    WHAT TO LOOK FOR CONFUSED

Okai Dukaners help needed a little confused,

I have been trying to look for fat free cheese, yogurts and feta cheese and the lot suitable for the Dukan Diet but a little confused as i dont seen to get them all, but what do i need to look for, Some Fat free products are extremely higher in carb and sugar (no sugar in the ingredients) and less fat as they are fat free. When searching what do i need to be carefull about: eg

    Hi Msajuma

Keep it simple for yourself - the list of acceptable foods is in the book. Fat free natural yoghurt and Quark (fat free cheese) - that's all you need to remember.

    Feta cheese is not permitted.

    Hope this helps

No... the 30g of the extra lite is "tolerated" sporadically but it's best to stay away at the outset.

If you want a soft spread thing that kind of does for cheese, try quark. It's fat free and has no sugars apart from dairy ones so its allowed. Doesn't taste of much but it's ok. I spread it on slices of beef with a tiny bit of chopped gherkin and roll it up, then slice it into little nibbles. saves me from the crisp packet! also ok on dukan bread and galettes. waitrose sell it, not sure whether I've seen it in tesco or sainsburys.

and I make my muffins with it.

Tescos, Morrisons and Asda all sell quark, averages about 75-90p a tub depending where you go. I buy it and flavour it with lemon juice and herbs for salads, spices for meats. Sweetner as a cream substitute for jelly and muffins.

EL LF Philly is only a tolerated and I have found that if used too much it doesnt help weight loss at all.

EL Laughing Cow triangles aren't too bad though, I use one in cauli to mix as a cauli cheese. I also use the triangles to spread on omlette wraps with beef or ham.

Cottage cheese is another lo fat cheese alternative which most of us use for a lot of things.

In the UK shops there isn't anything i have found that comes within the 5% cheese rule. Beccs did find a rosemary conley one online but its expensive and you can only have 30g as your tolerated for the day.

It can be confusing, but seriously look for the lowest fat options you can. Once you have an idea on low fat, then maybe check out the carbs and get the lowest in that as the next figure to look at. stick to the list of foods in the book, until you've got yourself fully into the swing of the diet and then look around on here or google to see what other people use. But, remember what works for you isn't what always works for someone else.
