The short of it is... I'm in agony, it's been 4 weeks :(

What type? I got the mirena coil 6 months ago. You should not feel pain after the first few days - I'd go and see the doctor, wookie, just to be on the safe side.

The 10 year copper one. Having it put in was the most painful experience of my life and I'm no wimp! It's been non stop bleeding and the pains so bad sometimes my leg goes funny, like sciatica type pain. I've got a check up appointment next week. I can't have hormone contraception so this was my only hope lol

I know it's no excuse but it's got me feeling down which means I'm eating sweets so breaking my diet. Then that makes me feel worse.

I know I can stick to dukan as I've done it before!

Really got to sort it out :(

Feel for you... Hope it gets sorted soon x

Oh no! that doesn't sound right..... Hope you get it sorted! I was scared of the whole iud thing and am on mini pill Cerezette.... Take every day, no break and periods stop altogether... BINGO, xxxxxxxx

I can't be trusted with the pill.... Hence my daughter lol! X

I took the pill for years but was advised to stop when I hit 40. I must admit it's great not to have to remember pills everyday, and no periods anymore either. I had pain on the first day of insertion but nothing after that, so I guess I was one of the lucky ones. But I do think it was one of the reasons for me gaining weight this year, though. I here it can take 6 to 12 months for your body to fully adjust, so I'm almost there!

I have to see an other dr next week, the nurse said the threads were in place, but it sounds like I have sciatica, and that could he caused by the iud? Sounds like I need a ultra sound just to check all is ok x

Hmm... Seems like sciatica would be a very different kind of pain, though? Hope they can resolve it with the ultrasound. I had to go for one too as they couldn't find the threads and needed to check the position. Good luck!
