Dukan ? hope so!

Dukan Veteran
Right got to start the diary! Been on the Dukan for3 weeks and ive lost 11lbs so far which i am absolutely made up with!! My other half is amazed at the amount of cooking that's involved and not being the best in the kitchen i got to admit its been a struggle at times. Im a bit inconsistent one day it will be wonderful and then i make it again and it tastes rotten. That the most challenging thing for me, and they say practice makes perfect so that's what i need to do, ill be a match for Delia by the end of this journey.

I feel so motivated at the moment i just hope it stays that way, Dr Dukan advises that it will take until next May to lose this weight so ive gotta be in it for the long haul. I know there are going to be dips and blips but for my health and my joints i have to stay with it otherwise ill be having replacements before im 50.

I did lose 3 and half stones on lipotrim a few years ago, but developed gallstones, the drinks made the pain worse so had to knock it on the head until the stones were removed then gradually over the last 3 years the weight has crept back on, and i know that its the chocolates bread and biscuits that are controlling me rather than the other way around, 3 weeks in and im not even craving the carbs although the cream scones at the concert last night were torture as they kept putting the tray in front of me saying, would you like one?

My next goal is to get under the the next stone milestone, so that's 4 lbs away, that's what i'm focusing on. Some of my clothes are getting looser and some are fitting me better which is a good sign. I have the full range of sizes in the wardrobe so should be ok.

The next challenge will be a christening next weekend and then a wedding the weekend after not sure whats on the menu, will have to make it a PV day for sure.

Welcome to the forum CPL and congrats on losing 11lbs - keep going and before you know it you will have reached your TW - perseverance thats all it takes :)

welcome your losses are good so far... keep it up x

Hello, nice to find your diary well done with your losses so far, its funny how fast the craving for carbs stop, keep going sounds like OH is very supportive x

Thanks Sididd, OH is supportive, but i think hes enjoying the recipes that go well. Caught him pinching my bran muffins tonight lol.

Well this week has been quite a challenge, its the planning that's difficult i never know what im going to want for my dinner the following day!! I have been having the day befores tea for following days dinner, it seems to be working well to be fair.

I had to go up to Huddersfield for a concert rehearsal, its a couple of hours away from where i live and i had to go straight from work, had to plan 3 meals ahead, it would have been so much easier to grab a butty from the supermarket, but i didnt and i felt much better when i got home for sticking with the plan.

Got goji berries from Morrisons £1.79 a bag, they tasted a bit like cold tea but not unpleasant been having them with natural yoghurt and a bit of sweetener.

In work people are starting to notice that ive lost a bit of weight, still got a long weigh to go, pardon the pun.

Tomorrow we are going to a christening, dont know whats going to be on the menu cant really ring ahead to find out without sounding rude, may have to take a tuck box with stuff that i can eat. Fingers crossed it wont be too difficult.

Collette, thats a good idea to take your own food, nobody minds when you explain. Keep going your doing fabulous have a good Dukan weekend x

Im trying, very trying my OH tells me lol.

Tomorrow is going to be a long day, the christening is down south, just outside London and were not staying over so its driving there and back, some people are camping others are in hotels. There is a BBQ afterwards and a marquee to keep the rain off us all. Still trying to figure out if i should wear heels or wellies, i wonder if you can get wellies with heels? lol Cx

Hahaha you can get wellies with wedges lol, if its a bbq there be loads for you to eat x

There will be loads to eat as long as its not burgers, i dont eat beef, i only eat chicken, turkey and fish.

I have got some floral wellies in the garage may have to put them in the boot, just in case. Cx

Defo pack the wellies, rain forecast for London area, hubby going tom to watch footie, weather looked rubbish ;-( Enjoy the day and your fab 11lb weight loss is gonna taste better than any non dukan friendly foods u may come across , I admire your planning, I am learning planning is the key and being organised with enough foods so not to be tempted to cheat etc, all these tips on here are great. :)

Ah thanks Kirsty, i cant believe the results either just made up to have lost, go a long way to go yet just gotta take one meal at at time or may be pan three meals ahead, never been good at the planning bit in any diet thats probably why i ve failed at most of them.

I cant let myself get hungry coz ill just crash and go for whatever there is available, thats why im deffo taking my own box of goodies just in case.

Wellies are packed as are waterproofs!! sorted!! x

[FONT=Tahoma, Calibri, Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif]Oh what a day!! we left Chester with the sun cracking the flags, by the time we got to Birmingham the clouds were brewing and the rain began to fall, this lasted all day and then the winds started, thought the marquee was going to be a goner for sure, the guys had to keep going outside to secure the ropes, Anyone would have thought it was winter not late spring. Glad I took my wellies and jumper to go over my dress! Think I may have started a new fashion trend! Lol

The christening was fabulous, we had a lovely day, but as for the food, well, must admit I did slip a little. How could I refuse the gorgeous chocolates celebration cake? I was surrounded by carbs!

This is what i had. Started the day with a substantial breakfast of turkey rashers egg and mushrooms, stopped off at the services on the M1 and had a prawns and smoked salmon salad, for on the way down I had taken some muffins and a bottle of water. All was well!

After the ceremony in the marquee, there was a wonderful buffet, absolutely gorgeous carb fest! Stuck to the salad and tuna mayo, lots of coffee and tea to keep warm, all the shivering must have got rid of some cals lol. Also had a cheese &pineapple on a stick and a small piece of quiche, then the celebration cake but only a small piece. Later on in the evening there was a BBQ had a couple of chicken drumsticks.

Today is weigh day, and I've managed to lose 2 lbs!!!! It just goes to show that moderation and thinking about what your eating does help, I was so conscious about what I was eating, usually I would have piled the plate up without a thought, so I am pleased that I haven't caused too much damage.

Got a wedding next week, god help me! round 2 coming up!:character00250:
