Hey all!

I thought it would be good to start an exercise challenge thread. A few of us are thinking about starting the Insanity workouts next week, and it would be great if loads of other people could join in too! It doesn't have to be Insanity, just whatever you fancy that will be a challenge.

As we are getting close to Christmas, that can be our target - to look smokin' hot in our xmas party dresses!

I'm going to suggest an Insanity start date of Monday 15th October (with the fit test), and following the programme means the end date will be Sunday 16th December. If you don't fancy Insanity maybe you could do one of the following:
- two rounds of 30 day shred
- couch to 5k or 10K
- local gym/ exercise classes
- other workout DVD's! ..... you get the idea!

Please join in!!!! I'm so bad at starting things like this and then giving up, so let's keep each other motivated!

Anybody interested? Please!!!!
:Dxx

Oh and use my exercise bike 30-40 mins every other day

If there were more hours in a day Im sure Id fit more in!

Err ok then. I am going to be having a go at Zumba on Saturday, toned down for kids, but will be just right for me....its actually a sponsor so I'm looking forward to it. I have previously found some you tube videos for zumba, so will have a go at them, I'll kick hubby out of hte room so i can do them LOL. and I will get my routine with the vibration plate going too, as thats been abandoned for a few weeks now.

Right, I'm in! I promise to try to...
* do 5 workouts a week, either insanity or boot camp/ body pump / spinning at the gym (I'm already pretty active on the weekend)
* cycle to work every day unless its pouring down
* take the fit test this Sunday and add my results to my signature, so I can track my progress.

Thanks ceri, and let the games begin!

Sounds good DF! I've never tried zumba, so you'll have to let me know how you get on. Do the vibration plates actually work? They seem too good to be true!x

Yay, glad you're in!!! :)x

Right, who's getting sweaty today???

I'm doing a bit of a pre-Insanity warmup over the next few days, and I'm going to complete a 2 mile run after work this evening. I'll report back later (if I survive!!!).

Ok, just got back from my run (in the rain!), and I ran 2.6 miles and burnt off 270 calories (according to my Nike+ running app). I was originally only planning on running 2 miles, but I got lost and ended up running around a few cul-de-sac's and having to run back the way I came again. I don't have the best sense of direction....

Feeling amazing now! Exercise is such a great way to de-stress.

I've never done it either and this one has been toned down for the kids, but what I was watching last week looked good. Just need to convince my friend to do a class for us now mums now LOL

The vibration plate was originally bought for my hubby cos of his knee problems, it was something he used in physio. I quite like it, but forget and haven't done it properly for over a month. I did use it daily for hte first few weeks of the diet. Its very relaxing and doing the different types of exerscise on it are quite good. I wrote out a plan a few weeks ago doing a little after each meal so will dig that out and do it from Monday onwards.

Only 2 days to go until I start Insanity (again!).

Today I'm going to the gym for 1 hour and then have a sauna. Yesterday I had my gala meal, and it was pretty excessive - half a large texas BBQ pizza from Dominos, half a portion of potato wedges and wine! I NEED TO SWEAT THE DOMINOS OUT OF MY BODY, FAST!!!! Here is what I plan to do at the gym:
- 20 minutes on the treadmill at a pace of 10km/h
- 10 minutes on the rowing machine
- 100 sit ups, 50 push ups
- various weight machines
- 5 minutes on the bike to cool down

Is anybody else exercising today? My power track today (the song you play on your iPod when you're flagging), is going to be Muse - Survivor.

Let's do this!

I am sort of. Its our sponsored Zumba this afternoon. Kids and parents, raising money for little girl with cancer. I've only ever done a demo of zumba, and DD has done the practice in dance class. I'm a little worried to be honest as i don't know how I am going to cope with half an hour of it solid. Last night I did a track off you tube, I enjoyed it but was puffed at the end of it. I know usually people can sit out during the time, but this is going to be on show and people will be watching us do it. Oh well, can't back out now and I realy do want to try it. Plus its toned down for the kids, so hopefully it won't be too bad LOL.

I am going to get my vib plate routine printed out and put near the machine. And looking for more little you tube zumba clips to do. There was a good one done by a student at Hull College, its 50 min long, but can easily do a few songs at a time LOL. Once I feel confident with this I am going to go walking more then running. Thats the plan, build it up a little at a time.
