Rona's Dukan Diary

faylolo

but real name's Rona
Woohoo! done 5 days on Attack and have lost 6lb - maybe more when I weigh tomorrow. Looking forward to starting Cruise so will start a diary as hopefully this one will work for me :)
Back to work after BH and didn't take enough food with me so was really hungry this afternoon. :( (Sorry body, I didn't mean it, please don't go into starvation mode)
Today I had:
B: Oatbran pancake
L: Tin salmon, dill & splash of balsamic vinegar.
Snack: 1/3 SF jelly
T: crab sticks, chicken breast and some beef cake/pate stuff made with lean mince.
Green tea, black coffee and lots of water. No cravings at all, even when hungry :)
My book hasn't arrived yet and I am going by what I read in the Daily Mail articles that I found when I googled Dukan Diet and what I've found out on here, so I hope I'm not too far off what I should be doing.
Tomorrow I will have
B: Oatbran pancakes made with a whole egg and an egg white, a couple of dsps soya yogurt and now I can have a whole 2 tbsp of oatbran. :)
L: salad leaves and cold chicken.
T: smoked cobbler fish and broccoli.
Might have snack of SF jelly and soya yogurt if I go and make some jellies before I go to bed.
Really looking forward to some broccoli tomorrow :) but missing glass of wine :(

Hi Fay and well done on your loss!

We have a menus thread you can join to be sure that someone checks out your menu for you. All looks ok but, as you say, a bit light on the old lunch today... FYI crabsticks are limited to 8 a day (and if you read their ingredients, you'll see why... good for an emergency snack though)! What's the beef cake/pate stuff? Something you made yourself? Please don't go hungry though - if you're hungry, you've not eaten enough at the meal time.

Good luck and hope to see you joining in the general chat here in the Dukan forum. Oooh and best to take multi vitamins if you're not already, and drinks plenty of H2O!

hey faye good morning and well done on loss so far !!

good luck !!

Faylolo's Dukan Diary

Got the book today so will work my way through it! I have a shelf full of diet books and I wasn't going to get another one!
Had oat-bran pancakes for breakfast - I make them with soy yogurt and a whole egg for breakfast - sometimes add an extra egg white. I try and keep it to a thicker batter and it makes about 4 scotch pancakes. Have 2 first thing and 2 when I get to work.
Enjoyed salad leaves and chicken for lunch with a bit of beef pate thrown in (shall describe in recipe thread).
Took an extra chicken leg to nibble on at breaks but only had half as didn't get time for afternoon break :(
Ate it while doing tea - really enjoyed my broccoli tonight.
Was going to ask about crab sticks as noticed they are a bit high in carbs! But they are a handy snack and not too expensive
Well, first PV day seems to have gone OK! Oh! and weight this morning showed loss of 7lb total for Attack phase!:):) Pleased with that although scales are a bit naff so might not be totally accurate.

nice 1 fay !!!

jo wrote the other day to watch crab sticks and to only have 8 per day !!

HTH !!!

thanks Jet. :) Saw Jo's comment but what I meant was that I had been going to ask about them as I thought maybe I'd bought the wrong ones after I'd read the label, but from what Jo says they must all be the same. Glad about that as Tesco have them on special offer just now and I bought several packets, but don't think I could manage more that 8 at a time anyway :)

Hello there Rona (Fay?)... 8 is fine if you're desperate, but if you can avoid and make something less sugary, all the better for you... great to have as an emergency snack though. I used to have three most evenings in front of the box (bad habit!!)... unrolling them and eating them VERY slowly...

Great loss!! Go you!

