cheap for the sizes too! I'd have one down here but the room is awkward for one. X

So living room... Excuse the mess.

Wall to the right when stood in door way.

And back wall where door is...

We will be keeping the red lamp, the sofa and chair. Which is axially a corner sofa. We've taking the corner part out so can have it how it is. Tv and cabinet is keeping and same place.

Question Is .. which wall would you have as the main/papered wall? I'm unsure with the fire wall or one where sofa is.... ?

Personally I always think the fire wall or one facing the door is the 'main' wall. That's the wall we always make a feature wall. I'm sure it'd look nice whichever you choose but I'd go for the fire walk if it was me x

Yeah it's the first you see which Is always nice. Then I think of the biggest wall... Hmm!

I agree re the fireplace wall, unless of course, you were thinking of getting rid of the fireplace, lol. We have got rid of ours, because it was hideous and didn't really have much of a purpose, and couldn't without an awful lot of work and expense. I don't miss the fire/fireplace but I do miss the mantelshelf, it looked lovely at Christmas with some greenery, baubles and candles draped over it.
Are you going to go for feature wallpaper on that wall then? I love your big bay window area.... and we have a jumperoo in ours at the moment too lol.
