Sick of the same foods?

As a restarter, I've pretty much picked up where I left off in terms of my food choices, and to my horror I'm finding ham & 5% fat minced beef that I used to live off, turn me right off. I literally have a few mouthfuls and I can't face anymore :eek:

I've got the Dukan recipe book out & I think Ill have to be quite creative as I'm quite a fussy eater and out of the 72 allowed foods I enjoy about 15 of these!!

Anyone else had the same problem? Any solution.

I'm a restarter, did Dukan up until finding out I was pregnant and have restarted yesterday.

my favourite foods for attack/PP are-
oatbran porridge, dippy eggs and bacon/chicken/steak/sausage soldiers, omelette with ham and tiny bit of onion, marinated chicken skewers, chicken breast stuffed with lightest philly wrapped with bacon, beef cooked in slow cooker, marinated salmon fillets (aldi do a nice pack of 2 for about £2.69, marinated in garlic and chilli, just pop in microwave for 5 mins) babybel burgers (EL mince, spices herbs and bit of onion make into a burger around a light babybel and grill) tuna and pickled onions. Gosh there's loads!

PV I like Dukan chilli con carne with cauliflower rice, chicken curry with cauliflower rice, huge salads with ham, eggs, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, beetroot, pickled onions, grated carrot, celery etc. chicken/beef casserole, big breakfast of bacon, sausage, eggs, mushrooms and tinned tomatoes. Dukan Sunday dinner with meat, vegetables and carrot and swede for mash. Big veggie omelette. chicken, pepper, onion, mushroom and cherry tomato skewers! Steak, eggs and mushrooms. Chicken fajitas with galette as a wrap.

seriously that hat has been an amazing help!!! Perhaps I'm not the fussy eater I thought I was because apart from the mushrooms I love all of the above!!!! Plus I shop in Aldi so will have to invest in those skewers.....

I think yesterday I felt light headed & dizzy & so lacking in energy all because I wasn't eating enough protien in general because of the same foods I used to eat turning on me...

amazing ideas for PP days!!! Thank you!! I'm not so bad on the PV days as they are what keep me going....just a question about light babybel & lightest Philadelphia... Are these allowed? On PP & PP? If so I will be ecstatic!!

I may invest in a slow cooker too...how do you cook cauliflower rice? Sounds good.... I think my problem is I have a very old dukan book and things might have changed in terms of tolerated foods etc....

Really glad that's helped :)

I've just checked online and it says- you can have 2 tolerated items in cruise, 1 tolerated item would be one babybel or 30g philly extra light, so technically you could have 2 per day, but it you find your weight loss stalling then it could be down to tolerated items (I still lost weight while eating these) :)

The slow cooker just makes the meat really soft and tender, you can also do curries, stews, bolognaise etc in the slow cooker :)

Cauliflower rice is literally just cauliflower grated or blended slightly to resemble rice, put in a bowl (no water) and microwave for a few mins until nice and soft, you can also make it into "egg fried rice" by chucking it in the wok/frying pan and scrambling an egg into it :)

Ive done 3 days attack and starting cruise today :) weighed this morning & lost 5.4 lbs in 3 days, I know this is water weight but it's given me a real boost!! It's the first time I've only done 3 days attack but I've got 23lbs to lose and that's what it suggested on the website.

4 weeks ago I joined slimming world because My sister has lost 2.5 stone on it, but I lost 6lb in 3 weeks, and compared to dukan it felt sooooo slow...also because you are allowed a certain amount of treats a day I felt it was too much flexibility and I couldn't control myself...Because the rules are simple & restrictive with Dukan I'm much better on it & it's the only thing that works for me (determined to do the 4 stages this time round)

Are you being coached? When you said you checked online I wondered what website you went on...Are you still on attack?

Wow that's amazing! Good start :)

You'll lose 23lbs in no time, you could do that in 2 months :) I've got about 20lbs to lose, but would be happy just getting back into the 10s for now :)

I've been dabbling with slimming world too since having my little boy but I can't seem to stick to it because of the amount of food you can have!

I feel the same as you about Dukan, I like being told what I can and can't eat, I like the simplicity! It's very easy to follow too :)

No not being coached it's a rip off lol, just googled it and loads of threads come up on the subject and all of them said the same about the cheese :) I google everything! Haha!

I'm on day 2 of attack, aiming to try and do a full week as id like to lose 6lbs in my first week to get me into the 10s :) xxx
 
Yes you'll do that easy... You sound like a pro! Actually we have similar weight loss aims & similar start dates & both restarters!!

Congratulations on having you're baby boy... Saying that he could be about 5 now!! Ha ha... I found slimming world great for family cooking but I get the feel good factor without carbs...I can feel instant results... I don't know about you but people in work think I'm mad doing he Dukan... That's one downside to dukan is the negativity from other people saying omg I could never just eat meat!! They weren't saying that when I lost 47lbs first time round in 2011... In fact 2 people from work went on dukan after me and lost loads...

good old google...I'm seriously ecstatic about the cheese though!!! You'll be telling me I can have alcohol next!!!!!! Now that would be good ;)

Sorry to jump in, but I couldn't agree more! I spend ages trying to make my lunch at work look "normal" to avoid the comments from others. I had another friend who cannot stand cottage cheese and just went on and on about how doing the Dukan diet made her feel disgusting... but for me, it really is the only thing that has ever worked, and given me fast encouraging results.

