Agnes' diary

Hi everyone,

I'm starting total solutions on Thursday and I thought it would be a good idea to start a diary (never had one before) to keep me going. I lost a lot of weight two years ago doing Cambridge Diet sole source and then put most of it back on. I spent a long time feeling pretty depressed about that and tried weight watchers, gym, had countless failed CD restarts but I really think a VLCD works best for me. I'm having drinks with a friend tomorrow night and then starting on Thursday, I'm really nervous as, although I know what a VLCD is like, this feels like make or break time fore me. I'm 20st 2lb now and want to lose at least 4 stone by Christmas which I think is realistic.

Is there anyone else around who has done Cambridge in the past. How does it compare with Exante?

Cheers
Agnes

Hi, welcome and good luck starting tomorrow Agnes.

Not tried CD so can't help with comparison :hug99: xx

Good luck with starting today, my mum did cambridge before exante and said "its pretty much the same as cambrdge but half the price!"

All I can offer I'm afraid, you'll be fine :)

Hi everyone,

Thanks gigglepants and hol for your comments. Yes, Exante is definitely cheaper than Cambridge, I was paying about £50 a week for Cambridge, and that was two years ago. I was working at the time but I'm a full time student now so I can't really afford Cambridge right now.

Any way... day 1 is done :). I started off with a chocolate shake, it wasn't bad, it's definitely less sweet than Cambridge but I guess that is due to there not being any artificial sweeteners in the Exante (sorry to go on about the Cambridge Diet, I just can't help comparing the two!!). I had a vegetable soup around 5, it was lovely, really tasty and very creamy. Dinner was a chocolate orange bar which was ok, it's not a taste combination I usually like but it was fine actually.

xx

Hi Agnes, I've done CD before & to be honest there is very little difference. Possibly slightly more variety on CD but then we're not here to be "enjoying" food, that's what got most of us here to begin with!!

You can add tablet sweetener to the shakes if you choose, I do sometimes when I have a sugar craving! Well done for starting your journey, you can definitely lose 4 stone by Xmas, best of luck!! :)
