Morning all! after a nice start to the dukan and a solid 8lbs lost ive plateaued for the last 2 weeks dispike LOADS of exercise and following pp days 4 days (monday-thursday) 2 days pv (friday & saturday) then cracking Saturday evening and drinking too much and being a bit naughty on sunday :-(

I am feeling de motivated and think im going too wildly off track because of how strict it is....a friend has just started at a local slimming world group and im highly tempted to join her (obviously avoiding carbs as much as possible!)

Has anyone got any advice on this?!xx

What are you eating daily?

I personal found and seen on here weight stalls with...
Two many fizzy drinks
Two much jelly
Seafood sticks
Processed foods
Too much dairy (massive Starbucks type drinks)
Water retention

Try replacing all water with green tea for three days as suggested on the dukan site.

If you are doing allot of exercise that could explain no weight loss although you would lose cms...

Plus, dukan is a diet that works on switching your energy source from sugar to fat, changing to slimming world could mean weight might come back due to going back to sugar burning. If you change try keep your carb intake between 50g and 70g a day (under 50g is ketosis) so you keep fat burning. A better diet to follow from this would be a paelo, primal or keto diet really, As it's similar xz

I don't know slimming world, but would not suggest you switch after all the great progress you've made so far... Stalling for 2 weeks isn't bad if you've been doing more exercise and had a few big nights and cheats (I often stall when I start exercising: muscle weighs more than fat, etc etc.)

If you're finding dukan too strict, maybe you need to do more experimenting with different recipes? I think it's more relaxed than a lot of diets, to be honest... Have you tried some dukan friendly desserts like frozen yoghurt, smoothies, custard trifle, chocolate mousse... ?

It also depends what kinds of things you're missing, and what foods you enjoy. The best diets are the ones that are closest to your natural eating patterns, I think. I don't miss bread, rice, pasta etc. at all, and I love meat, fish and dairy, so I can stick to dukan quite easily. Well, except for my massive sweet tooth, of course :)

You have to find what works for you, catz, but if you do sneak off to the dark side for a bit, we'll always welcome you back here, you know!

weight comes back with SW, i know, ive tried it and ive put weight back on. you need to experiment with the recipes, use loads of herbs and spices to flavour things up. im coming back to Dukan it does work if you plan everything. x
