Silver's Diary

So this is my 3rd (technically 4th) time attempting to reach my goal weight. I did Lipotrim and Celebrity Slim before, which are TFR's, although you have dinner with CS. With both of those diets I lost weight, a lot of weight, but it inevitably returned and moving to America from Ireland really hasn't helped.
Not only have I had to deal with huge portions and the fact that it's often cheaper to eat out but also homesickness and the comfort eating that brings on. Well thats all stopping now! Hopefully
I've been working with a personal trainer for the last 5 and a half months and seeing great results. I've toned up, I'm stronger and I'm fitter but I haven't lost any weight... So my wonderful PT suggested the Dukan Diet to me and, after looking at it, it seems like a dream come true. I get to eat and lose weight at a fast rate....that's a cake walk compared to LT and CS she says, tempting Fate.
My Attack Phase lasted 6 days and I lost 7.4lbs, 2.2lbs more than the website predicted and I'm pretty sure that's due to an increased metabolic rate from all my exercise :character00115:
Currently I'm on day 3 of my Cruise Phase (only 177 left :p) and all is going well so far. My husband is doing the diet with me, despite only needing to lose a sixth the weight I need to lose and I adore him for it! It has made it sooo much easier because he understands the limitations of the diet and we can support each other through it. He will reach the Consolidation Phase in about a month but I know he will still be just as supportive as he is now.
I will reach Consolidation in 25.5weeks time, although I hope to continue with my slightly faster weightloss and reach Conso in 19.5 weeks. I only need to lose and additional 0.5lb a week to do this! :cross:
The reason I want to shorten my Cruise time is because my family is coming to visit and I would love for them to see me slim and toned! It will be the first time they've seen me in person in over a year and I will be the first time they've EVER seen me at a healthy weight with a decent fitness level

:bliss:

Day 10

Today was a PP day and it went fairly well. Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon for breakfast, steak and a SF Jello pot for lunch and salmon with NF philadelphia and tuna patties for dinner. The tuna patties turned out nicer than I expected so that was great :) I had 2 snacks today, both were the cupcake sized Dukan lemon cheescakes I made yesterday. It was a good food day all in all :)
Exercise was pretty good too. Took my puppy, Rua, to an off leash dog park :chores016: and started interval training with my Couchto5K app. It was waaay colder out than I expected so hopefully that helped burn some additional calories :) I exhausted Rua too. She slept for 4 hours when we got home! :woohoo:
I'm going to set up some timetables for myself tonight I think. Being on this diet is really making me want to get the rest of my life sorted. So I gotta cop on :copon: and get my rapidly slimming ass in gear :shifter:

You sound like you're really embracing the diet Silver and keeping the motivation going. I look forward to reading more.

Day 11

So I cracked today. I've been sooo tempted to do a sneaky weigh in despite Sunday being my official day and this morning I just couldn't help myself! Couldn't believe it when the scales said I'm down 2.4lbs! :happy036: I'm over the moon! *squeal* :D

The rest of the day, while fun, was a total write off :( I had planned to get chores done and make head way with some personal projects and the fact that I didn't disappoints me. Other than that I had a great time! I went to my personal trainers for coffee around 11.30 and didn't leave until 18.15! We had a great chat and I really enjoyed myself. My PT is 4/5 months pregnant and we're supposed to be going walking together but she didn't feel up to it today hence coffee.
I still don't know alot of people over here so 1. being invited for coffee and 2. having so much fun and staying so long was a big thing for me.
So despite my disappointment at my lack of productivity I think today was a good day :D

Oh food! well today was PV so I had a steak for breakfast and then, at my PT's house, I had salad, some beef, and 0% yogurt for lunch. She insisted I had a snack mid afternoon, so she made another salad and a HUGE portion of salmon! I thought we were going to half it...but nope  She's turkish and she kept explaining to me how it's part of her culture to over feed guests lol :p I just flustered her by not being able to eat much at all :giggle:

Sounds as if its all going well, keep up the good work! Nice thing is on this diet you can eat yourself slim - brilliant wheeze! Good luck

You said it! It's unreal! I figure if I can not eat :airquote: for 10 weeks with Lipotrim I can eat protein and veg for 19-25 with Dukan :eat:

The time goes so quick especially when you know you will have lost weight if you do Dukan 100%. I am amazed each week when I can go food shopping and not be tempted with anything non Dukan. This diet has defo done something with my head!!! LOL

Yeah I'm suprised that I'm finding it so easy to turn down things and stay on track. Every other diet I've done took a lot more will power....well at least that's how it feels at the moment lol. If you come back to me in a few weeks I wonder if I'll be singing the same tune...

Yes you will - no way did I think I would still be eating this way after 25 weeks and have lost 48 lbs - Dukan is Brilliant

Day 12

Another good day! This can't last forever, can it?
Today was PP so breakfast was scrambled egg white and some beef. Lunch was a chicken breast and for dinner we went out for sushi :gimi: Was sooo good! I got miso soup (picked out the shitake mushrooms), a mixed sashimi plate with salmon, tuna, scallops, king crab and a suprise fish and to finish, seared scallops with vinegrette. The scallops came with a salad so I got it boxed to have tomorrow :D
I also got exercise in today on top on my walk. So I did 30min running/interval training, 3min wall sit, 3.5min(total) plank, 20 push ups, 30 sit ups, 20 leg raises, 30rep per side oblique dead lifts with 25lb weight, oh and 21 flights of stairs (not including daily stair climbing). Pretty happy with that :character00115:

Brought my pup to the off leash dog park today as well. She was really well behaved! I was exceedingly proud of her. She listened to everything I said and followed the casual heel until I released her and came right back when I started the heel again. :happy096:
But then the poor thing got bullied a bit by a bigger dog. She ended up face-planting and her momentum cause her to skid, ON HER FACE, and then flip over onto her back. She has a few cuts by her eye now from the gravel, and she was cowering against my legs for a while after :(

Silver reading your exercise yesterday makes me tired! Hope your little dog is OK this morning.
Yes and I see we are both 5'10" - keep going with Dukan it does truly work 25 weeks and im still not fed up.
This morning I'm now 2lb of my true weight so chuffed and more chuffed :)

Day 13

PV day today. Breakfast was scrambled egg whites with turkey bacon, sweet peppers and shallots. Lunch was a can of tuna and the salad left from last nights' dinner out and dinner was a modified Weight Watchers cottage pie recipe. I had a NF SF choc and vanilla snack pot and 3/4 SF Fruit Lifesavers (like polo fruits but american). We're having our galette shortly, while we watch a movie :)

Exercise today consisted of 40 mins on the crosstrainer with light(3lb) hand weights, followed by 22flights of stairs. Also went to the park with the dog and the husband for a walk. No weights today, will do those tomorrow. My abs are killing me from the oblique dead lifts yesterday :D

Tomorrow's my weigh day so wish me luck! :cross:

Fingers crossed its a brill weight loss because of all that hard exercise and good dukan food. Well done Silver - dont need to wish you luck you've done it all yourself :) :) :)
