    I love Curves.

I just wanted to let everyone know.

My daily workouts are a pleasure, joining Curves was the best thing i've done for a long time.
At my largest I was 28 stone. I lost 6 stone following a VLCD in a very short space of time and felt amazing but it was pretty short lived!

I have now put on 3 of those stones but have got back on the horse (before things got totally out of control) and am now following weightwatchers to lose the weight sensibly!

I just joined curves and three sessions in I can feel I have worked my muscles(well stiff)...It's the effort you put in that makes the difference. I also walk to and from work and around London so getting an overall work out...But curves is great and everyone seems nice and it is a two minute walk from my house...I never have to wait for machines ...I love the bit inbetween the machines where you jump or walk on the spot until the next machine..I normally dance like a maniac because the music is good...and the fact that it is only half an hour means I get to go after work then go home and cook dinner and eat at a reasonable time instead of how I used to at other gyms
    Three months and counting

Hi , thinking of joining curves and would like to hear for anyone whos been doing it for a few months to know if they recommend it and have felt real toning benefits. I already do lots of dog walking ( 20+ miles a week) and wonder if the toning would benefit me?
The thing thats putting me off joining is: No showers. Is this a problem for anyone else as i thinking of going in my lunch hour and don't wanna be stinky and sweaty for remainder or me day!
    Thanks everyone. Jenny

    Smile

Just discovered a Curves franchise has opened literally on my doorstep (well 2 miles away) and I am excited. I first heard about Curves on Oprah several years ago, bought the book and at the time was disappointed there was nothing in the UK near me.

Now there is and I am just as keen. I need to step up my exercise. Just wanted to know though, what is the maximum user weight for the machines. I have lost 6 stone but am still 24 stone. Will the machines hold me. Am planning a visit to the club next week.

Does anyone go to the Prestwich (Greater Manchester) curves?

Ticker includes pre-op loss of 24lbs

    Hi Rising sun,
I have joined my local curves 2ws ago and am really enjoying the half hour workout and feeling the benefits. Its easy going three times weekly and I really hope you do join and enjoy it too.
I do not know the max weight on machines, but they all operate by using resistance rather than free weights so I do not think there will be a problem for you. The staff are v nice and will advise I'm sure. There are all shapes and sizes and ages at my curves and as its women only its a safe haven- as I see it.
You are doing great with your wt loss . Well Done you.
