Hi, as the title says I'm getting married in 21 weeks (end of July) desperate need and panic to lose weight to fit into the dress, even though I'm yet to start dress shopping, plan is to start tomorrow I have 2 and half stones to lose. Going shopping tomorrow what would you ladies recomended are the essentials in attack phase, hoping to do this for around 7 days. Feel free to tell me if I'm doing anything wrong.

Hello and welcome! Congratulations and it'll be fun having a soon to be bride on the forum again!

Firstly I would advise you go to the official website and fill out their target weight questionnaire for your profile. It'll also tell you how many days you need to do on attack.

I wouldn't start tomorrow as you've not got the shopping in so what would you eat?!! Get your menus planned, and read the relevant part of the book, and you'll find it all a lot easier.

Good luck!

Hiiii and welcome!! :)

I am on day 4 on the attack phase and have been looking for a buddy! i see we are a similar weight.. which is great so we can see what each other is eating and losing!

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding :) have u got ur dress yet?

I mainly have been eating:

fat free nat yog
oat bran
sugar free jelly
chicken breasts
steak
lean mince
eggs
all types of herbs and spices!

the first day i found the toughest.. day 2 my energy levels were low.. but days 3 and 4 have been great! I havnt been hungry and have had lots of energy!

good luck with your shopping list ! x

There is a list on here somewhere of what foods you can have - stick to pure protein and definitely go to the official site to see how many days of attack to do and also read the book as it is invaluable - fantastic news you are to be a bride - what more incentive could you need? Good luck and don't start till you have everything in and are prepared! x

Ditto what the others have said. How exciting you are getting married, me to next year ( hopefully) but some way to go for me on the weightless front first. I won't be a fat bride.

Good luck on your journey x

Good luck :D

Hi ladies. Thanks for all the advice and good wishes, well I decided to start today as I have all the food that I need.
for breakfast I had total yog with oat bran, it was very hard to eat! Lunch is turkey slice with cottage cheese and steak for dinner, 2 litres of water and 20 minutes of the 30 day shred level one. Does this sound about right?

and you're right - yoghurt + oatbran is foul... get thee cooking!

Totally fell of the wagon, so starting again tomorrow more determined than ever, with the partner in tow, it was so hard with him eating what he likes and some assignments to do so all I did was reach out for the chocolate.
so very focused to start tomorrow got everything I need in, next assignments are due in 15 days that's when I'll struggle the most, my toddler who is 2.5 years old loves to bake so we will have to put that on hold for a while.

still got 2 stones to lose dukan website says I should hit my target weight of 8st 11 by mid may, so I need to get going 19 weeks till the wedding argh...
still not found the right dress, everyone keeps saying you'll know the one when you put it on but I've tried so many on that I find it hard to believe so we shall see.

and how did we ever decide to plan a wedding in 5 months I will never know so stressful argh!!!!!!

Enough rambling on

Elinya, do you like porridge? If so maybe have your oat bran made into porridge with skimmed milk and sweetener - I love it otherwise look at making the gallette - recipe in the book and somewhere on this website again a nice way to use the oat bran.... Once you are on cruise maybe look at making muffins with your oat bran - my four year old loves them and we make them together every other day!!!! There are several different recipes on here for them but you will need silicone moulds for sure as the mixture sticks to anything else...... Good to have your partner on board - go for it!! x

Trudyc thank you for the ideas, muffins- that sound like a great idea, we will definitely have to do that, I was only yesterday looking at silicone moulds but never picked them up, will go shopping at the weekend with the flower girl dresses I have seen, I hope they fit and look ok on the girls!
Will have to try the porridge to but your only allowed 1 and half tablespoons of oat bran does that make enough porridge?
Have you tried the dukan bread, my partner is all ready missing bread hehe :)

Day one attack..

breakfast- none was rushing around and forgot
lunch- turkey slices with low fat cottage cheese and a yogurt activia vanilla
dinner- prawns with more cottage cheese and yougurt with oat bran

2 litres of water and 20 min shred

Elinya - your menu isn't great... I don't think you've eaten enough protein, even for your weight. Activia yogs aren't great on attack. Best stick to Total 0% and flavour yourself. Here's hoping you've better things planned for today!

The muffins are brilliant as you can flavour them with whatever you fancy (sweetener + whatever, if you want sweet; I prefer savoury, so tend to put smoked salmon or a crabstick in). You can bake several days at a time and they freeze well. I don't find the amount of oatbran sufficient for porridge personally, no.

Good luck!

Maintainer is right definately not enough protein - fill your boots - I made the mistake of having fat free activia and Yeo Valley fat free (which is full of sugar) at the start but thankfully it didn't affect my weight loss but it can for some people - I also use muller ff yoghurt in my muffin recipe and always have done but others have used natural yoghurt and flavouring!!! I make my porridge using one tablespoon of oatbran and I find it lovely but could eat double the amount!!! LOL! Attack is hard going but a great kick start but keep reaching for that pure protein - eggs, chicken, steak etc!!!! x
