My Dukan Journey

Hi Everyone!
I'm new on here but 3.5 weeks into Dukaning. I lost 4.8lbs wk1, 1.2lbs wk2 but only 0.2lb last week (I weigh on a Wednesday), so I was browsing the internet looking for things like ... which yoghurts are best, what about ham, etc etc and came across this site. Hopefully I'll be able to pick up some tips and keep on the straight and narrow despite disappointing weigh-ins.
I think my body is probably quite diet resistant after the way I've abused it over the years. I'm 58 now. The first time I joined a slimming club I was 20 and weighed 10st 7lbs .... Oh My! What I wouldn't give to have never started! That's where I want to be now! Over the (very many) dieting years I've been as high as 15st9.5lbs and as low as 8st10lbs. I seem to be able to stabilise around 10 and a half for a while before going up again. Or I should say I USED to be able to. The older you get the harder it gets - that's just a fact unfortunately.
Anyway, this time I think I managed to put the brakes on before it all got TOO much out of hand, but I do have a little way to go. I hope, with your help (?) I'll be able to stick at it and hopefully offer some support as well.

By the way - re the yoghurts ... it seems that 0% natural, flavoured myself may be the way to go .... - this could be where I've been going wrong. Up to now I've had Shape vanilla and vanilla with choc sprinkles, Muller coconut greek style and Activia vanilla. The Activia were the lowest added sugar that I could find so thought I'd done the right think changing from the Shape ones but reading posts on here it seems that may have been a bad decision. I have 1 a day for 4 days a week and 2 a day on the other 3 when I take one to work as well as having one in the evening.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and I look forward to any comments and tips you may have.

Reik, Welcome loads of advice on hear its a very friendly forum. The Yoghurt question is the one everyone asks its confusing. Yes if you can natural 0% yoghurt flavoured yourself is the best way to go tbh your weight loss with what you've been eating looks fine to me as for your sight weight loss last week lots of things could have contributed to that but if you have the same results next week then defo cut them out and try natural yoghurt. I would also advise writing your menus hear on MM for us to see we might pick of something your missing. Look forward to 'meeting' you good luck xxx

Ooops sorry. ... Wrong thread

Thanks for you replies. I may do that - log my menus ... I don't think I'm doing anything 'wrong' but you never know. :)

Reiki lady, are you a practising therapist ???? I am curious xxx

Sort of :) I don't advertise or anything but I practise and teach when asked, by word of mouth. I have a dedicated room in my home which I'm actually just off to find new carpet for - can't wait to have the room finished so I can have my peaceful space back. Are you interested in therapies? X

My friend is, and I was her case study on the boing method don't know if I spelt that right and found it really helpful, her 'room' was so peaceful and had running water and the music that she played just put me in such a state of total relaxation I loved it.

I think its Bowen but I don't know much about that. They all have the relaxation bit in common which is lovely. I don't have running water in my room (think that would make want to wee ;)) but candles, incense, music ....... Oooooo, making me miss my room more! Ordered the carpet though so it shouldn't be too much longer :)

Congrats on your weight loss!! Nearly there :D. You've done soooo well and been very consistent judging by your signature info. I hope I can stick at to so well. My downfall is that I love a little voddie & coke. I've gone 'sober for October' in aid of Macmillan cancer support but after the end of the month I know I'll really want to have a little tipple :(. X

I'm a Gin and slim lush. total stopped drinking for my first three months in which I had my best losses but always have a tipple on a Saturday, so we all have our little demons, some crisps some chocolate.......

Wow! 3 months ... That's dedication for you. I guess it comes down to what's more important. I hope I can keep it up as well but I somehow doubt it :-/

Fan blomin tastic xxx

Thank yooo. I won't do as well next week because I finish my Go Sober for October month tomorrow and will DEFFO be having a tipple at the weekend!! The voddie's in the fridge and the coke zero in the cupboard!! Food wise I'm not having any issues though. No cravings, hardly ever hungry and when I am I eat something - a piece of meat, a spoonful of cottage cheese, whatever. Long may that continue!!

Well done xxx
