Operation Miami - Dukan Diet

Hi guys,

I'm new to the Dukan Diet and started on Monday. My weigh in before I started was 69kg (152.1lbs) and after weighing this morning, I am 66.9kg (147.5lbs). I am delighted with the results and aim to continue through with all phases to reach my ultimate goal of 57.2kg (126lbs).

I have tried various diets but never manage to stick to them as I'm always tempted by foods which I cannot eat in moderation. Dukan has allowed me to stop craving sweet treats and fried meals and my OH has actually made the comment that I'm glowing.

I have been sticking to 2 litres of water and 2 green teas a day (which sees me running to the toilet like a mad woman  lol!) but I definitely feel much better on the inside.

I am an avid participant in various carnivals, so I need to shake of the excess weight so I can look cute in a bikini costume once again.

I'm looking forward to staying motivated by the other Dukan followers, as I see you're such a helpful community :).

Let the journey begin...

Hey! Glad that you're doing so well. This site is great for keeping you motivated, and lots of great recipe ideas so things don't get too boring. I look forward to hearing how you get on! Are you now into cruise?

Hi Ceridwen,

Thanks for replying to the thread *big hug*.

I'm a bit confused on the Cruise front. I have done 3 days of Attack (ended yesterday). Do I start cruise with a PP day also? *help* lol!

I am definitely enjoying Dukan and I have tried to implement some form of exercise which I believe has helped.

Monday: Walked for 30 mins (after lunch)
Tuesday: A workout using an Xbox game
Wednesday: 25 mins of Zumba (wearing a sauna suit)

Today I'm aiming to do a 20 minute walk after lunch and then 30 minutes of Tae Bo tonight.

My OH has commented that I'm glowing and I think it's because I'm happy with the weight loss #WhoopWhoop :)

I did 3 days on Attack too, then my first day on Cruise was a PV day, which I think is right.... it seemed to work for me anyway as I lost 7lbs in my first week. :)

I'm also exercising during this diet to try and speed things up a bit! I don't own a sauna suit - do you feel like you get a much better workout wearing it?

Most definitely! Even my legs were sweating last night which is something you don't experience when you are not wearing it.

I purchased a men's one from Argos (which was cheekily £2 cheaper than the women's one) and when you take it off, the sweat literally drips onto the floor.

I generally don't sweat, so i'm always shock by how fast it works.

I must admit, I'm feeling a little hungry this afternoon. This is my first PV day funnily enough and I was full at lunch from 3x small roasted chicken drumsticks and a salad (lettuce, carrots, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers -no dressing) but now, I have had to snack on small pieces of chargrilled chicken twice.

Having curried chicken and steam veg later, so hopefully that will see me through so I don't snack on anything naughty .

This is the first time I've felt hungry since Monday

Slightly frustrated today as I didn't plan ahead (lunchwise) and the OH is cheesing me off (doesn't help that he works downstairs lol!).

Can't wait to go home and vent my frustration with some good ol' Tae Bo and a piece of Dukan Lemon Cheesecake that I made last night.

Went from 66.1kg (yesterday am) to 65.9kg (today am) - first day of cruise, so I'm happy the scales didn't go up.

You really must eat lots of protein, more than seems 'seemly'! Many of us regularly feast on whole chickens at a time, especially on pp days. It's a different mindset from other diets, where you tend to feel you're not doing it right unless you're constantly thinking of food. Keep up the good work!

Thank you Sara.

I might have to look into those whole chickens lol! (What a shame I won't be able to eat the skin :cry:lol!

I'm so glad you said that Sara! When I write my daily food diary it seems like I've eaten a huge amount!

Well done Trini on the progress so far. Joining you in Cruise tomorrow. Really want to get my hands on some veggies now!

I was really missing veggies until I had to do my first PP day in cruise. Today sucked as I really wanted an addition to the protein.

Can't wait for tomorrow #WhoopWhoop

I bet you already have a meal in mind?:)

I have a hundred meals in mind! Just can't decide what to choose . I am missing my weekend glass of wine though. Ah wine....

I can manage without the alchohol but I am missing my Friday night take-away. Nandos would go down nicely right now...extra hot :D

Hi ;-) u are doing fab, pv days u may find u feel hungry, weirdly! make sure as Sara said u eat plenty of protein, esp when u feel u dont need it, to prevent later slip ups or in my case rages hahaha I am not a happy duakaneer when I have left it too late in between protein!
It certainly changes how u view food, it becomes more of a fuel and u may long for pv days but u need to do both to lose and u just have to make sure u always have something on hand to eat! Try new recipes, u can buy piri piri flavourings, get used to putting spices and herbs on ur food and before long u will be making ur own nandos chicken!!
When u cook chicken breast or whatever always cook one more or a couple more for the next day or later. If ur mind tells u u need something, make urself eat protein first and then see if u still 'need' something. Dont be afraid to ask questions on here, honestly we are all on the journey of reprogramming together and we all feel the same, I am no one to give advice really after I had a moment of madness last weekend! BUT the advice here is so fab and we can all motivate each other! Good luck ;-)

Thanks Kirsty! I am definitely gonna have to get a Nandos substitute lol!

I have had no weight loss since Friday as I messed up on the weekend (whoops!) but I didn't out any back in thank God.

I'm back on track now and have my chicken and fish thawing out to cook later.

I seriously need to cook bigger batches at night as I really struggled at the weekend as I didn't stay at my house and had to find things to eat in the West End for lunch. It was absolutely epic! I was in M&S for a good half an hour pondering about what I would be able to eat. I won't be doing that again!

you can have nandos just make sure you make good choices ;)

They temptation will be too much lol!

What would you suggest if I do go there? The plain chicken and a salad?

The fact that I've now lost 8.1lbs since 11.06.11 has definitely inspired me to stick to it and my OH has said that my frame is getting slimmer this morning #WhoopWhoop.

I officially love the Dukan Diet.

I was telling my cousin about the amount of weight you've lost and she wanted to faint lol! She started it yesterday, so i'm trying to keep her motivated.

ive never eaten there myself but i think the girls that do have the plain chicken & salad

Hi Trini, thought I'd stop by & have a read of your diary. Sounds like you know what you are doing & are doing very well ! Dunno about your OH saying you are glowing some of your posts are beaming :D Lovely to read, looking forward to following your progress x
