So i hve 6 stones to lose. im at 16.5 kilos want to drop to 10.5.
I'm on day 4 of attack. Yesterday I bought total yogurt believing it being 0%, I had half the pot only to look carefully at it and realising it wasn't 0% at all. Yelp!!!hope this doesn't set me back too much. But I'm just gonna carry on with it what's done is done.

Hello canan81

I had a small boo boo as well during attack - didnt know i wasnt allowed tolerated items and ended up eating some fat free cocoa powder in a dukan biscuit (with corn flour as well). i personally dont think it affected my loss.

hope you are back on track now.

all the best!

:)

Hi Bonkers, thanks its not going too badly at all.
I started cruise phase yesterday with a pv and boy did i appreciate those veggies. Lol
My weight loss is really slow I haven't had huge lumps come off.
I'm not feeling very hungry but I try to eat when I can. Today I had pack of prawns dipped in fat free fomage fraise. For lunch and grilled chicken for dinner.

Looking forward to pv day tomorrow. Hope everyone's doing well.

Hahaha! The first slice of tomato on day 1 of cruise - oh so much bliss!!! I bet all of us will remember that moment for a long long time ....

Glad to hear it's going well on the eating front.

I have read quite a few instances where initial weight losses were slow but picked up once the body settled into cruise. So I'm sure all will be good soon.

You can also post your menus on here for a few days and the dukan experts on minimins will be able to advise if it's all within plan.

xx

That's good to know about how the weight comes off.
I eat a lot of smoked salmon and then read salmon isn't limitless. :((
What at the rules on a roast dinner? As long as I keep away from potatoes and carrots will it be ok. I am worried about how the roast are cooked I.e how much butter/fat is added.

Hi canan

I know that smoked salmon can cause a stall due to high salt content. And too much salt intake is never good for anyone.

But nowhere does the diet limit the amount of fish you can eat. Oily fish included.

Saw that you asked the question about roast in the forum and mini responded. So hope you ok now.

Personally in the beginning I was very strict with sticking to the rules. It's only when I started working out everyday and learning what my body liked and didn't like did I start making small allowances - like eating a chicken (skinless) at nandos n not caring about the sauce or oil.

But this does not mean what worked for me will work for others. You need to listen to your body. I found that the longer I stayed away from small "cheats" the more weight I lost and found it motivating to stick to the diet and no turning back.

Let us know how dinner went xx

I'm gonna try and stay away from smoked salmon, I think it's more for the convenience of it rather than for the love of it. :)
Dinner went well I thought. Had skinless roast turkey, for veg I had Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, few carrots and swede. I drizzled a very small amount of gravy which is prolly an absolute sin on this diet, and il prolly pay the price on the scales soon enough. Oh and I also had small amount of mint sauce. All things considering, I think I did really well, normally when I go out for a carvery, my plate would have been three times the load, including a huge yorkshire and a load of roast potatoes.
Bonkers I plan on doing exactly the same at nandos next week. I didn't think they added any oil to plain chickens, but il be taking the skin off all the same.
Weight loss is still very slow on scales, hope I haven't set myself back too much with the gravy today. However looking in the mirror I feel like im shrinking, dunno if it's psychological.
Emotionally I fancy a huge tub of chocolate ice cream (my downfall) Lol. Life is life and then some..if you get what I mean. Other than my weight there's so many other things I'm battling with. I just hope I can stick to this.
Hope everybody else is doing good. And bonkers thank you soo much for your support, I can't even begin to say how much I appreciate it. :))
Have a good evening.

Hi Canan

Good on the dinner choices - and i wouldnt worry about the gravy or sauce, as long as they were minimal, they will be used up soon.

How is the weightloss progressing? How slow? What cruise rhythm are you doing?

And about Nandos - i was surprised as well. I even asked them if they could do it without the oil but no no.. again i live in the middle east and they make up rules as they go so who knows, where you are they may actually be nice :p.

There are loads of Dukan desert recipes online... chocolate ones even. I have not yet tried any ice cream recipe but i have made cakes and biscuits and eat them all the time. Sugar free jello can be your best friend and seriously helps with the cravings.

Have a lovely and successful Dukan day xx

When I weighed myself yesterday morning I was showing a loss of half a kilo on top of 2 kilos. I wanted to cry this morning, when I got in the scales was showing that I'd put the whole thing back on again and I'm back where I started. I'm so disheartened. I know this diet works cause I saw it with my own eyes in a friend. However im having doubts weather it's gonna work for me.
I'm on 1:1 cruise routine. With a pv day yesterday - which consisted of oat bran porridge for breakfast.
Stirfry orange bell pepper, 2 small tomatoes, packet of large prawns onions and two eggs, fried with daily allowance of 1tsp of olive oil, eaten with total 0%. (This was a large portion and I felt full half way through but had the lot with the no limits in mind). For dinner I had 2 salmon fillet pieces left over from day before with some more fat free yogurt. I had black coffee, tea and sparkling water and usual dose of still water.
Before bed I had cup of tea with a dukan oat bran bar as a tolerated food for the day. I was really hoping to get on the scales and see further progress but it wasn't the case. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Unfortunately I'm not doing any exercise but neither did my friend and she lost tons of weight.
I'm not finding the dieting part very difficult and this could become a way of eating for me, but I was hoping there would have been some reward. :(
I am gonna stick to it for a month and see how the weight loss goes. This is only my 7th day of cruise.
Has anybody else has a really rubbish start to this diet and maybe saw the benefits later? Really need some motivation.

