thanks ali that was the biggest kick up the butt i needed!
i haven't caved in, just keep reminding myself how well i've done over the last 2 weeks and i'd be mad to waste it all in 10 minutes!
i'm going to start that new book i've been meaning to and hopefully that will keep my mind busy.
hopefully the scales will be kind tomorrow!

Exactly. I keep telling myself it would be a pretty poor show if I can't control what I put in my mouth for a few weeks when I know how great the rewards for sticking to plan will be. As I've read so many other people on here say, the food will still be there when we've finished.

yes i'm here, lost the plot a bit mentally over the weekend but i've got the right frame of mind back now.
i rely on the routine of work and kids so much through the week that as soon as the weekend comes my mind wanders and i start to lose sight of the goal!
i think i've decided to hide the scales because i was getting a bit obsessed with weighing every morning and when the scales don't move everyday it's a bit disheartening. once a week on a wednesday i will try!
    hope everyone's doing well

    Hi Sian

Glad to hear you're doing okay. I know exactly what you mean about things going a little awry when your routine is altered.

Mondays seems to be my worst day. I'm not working tonight but it would be oh so easy to fall off the wagon again. I even got as far as opening the cutlery drawer to get a spoon before heading for the fridge but I stopped myself. Heaven knows how. It's ridiculous isn't it, the hold food has over us I mean.

I'm weighing myself every day at the minute. And they're not moving much which is annoying but I'm trying not to stress over it as I know I'm consuming way less calories than I'm using so they're bound to go down sooner or later. It's just that seeing them go down really helps with your resolve to stay on plan doesn't it?

    Hang in there, Ali

    AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHH!
i could just scream! i've done it again, made a complete pig out of myself when i said i was going to complete 7 days 100%
what is my problem and why do i always make excuses to eat?
i knew i was going out last night with the girls so i thought "what the hell" and stuffed my face from friday afternoon til about 5pm today!
i have got to get into the routine of doing the plan for 7 days a week and not 5 days a week like i'm doing at the minute.
i try not to make excuses because i know i am the only one that can make this happen but i just find weekends so hard!
i have purposely arranged not to have any social events or nights out for the next 4 weeks at least because i find this is when i use them as a cheap excuse to cheat.
any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated

Sian, I can totally relate to everything you have said.

We know this diet works. We know we control what we put in our mouths, and yet for some reason our will powers have deserted us.

I've been doing a lot of thinking myself this weekend, trying to rationalise what's going on in my head and why I keep wobbling myself. Not really got very far though. I've certainly not come up with any magic answers that would get us to stick to plan 24/7.

When it comes to dieting I'm not generally one who needs the support of a group, or one to one, but I do wonder if you're doing a diet like this that it would help with getting through the dodgy times, like you at weekends and me when I'm working.

I know you want to lose more weight, I'm not ignoring that but it does strike me as kinda sad that you are beating yourself up when you've done so well. You have lost a whole stone in four weeks. One whole, entire stone. That's utterly fantastic. Something to celebrate. So look at it this way, even if you do fall off the wagon at the weekends you're still a success. That's not to give yourself permission to fall off the wagon, but if it means it takes you a couple of weeks longer to reach goal so what? Life's too short and all that without piling the pressure on ourselves even more.

    Hang in there, Ali
