Attack Galette Recipe

Hi everyone, it is my first day on Dukan and for breakfast I made the well known (well loved) galette. I added cinnamin to sweeten it, it cooked perfectly and everything was going well but found it so dry and therefore unable to eat it. Very sad about this as I know that 1.5 tablespoons of oat bran is a must but I am worried that all of the recipes using oat bran will be just as dry.... any ideas?

Thank you in advance

Hi Amy

Sorry that I can't help you with the galette as I found them dry and unappetising too!

The muffins, however, are a different story ......

Take a look at the recipe thread, there are loads of ideas on there about how to use your daily oatbran allowance.

Enjoy Dukan :D

Thanks Paulinegin, I have the muffin recipe. I was concerned they would be just as dry but I will try them out tomorrow.

I must admit I never found the Galette too bad, but I guess its personal tastes. Try adding slightly more yogurt, I tended to add generous tablespoons. You could use it with cottage cheese or tuna and make it a sandwich instead. Egg is nice with it.

I use 2 generous tablespoons of fromage frais, 2 tablespoons of bran and 1 egg. That means it's not usually too dry. I tend to fold it in half like a flatbread and put some fillings inside it. Ham and mustard and a little cream cheese is nice. Or scrambled eggs is good too.

That actually sounds really nice.... the scrambled egg is a good idea. I thought I was only allowed 1.5 tablespoons of bran a day?

Another question that I want to stick in... I have bought 0% plain yogurt and the ingredients state that there are quite a lot of carbs in it... more than protein... am I allowed this yogurt?

You are allowed 1.5 tbsp of oat bran on attack & 2tbsp in cruise. As long as the yogurt is fat free you are fine.

Good luck x

I dont make the gallettes either, in my opinion they take far too much faffing for not a brilliant tasting result. I make the bread nearly every day or the lovely muffins.

If you add a teaspoon of sweetner its a nice pancakey type thing. I have mine quite thin.

I did put up a recipe the other day for a pancake without the oatbran, was very yummy.

Thank you for the tips I will try them :D

I had cinnamon porridge made with the oat bran this morning. I wasn't convinced that the tiny amount would fill me up but I was pleasently surprised.

Amy I found that, I have it for breakfast now eery other day, with a lo yogurt too its a lovely breakfast. Its the only time of day I have a coffee too, though i used to have half a dozen every day, must admit I haven't really missed it.

Am having a sweet nutmeg galette with goji berries (soaked for 15 min) with some home made yog. Can't wait, hurry up berries and soak. :D

Oh that sounds lovely, I will try with more yogurt.

I am loving the oat bran porridge at the moment though with a pinch of sweetner. :gimi:
