5:2 Diet with Dukan Principles

Hi guys,

I've been on the Dukan Diet since June 11th and I find that once you slip-up, it is so hard to get back into the usual routine of just eating protein. I have been able to lose just over a stone but the last 11lbs are becoming a pain to get rid of

I have decided to kickstart my diet again by fasting for two consecutive days (500 cals each day) and then using Dukan principles to eat on the rest of the days...I.e. low fat, low carb. I will eat vegetables each day and will ensure that some form of exercise is implemented.

I'm now on my 5th day of the Insanity workout so will definitely be completing all 60 days of it, as I can already feel that my stomach muscles are stronger from the inside.

If this way of dieting has a negative effect on my weightloss, I will cut out the Dukan way completely and just opt for low carb meals.

Let the games begin :D

Day 1 (Fast day)

B: No food, 3 glasses of water
L: Tuna Shirataki Noodle Bake
D: Tuna Shirataki Noodle Bake, salad and a Dukan dessert.
S: Sugar-free jelly

E: Insanity Day 5

So the scales are down this morning (even though I snacked on 100g of popcorn last night ).

Fast day 2 - Will eat one big lunch

4 x grilled prawn skewers and a big salad
1 x sugar free jelly (if my mouth gets bored later on)

E: Insanity Day 6 - Cardio Power and Resistance

How are you finding the exercise on fasting days? Do you have the same amount of energy?

Yesterday I had so much energy doing Insanity...more than when I eat normally :-s

Please, be very, very careful.
I tried this last month and I fainted..
This never happened to me while I was on Dukan diet.
So I'm back to consolidation.
Good luck to you and take care.

Given that Dukan is a pretty low calorie diet I would not recommend fasting as well without medical supervision, I cant help but worry that newbies to Dukan will be negatively influenced by this - Elishebas post should serve as a warning.