I'm sorry to see you're having a hard time of it. Could you fill out
Most of us here are "old school" Dukan and so, looking at your food plan, I'd drop the olive oil (try the 0% cal spray rather...) and the Oat bran bar. Otherwise I'd say you were fine. I presume you only had two tablespoons oatbran in your porridge and that you used skimmed milk (sorry to state the obvious).

Post your menus each day - breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks etc. Do you like chicken? Remember that, even on PV days, your protein levels need to be high. Try to picture your plate divided into three: two thirds should be protein and only a third veg.

I'm sure that increase will be water retention and it'll come off quickly. Many other factors can cause fluctuations (time of month, slow transit errr constipation very common to the diet, salt...) so please don't despair just yet.

Keep posting!

Hi canan

I agree with Maintainer. Drop all tolerated/fat from your food for a couple of weeks till your body adjusts.

And its normal for the scale to show a gain the day after PV - all that water retention! It disappears soon though (you will notice increased visits to expel the water on or after the next PP day). And with the lack of fiber in our diet, we are not very regular - which also shows on the scales.

Try not to weigh daily - that's something I learnt when I kept seeing different numbers on the scales and got upset every morning! Started doing weekly weigh-ins (on Sun) with the occasional sneak peeks :p.

On the exercise front, I feel that although Dukan insists on it, it is a personal decision. I couldn't move very well in the first two weeks of the diet, but once I started feeling lighter and less bloated (and all that protein energy) I wanted to exercise. You will get there as well one day so I would not stress about it.

Hope you having a better day today xx... Looking forward to hearing how it goes.

Hey canan

How is it going?

Hi girls.
Thank you for your recommendations.
I'm still sticking to it, I've swapped the olive oil for the 0cal spray. And may have a tolerated item every other day. I haven't lost any more weight. Seems like my weight is stubbornly staying in the same place. Feel like I really wanna see something happening now. I even added in a half hour walk the other day. Lol.
I hardly go to the toilet, but when I do it's not uncomfortable, which i thought was what constipation was. I've added rhubarb and psyllium seed husk powder to help my with that and occasionally take a laxative.
So yeh despite yesterday being a pp day, and several days since last weigh in, I haven't lost a single pound.
Yesterday I had 2tblsp oat bran porridge with sweetener an skimmed milk breakfast.
For lunch - 2 no oil added fried eggs with dried coriander leaf sprinkled in, slice of salmon and 0% cottage cheese (sainsburys be good to yourself range).
For dinner half a skinless grilled chicken. Beverages - 3/4 cups of coffee with skimmed milk. Water and diet coke.
Could it be possible that I'm not getting enough protein? I followed Cambridge diet before and used to see results with it, but just found it incredibly hard to stick to. I'm finding this is certainly easier to follow.
Gonna try really hard to get some more exercise in. Which I don't think is gonna happen. The weather in London is miserable, I'm depressed with no sugar in my system lol. Oh I dunno.
Pv day today, so far started with usual porridge. And a cup of almost black coffee.
My little girl is off school sick today. She's so supportive with my diet bless her.
Thank you again for the support you girls are giving. I am gonna try and put daily diet in, see if im doing something wrong. Many many thanks.

It is unusual not to see any loss as your menu looks fine to me. Increasing the protein intake would probably help as the heavier we are now, the more protein we need to eat to lose. If you find it difficult to eat more, try planning meals with starter, main and even pud!
Looking forward to seeing your full menus
x

I am sorry that you are not seeing any losses yet. Have you taken measurements? Maybe you are loosing inches but still retaining water and therefore not showing on the scale?

What day have you set for your weekly weigh-in?

Hi Canan

Just checking in. Hope you doing good xx

Ok so just wanted to touch base here, so far so good. Lost a total of 16 kilos that's around 32lbs and just over 2 stones. I have another 40lbs to lose to get to my true weight (gasp).
Was really gutted to find out goats milk wasn't allowed. :((
Well on with the show. And I sure am breaking a leg ;)) lol

Glad to hear you're sticking with it and well done on the loss!

Hey canan

Welcome back and good going on the loss!

I know it feels like a big impossible number. Take it one day at a time and break into mini goals - you will get there!

Let us know how you get on xx
