New to dukan pcos and ibs and now lost my twins

Hi Everyone

I am new to the world of dieting and Dukan

I have got the books but feel a little apprehensive and not sure about everything even though it appears simple.

I am 32 married and recently miscarried twins.

I am now nearly a dress size 16 and comfort eat - (was a sixe 10 until i got married - contentment hey)

I hope to make new friends in this journey and hope to recieve encouragement and support and in return hope to help others in there journey too

I have never used a forum before so not sure how this all works especialy signiture thing at bottom of everyones names

im currently 76kg suffer with PCOS so weight loss is hard and weight gain is steady and sure fast.

i hope to be around 56-58 kg when im done

QUESTIONS

How do u make the gallet
cn u eat fruit
can u eat cheese like chedar
how to make omlette without putting oil in the non stick - without oil it will stick no?
how do u flavour chicken without oil?
tea coffee diet soft drinks all ok ?
how much dairy or is it unlimited

Hi Reena,

i did/ do the diet with my husband and it was much easier.I also had IBS and its mostly gone with this diet.

if you look at the "rules on this ste it will tell you most of what you want to know but heres some quickies
1) I made the gallet with 2 tablespoons of oatbran for me and hubbie. i also added tbsp of wheat bran in cruise as i get constipated. Then added 1 egg white and 2 tbsp of TOTAl YOGHURT OR USUALLY QUARK. aDD FLAVOURINGS IF NEEDED. (sorry about caps!) Use low fat spray oil in a good non stick pan and "fry" the galletes. I ate low fat cream cheese or good quality ham or chicken with mine. if you want a sweet one add some sugar substitute. This meant we could make another gallete later as we were suppsoed to have 1.5 in attack and 2 in cruise (tblespoon) i would also recommend you make muffins.
2) you cant eat fruit in attack or cruise but you can eat rhubarb in cruise..which is a vegetable. saved my life through out the diet
3) depending on which book you read you might be able to eat small amounts of cheese in cruise. i ate very small amounts of grated low fat cheese on my gallete and did loose weight. however if you dont loose weight dont eat it!
4) Omlette use the low fat spray and a good pan; it wont stick
5)Never flavoured chicken with oil. There's loads of recipes on the web. And for me youre only succeed if you look up loads of different recipes and try them. chilli and garlic should be your gods!
6) Diet drinks (1 cal or less) limit 3 a day. Tea and coffee unlimited but also watch you drink required amount of water.
7) Low fat and low sugar dairy only . i believe current thinking is limit of 1k a day which is plenty for most peeps!

Have a good look through the recipe thread there are some suggestions how to make galattes, I don't have them myself I tend to make muffins - again on the recipe thread.

Make good use of herbs, spices to stop your food from becoming bland

Most important read the book, it is a good plan to follow. The girls on here are lovely too
 
hi Reena, I found your diary. Great advice from the girls. also best piece of advice I can give you which was given to me was make a weekly/bi weekly food plan it really helps so you dont have to think about what to eat its a great tool. Good luck xxx
 
re-calculate your tw Reena as 7 day for your weight seems along time I would have guessed about 5....
 
Thanks I will definately recalculate it. Just not sure what is a sensible weight for me or if it is realistic to go back to what i used to be 58kg?!

Just looking for a good non stick pan i have bought two books the life plan and the reciepe book...these will be my bibles i think

I will try making the oat bran galletes... is the fromage frais reciepe ok for attack

im so obsessed with the atack part that i havent thought of all else...i work a four on and four off shift pttern so may start on my four days off so i can sleep for most part eeeeek

Ive just tried to go back to the official site and its not allowing me to view the curve to see how many days i should be on attack and the other phases

Also i have been pregnant and lost twins so in the box should i put once or none as i havent actually had the pleasure of having them as i miscarried in my first trimester.
 
Unsure re pregnancy- I don't know how many changes first trimester would make. And I'm so sorry for your loss

I ended up recalculating on a different email address for dukan. Don't worry too much- read the book and it'll be clear!

oatbran (never seen or heard of it befoe will go holland and barrats)

diet coke
herbal teas (dont like these)
big case of bottled water EVIAN
A good quality non stick pan
Ginger and soy sauce for flavouring
red chilli
cinamon powder for my gallets

anythign else ive missed?


I really eat alot of rubbish no day without cheesecake or a box of biscuis nad choclates so am almost scared that i will collapse. i cant belive how nervous i am of getting it wrong. part of me thinking should start today. !! Im actually at work on 1 and second but hey ho DUKAN HERE I COME....on the first tho xxx
 
QUESTION - i was 76kg when i first weighed in on xmas day for my own knowledge

weighed myself today and im 73.6 kg THIS HAS TO BE WATER RIGHT.28 dec 12..

im extra eating now that i know its all going to change on the first ...its gona hit me real hard i know i have really indulged...i dotn normally drink alcohol but i have been drinking over christmas to numb my pain of my loss which was only a few weeks ago.

I will weigh myself first thing on the first and go visit website and recalculate my program as well

? how can ur weight change over night almost eating more than ever before - only thing different ws that i walked in the sales for the day

Signature you can add to after 50 posts.

I'd get sugar free jelly for when you need something sweet!

I'd avoid ham as its not allowed in the older versions of the book. If you want to use it be aware it could cause a stall due to salt.

Yoghurt needs to be sugar and fat free. Total 0% is great and you can sweeten yourself. You can make your own too- some ladies do, check the recipe threads.

Can i marinate my chicken in yoghurt n spicrs and roast it without using oil...

I'm always surprised how much fat comes out of a chicken when it's roasted - don't worry about not being able to add extra fat!

How are you getting on?

You could always get some roasting bags, I use them to save on the mess & because I'm an awful cook :)
 
Hi pauline i havent started yet start date was going to be first jan but will be starting on second. I want to start with my hubby and i will be off for four days. My attack period is seven days. I eat so much junk so i know i will be murder to be around first few days. Really excited about my first evet diet.
Hi jojo yeh i usualy use a deep tray and a rack so meat is away from fat it can be messy bags a good idea. These drumsticks will make fab snavk for me n hubby.

What happens when u have a sugar low...i get them occassionaly and a coke or mars bar works to bring me back from feeling faint n trembling hans and sweating...thknk they calld hypos only ever get em at work where i cant graze like the cow i have become excpet i graze on sweets n biscuits n cake not grass lol

I guess should eat ogten n regularly....i will miss avacado n bacon the most ....:(
 
Yes you must make sure you plan plenty of snacks x