Thanks Joanne, I probably won't get any more when I've used these up. I find it difficult to keep nice things for an emergency - if they're in the house they tend to sing and whistle at me!!
I think that's why a restricted diet like this one suits me as if I know I can't have it, it doesn't bother me too much, but otherwise I just want to eat it all!!
Had 4 last night and a SF jelly as although I wasn't hungry I had the munchies for the first time since I started. Wonder if it was the veggies. Seem OK tonight so will see how tomorrow goes as I will PV again.
PS. My name is Rona but I often choose my childhood nickname of faylolo as a user name as Rona is often not available

Got some wheat bran and added to oatbran pancakes today. Gives a nicer texture. Hope it does the trick but will take a senna tablet tonight!
Also had salad leaves and cold meat for lunch. Soya yogurt and balsamic vinegar dressing.
Cold chicken, ham, king prawns and broccoli for tea. Broccoli tasted really sweet.
Not been very adventurous in what I've eaten this week, wonder if I'll look back on this in 6 months or so and still be eating the same stuff. I've always loved broccoli :) so that won't change but not keen on so much meat. :(

Rona - if you're the sort of person normally quite happy eating the same things endlessly (I do whether "eating" or "dieting", so it doesn't bother me), then don't worry about it.

IF, however, you used to eat a varied diet "before Dukan", you'd be well advised to do some cooking else you'll get mightily bored very quickly I fear...

What alternance are you doing? Too many successive PP days can cause problems with the old transit, so try alternating PPs and PVs perhaps?

i love jo's take on dieting im a boring dieter and ive still not got round to marinating i will get out my chicken fillets soon !!

keep up the good work rona !!!

I'm a boring eater... dieter... binger... I could quite happily live on the same foods... (and I do actually!! Monday to Friday I repeat the same menus. I could tell you what I'm eating in 3 months' time, according to what day you ask me!!)

lol

I think most people have a pattern to meals if they cook, Mum did when we were kids and I think she and dad still do even if its more convieniance based now.
I know some of the people I sit near have the same lunch day in day out.
The thing with low carb is the lack of variety of texture between meals compared with carby eating, a roast feels very different to pasta to fish and chips.

I am a repeat eater and will happily have the same things day in and day out if I like it - and there not much I don't like!!
I am doing 1:1 PV:pP as I find that easier. So long as there's a good date on the bag of salad it will last for two PV days and so will a head of brocolli.
Got new scales at the weekend they weigh a couple of pounds higher than the old ones so I will adjust my figures when I get round to it.
But the worst thing was I was 1 1/4 pounds heavier today than yesterday! :(:( Maybe because I ate late last night. Also spent some time with mother in law over the weekend and although I went for a walk was pushing wheelchair so didn't really stride out.
Today I have had oat/wheatbran pancakes with a whole egg and egg white for breakfast. Tinned salmon for lunch and chicken curry for tea. Chicken curry was just curry powder dry fried in wok a bit of lazy garlic and ginger, chicken stock from last weeks chicken and a pile of cold chicken. More like a very meaty muligatawny soup - I will repeat that! Have kept some back for lunch tomorrow and will have it cold with salad leaves and cherry toms
And today I booked an induction at the gym for Thursday evening as I know I won't go walking when it is cold and wet. :):)

New scales did that to me too at one point - best just take it on the nose, as you say... as for the other increase, was it after a PV day? how late did you eat (I often eat late), and was it a salty meal? That's most likely to cause an increase.

As for walking in the cold, that I can do (my other half took a photo last winter of me in gloves, scarf, thick winter coat AND woolly hat - wish I could find it!). Rain I can't! I'm with you there!

Put on weight after PV but ate about 9pm so thought after normal PP day I would have lost it this morning - but nope still there!
Today I had oat and wheatbran pancakes with just egg white and some cherry toms for breakfast. Cold chicken curry and salad leaves and SF jelly with soy yogurt for lunch. Salmon fillet, brocolli and green beans for tea.
Must be holding on to fluid as have drunk loads of water, 2 mugs of green tea and 3 of coffee but not running to the loo every 5 mins. Will probably be up and down all night!

3/4 of a pound down this morning! :D :D and that was after having a chicken leg and thigh just before I went to bed!
PP day today so hopefully on the way again.
Usual pancakes for breakfast, chicken for lunch, SF jelly with soy yogurt for snack and curry beef for tea.
Been drinking fizzy mineral water high in magnesium and that seems to have done the trick to get things moving!
So, all in all looking forward to a good result on the scales tomorrow.

Oops, I just ate a SF jelly and yog without noticing. Thought I'd left it in the kitchen then I realised the empty pot is on the table beside me
