My understanding is that 2000 is needed to maintain body weight (for ladies). If you want to lose weight you have to take in less than you need ......... Depending on how much you have to lose 1200 is a reasonable amount of cals. You might lose on 1500 if you've got quite a bit to lose and I don't think it's considered healthy to go below 1000 - but I think 1200 is okay ..... feel free to correct me if I'm wrong folks!

PS. Sainsbury's now have a larger variety of the meals (Chilli only £1.49 @ mo.) and also have to Nak'd bars in 5 bar packs (cocoa or berry) for £2.69

But - having said that - I lost a pound last week which I can only put down to the fact I was TRYING to do dietchef although I didn't manage to stick strictly to it. I'm looking forward to getting stuck back in properly in January.