Now, thankfully the results are speaking for themselves, and people are asking "how I did it". Honestly, sometimes, I don't really go into to many details. I know I should, but sometimes, I don't want the backlash of ... "oh I could never eat that much meat!". So I usually just say I'm watching my fat and my carbs, just having one portion of carbs a day (the oatbran). I know it's lazy... when it's close friends, I'm more honest, but this diet does have a pretty bad rep :(

i know!! It does have a bad reputation, but when people say oh that's a really unhealthy diet it's in all the papers, I felt like saying well I don't think when I was 47lb heavier was exactly healthy... All I lived on then was McDonald's :(

Some people are really rude though. I would never criticise anyone else's food choices or diets. The herbalife shakes are all the rage in work with me but I would never say that's disgusting. If it works at losing weight great!

Looking at your stats you're doing amazing!!!! Keep up the good work & ignore the dukan haters :)

I am about to do dukan attack for the first time ever on Monday. I have my shopping list for tomorrow and am feel ready to start and cut the carbs out of my life(can see an awful withdrawal ahead).
I'm a frequent poster on minimins ( normally on Cambridge though ) and find it really useful for support .I have a couple questions to ask if anyone can help me ?:

1. I see you are talking about sausages ,can have these?
2.cream cheese ?
3. What brand of yogurts do people buy? I find the yogurt business a bit confusing
4 can you have pineapple cottage cheese?
5. Bacon has to be turkey bacon is that right
6. Is anyone exercising with dukan ? I want to get back into running 5 times a week

i think leah mentioned burgers made out of extra lean mince, however, even though not in the book, and s a pork product, not allowed in the first 2 phases, I live on sainsurys 3% fat Cumberland sausages....I know it's bending the rules, but I literally eat them every day & work so well so for me....

yes leah checked & you're allowed 30g of Philadelphia extra light twice a day on cruise. It's a tolerated item and you're allowed 2 per day on cruise.

you are allowed bacon as long as all visible fat cut off.

i don't think pineapple cottage cheese allowed because you can't eat fruit on first 2 phases.

i only buy 0% total Greek yogurt and sweeten it myself with sweetener and flavourings that a buy from the dukan shop online.

dr dukan says you have to walk 20 mins per day on attack & either 25 or 30 on cruise can't remember precisely, I always do 30, and it really does make a difference. So you don't have to run, but if you prefer it and you can go for it....

I have just spent the last 2 hours making galette s for the week. I am a bit concerned that I don't really like them ! I'm surprised because I'm not generally that fussy

How does everyone else get their oat bran in ?

Also:

Anyone done dukan without having the oatbran??

Hello,

I made the galettes once and didn't like them so I use my oat bran to make porridge every morning. I pour some skimmed milk in and sweetener microwave for 30 seconds... Then leave for about 5 mins so it absorbs the milk and goes a nice consistency. Tastes like ready brek.

In the book it's compulsory to have your oat bran allowance, as is the 1.5 litres of water and the 20/30 minute walk.

Oatbran is best used to make muffins - they're gorgeous and make you think you're having a real treat!!!! I had muffins nearly every day when I was on cruise and I honestly don't think I would have got to target without them!!

Hi purple,

Plenty of muffin recipes on the mm threads, although you might need to do some digging. Best to experiment with ingredients and quantities: I make 6 muffins using 9tbs oatbran, 3 tbs wheatbran, 1 small tub quark, 5-6 tbs plain yoghurt (or a mueller lite toffee yoghurt), 1tsp baking powder, 3 eggs, Splenda to taste, and whatever flavorings I feel like (cocoa, lemon zest, vanilla essence). Bake at about 170C for 15 mins and let stand for a while. Adding chopped rhubarb makes them go a lot further although not really allowed on pp days.

Enjoy! I discovered muffins a few weeks into dukan (2+ years ago now) and have rarely gone a week without making them!

Well I managed to get to day 6 and I feel very much ....ok. After 5 days on it I was 5.2lbs down so can't complain. I don't know if I'm in ketosis,I feel like I definitely am (airy fairy feeling ) but ketostix say different.
Feeling good without loads of carb in me, forgotten what it felt like !

Today made a weeks worth of bran muffins and some dukan lemon meringues ,the meringues are gorgeous (I was totally surprised !!)

Plan is to finish attack tomorrow , which is then 7 days done and then onto the veg ;). Has anyone found 1/1 ,2/2,3/3,4/4,5/5 better or worse for loss ?

I did 1/1 at first and found that routine easy to get into, although I'd sometimes do 2/2 if I had work or social events that fell on pp days - easier to shuffle days around than explain your meal choices in a restaurant :)

Last year when I dukanned for the 2nd time I'd try and do 3 or 4 pp days in a row, Monday to Thursday, so I could have weekends free for pv. So I really think whatever suits your lifestyle best is fine.

Yes the muffins are ok,think a bit of tweaking and flavouring for the next batch! Cruising from tomorrow ...keen to see what my water/muscle etc is on my scales in the morning one week down
