Getting back to being me

Day one

so far it's going ok, I've been reading up on dukan with my two books and trawling my way through the dukan forum.

Im having a bit of an off day and woke up with a migraine so I've not really been with it.

So far I've had 1.5ltrs of water (aiming for 3ltrs)
dukan galette made with one egg, fat free quark and my allowance of oat bran
tuna mixed with pepper and quark

dinner tonight is going to be crispy chicken wings.

I will normally ally be snacking on more bits and bobs of protein but I feel so rotten this is all I can bring myself to stomach.

All the recipes are out of my dukan book, looking forward to the chicken!

Good luck on your first day, Bella, and looking forward to reading your journey!

Hope the migraine clears - plenty of water xxx

Thank you for your kind words, it is my first time doing dukan, I feel like there are lots of things to learn. But it does keep me full I must admit, I think the soybean is a good idea. Today's diary plan Breakfast: Oatbran galette Snack: total 0% yogurt Lunch: spicy Chicken Snack: prawns Dinner: Thai salmon and prawn broth Haven't felt too bad so far :)

Update: really didn't fancy dinner as it was so late when I got in from work so had some natural fat free yogurt, I know lots of people need flavouring in it or fruit but I genuinely love the stuff on it's own. Note to self: don't eat too much of it!

Oh. I don't think I could live without them. I like the complete cookbook because there are so many ideas, and it all seems to make lots of little dishes, so rather then 3 meals it's more like a little buffet throughout the day ?

Well I have a lot to lose so was going to aim for 7 days, my biggest problem is I'm out for a family birthday on Saturday at a Sri Lankan restaurant, I've had a look at the menu and it's all currys, no meat dishes that aren't covered in sauce. I'm wondering how I can get away with it without anyone noticing me not really eating.

How have you been getting on? X

ok I'm not that well travelled & have never eaten in one, but when I go to an Indian restaurant there are loads of dishes without the sauce. I would have chicken tikka instead of massala and it comes with a salad, or a shashlik is just all different meats like an Indian mixed grill with no sauce also with a salad...there are bound it be dishes like that, or if not ring up before hand and ask what dishes do you serve dry without sauces...or just request one when you're there....just have salad if you have started PV or without if not.....and a big jug of water to wash it down with :)

my friend in work that was inspired when I lost her weight lost 7 stone in just under 12 months if that's any good...at my heaviest I was 16 stone....and 9st 10 at my lightest all lost with dukan and slimming world at the start...

It's going well atm haven't cheated yet...

Wow well done! I've just found your diary and have subscribed, love the name of yours too! I think we all have that pair of jeans we want to fit back in. In my case it's all of them! The lightest I have ever weighed was 12 stone and I was a size 12, didn't appreciate it at all as all my friends were size 6 and 8. Now I'd give anything to be that small. Dukan have set me the goal of 13st 9lbs and I'm more then sure I'll be happy with that once I'm there x

I am developing and unhealthy love for fat free yogurt. I've never really
Liked the sweeter ones but my word! I am in love with simple plane stuff. Must restrain myself as I can't eat as much as I want too!

Ha ha....it's a good thing to have an unhealthy interest in though :)

i know exactly what you mean about not appreciating your weight at the time!!! V annoying :/

Hello there and welcome,

Chicken wings don't sound as if you'd get much actual meat to eat... and all that skin ewh! :) I'd steer clear if I were you.

Good luck and don't hesitate to ask any questions...

Hi, thanks for the advice, it was a recipe out of the dukan cook book for the attack phase so I assumed it was fine, and it was only one meal of three wings, as I said I had a migraine that day so wasn't stomaching much food so was picking at things I'd made for the week ahead. X

Good luck with your journey - am currently 4 days into Dukan - on a ten day attack phase.

Hope the migraine thing doesn't hurt too much, although I know on the few occasions I have had a migraine, I haven't wanted to eat at all!

Hi Bella!

Just saying hello and subscribing to your diary :)

thanks everyone! :) Yesterday was hard because the husband had a bad day and wanted dominos instead of the Thai broth I'd planned to make, so he had that and I had my soup. Luckily it kept him up all night and have him weird dreams so it put me off ever having pizza that late and I think it's put him off too. Today is going to be a bit mish mash. B: yogurt L: left over Thai broth with prawns D: salmon and white fish baked in the oven with a dukan spicy dressing S: probably yogurt, maybe some chicken.

Awesome work resisting the Dominos! It invariably smells better than it tastes, and the tummy reprocussions are totally not worth it ;)

When you get to Cruise you can make a Cauliflower Crust Pizza - delicious and good for you :)

Oh I've made one of those before thy are lurvly! Even the husband likes them and he hates cauliflower! The recipe I did was from I quit sugar, so it might not be 100% dukan friendly but I'll a just it xx

Cauliflower crust pizza??? That will be one to try, then!

I'm liking the sound of that pizza...
