Total Solution Eight Stone to go! Slinky summer here I come...

Hello everyone, I thought I'd start a diary so I can keep track of how I'm progressing. Now I'm not using food to deal with emotions I definitely need somewhere to look back at good days to keep me going.

I weighed 10st at age ten and put on my first diet and went to weight watchers at 12. I was a serial dieter until I tried vlcd In 2009 and I lost 8 stone to get to 13.7 then it just all went on really quickly due to chocolate and takeaways. It may seem strange but being slimmer people treated me differently and it kind of freaked me out. In a way I piled the weight on to feel safer. It wasn't until I realised that I couldn't continue to just get bigger and bigger and more shut off and miserable that I decided to try again and live life this time while I'm losing it instead of waiting until I'm at goal.

I'd also very much like a family which just hasn't happened yet, i'm 40 and I've been married 14 years in September, quite a few people have got pregnant while on vlcd so you never know!

Day 17 and I'm 100%. Coffee and porridge are my perfect start to the day. Orange bar for lunch then carbonara or shake for dinner. Peppermint tea by the pint!

There is fantastic support on this forum, i wish everyone luck on their own journey, however far you have to go.

Breakthrough! My carbonara didnt explode at last ! It was actually yummy.

Goooood morning. Porridge and coffee on my morning off, lovely. I was curious about measurements so I did mine this morning.
Jan 2012. 22st. Bust-55", w-52", tum-63".
Jan 25 2013 19st6lb Bust-51, w-47", tum-57".
Progress! I didn't realise how many inches as I still wear the same clothes. I bought some new black trousers and a top from Debenhams in the sale. Size 22! I was a 26-28. I'm off to see a friend in his play tonight with a group of friends so I'm going to wear my new stuff and possibly even heels!

Porridge, coffee then errands. It's going to be a great day!

Well, I've had a burst of energy and cleared out all the old magazines I've been hoarding for months and havent looked at sideways. Each month I'm going to buy a new glamour magazine and use Lesley's scrap book idea to cut out clothes and things I like.

Good news is my OH has joined me on the diet. He's a grumpy bear in bed with a headache this morning because he lapsed and had a tin of Heinz tomato soup which is full of sugar yesterday so I think he's got a carb hangover again. He refuses to weigh himself because he gets discouraged but he was around the 17.5 mark when I started on 5th.. At least it's stopped him constantly tempting me with takeaways. He has a load of xgorgeous jackets from when he was 13st, I'm looking forward to seeing him in them again!

He loses weight really fast compared to me but to keep me on track he's bought me a bracelet. I get a charm for each new stone bracket I reach which I think is a lovely idea. He started at the 22st I used to be to show how far I've come. I'm v v lucky to have him. Quite excited to see what the next one is! 6 lbs to go.....

Hi angel, what a lovely idea about the bracelet. I look forward to reading your journey. Xxx

Thanks carrie, you've had an amazing loss so far, I bet it feels great to be over half way? Good luck

Wow, just got in from a horrendous drive back from my friends play. Clear roads at 7.30 turned into several inches in 3 hours. Took us 2 hours to do a 40 min journey. So happy to be home. There were cars stranded all over the place. Peppermint tea then bed. Hungry but I ate at 6. Time for sleep once I've wound down a bit.

Morning all! I'm passed the stone mark in 21 days whoohoooooooo. :bunnydance: funky bunny dance required! Ooh I just got porridge on my computer... Must've been some on the spoon handle. WhWhoops

Today I get to order my subscription to glamour magazine. £14 for 12 issues. It's my first reward. I need to catch up and see what there is out there after so long in brown baggy jumper and leggings. Le5ley suggested a mood scrapbook which is a great idea. Fill it with pics an quotes etc that you like to give you a lift when struggling.

Now for a pint of peppermint tea to warm the cockles...

Congratulations!!! Well done! Smashing loss and breaking through the first stone is a fab feeling!

Good idea that to reward yourself and you'll have so many cut outs of clothes you'll want to buy when you reach your goal - shouldn't be too long :) xx

Thanks Ali, it is nice to break that first one. It's all going to cost my OH a fortune! Each time I feel tempted to buy something I shouldn't I put the equivelant money in a jar to save up. There's a jacket I love that I've seen at local craft fairs but I've about 3-4 stone to go before it'll fit. Have you any treats in store?

hubby has given me 2 charms for my bracelet. One for getting to 21. St and an artists palette for reaching 20. I'm only 4 lbs away from the next one, no idea what it is, he's already got it.

Well done on your first stone! First of many. Gorgeous jacket. I wanna buy something I've always wanted but inexpensive as an incentive, so I've been on eBay and bought a black short body on dress size 10 eeeek!!! Only cost £5 total. I don't want to buy new clothes as I'm going down as I already have loads size 10s but as I've worn them before, I know what I look like in them.... Does that make sense? Where as a body con dress, I've never owned one but always wanted 1. I'll hang it on the front of my wardrobe. Xxx

good for you! eBay is fantastic for goal clothes. Size 10 goodness I've never been less than a 14. Body con dresses can look amazing. I've an entire suitcase of size 16 waiting for me but my work trousers zip went hence the shopping. I gave all my big clothes away last time i lost weight so have a 'capsule' wardrobe should I say. Do you know what your wedding dress is going to be. Yet? Vegas, wow ....

I got married in Vegas in march last year. I'll post some pics xxx
