    Jules - My three month challenge on a wedding dress mission!!

    Hi all,

    I joined the forum yesterday and spent hours reading some great diarys so thought I would try and keep my own...

    Well here goes, I am 41, fat and getting married at the end of June

    I was always a big child then an adult who had children and got bigger and bigger. In 2008 I had a gastric band which gave me what i had wanted for years, a skinny size 8 figure !! The downside was I was incredibly unwell and unable to keep anything down so the band had to be removed . I swore I was never going to big again but partner moved in lots of nice meals and wine and here i am fat and fed up.

    My partner proposed last mth and we get married end of june in venice :-)) Thats the good news, the bad news I went shopping for a dress and omg!! I am under no illusion how big I am but I looked disgusting and there is no way I getting married looking like that.

    So...... heres the challenge I am on day 3 of exante ts and I want to lose 3 stone
    So far its not been to difficult, last night i really struggled as had major munchies feeling but just kept surfing this site which dragged me through.
    I was expecting to feel rough today as it seemed like others had on day 3 but i feeling good and going aqua fit tonight.. if im not snowed in by then!!

    Hi again Jules, I posted on your other thread but wanted to say hi here. Having a diary is a great tool, it's certainly helped me and it's good to have somewhere to record how you're feeling and how you're doing, the good and the bad.

    As for that 3 stone, it'll be gone in no time, you should be able to do that in the time and you'll be a gorgeous happy bride in beautiful Venice
    Weigh In Day: Thursday
    Starting Weight: 17st 11.5lbs
    Week 1 - 17st 5.5lbs = 6lb loss
    Week 2 - 17st 2.5lbs = 3lb loss
    Week 3 - 17st 0lbs = 2.5lb loss
    Week 4 - 16st 11lbs = 3lb loss
    Week 5 - 16st 9.25lbs = 1.75lb loss
    Week 6 - 16st 4.25lbs = 5lb loss
    Week 7 - 16st 1.25lbs = 3lb loss
    Week 8 - 15st 12lbs = 3.25lb loss
    Week 9 - 15st 9.5lbs = 3.25lb loss
    Week 10 - 15st 5.5lbs = 3.25lb loss

    Well Jel!! Venice wedding......fabulous. I can't hint of any greater motivation. Have you bought any dress mags yet? I think that your going to have a great success at this. I can feel it in my pipes.

    i have a holiday in August that I'm using as mine. I found some pics of me on holiday 10 years ago and I was shocked at how much I've changed. So I've whacked one up on the fridge.

    Im a very social person and find the weekends tough as that's when I would enjoy wine and cook food and eat out. I've knocked all alcohol on the head. Which is also good for my will power, but feel it will be time to don a nuns habit before too long.

    I'm really looking forward to following your wedding weightless diary.xx

    Hi Quirky and Jael, these dairys are great for stopping me falling off the wagon :-) I have narrowed dress down to a choice of three while shopping saturday but thank god saturday was first day of exante cos i would have been eating all night i was so upset bout trying on dresses. Woman in shopping telling me they come up small and then saying I need a 3Xl ?!?!? then she tightened up the back and i looked like bessie bunter!|! Well this weight is def coming off this time for good I am sick of my weight ruling my self confidence and it makes me drink too much... yeah sounds nuts but i get so stressed bout looking fat when going out i just having a couple very large vodkas before i go and then drink all night cos then i dont care lol.
    The wedding has all happened so quick, my partner is 50 in july so i had booked a surprise 4 day trip with my best friends of 27 years to venice. He proposes out blue suggests summer wedding so i had to tell him about venice and he suggests we get married there :-) It is a paperwork nightmare but gradually trawling through it all and date booked. We are having a reception on 20th July in a local hotel for all our friends and family , which gives me another 3 weeks after the wedding to drop more weight lol ..
    Well kids need feeding though they plenty old enough to sort selfs out ( must take mug sign off head) so off to sort them and get ready for aqua fit :-) xx

    BTW I have loads more than 3 stone to lose more like 7 st in total but thought 7 stone in 3 month was unrealistic haha

    Hey Jules, I'm here to stalk your diary!!

    I am so jealous that you're not only going to Venice but you're getting married there, make sure you take lots of pictures to show us....I've never travelled in my life but Venice is the first place I'd go if I did.

    If your kids are old enough to cook for themselves maybe you could ask them nicely to make their own meals while you're on exante, you don't want temptation in your face every night!
    I hope that doesn't sound rude or anything but when I lived at home and had 2 younger brothers I used to have to cook for them while I was dieting and it was hell, and it was what made me fall off the wagon again and again.

    Hi Jules! Welcome! Firstly congrats on the engagement!! Secondly i am sure you can loose 3 stone in 4 months!
    How are you finding the 1st week?

    Afternoon all :-) So how is everyone today? So the last 24 hrs well ... I went to aqua fit last night, only four people there and I cant possibly think why during a blizzard ;-) So really good work out and battle my home in the snow, ok well it at off my road so not really a hero lol. I could have eaten a scabby horse when I got home but settled for a pint of water and banana shake instead and ignored the very loud stomach noises!
    So this morning I am awake at silly o clock and still sort of hungry but have drank loads this morning at work, just having a very lumpy tomato soup now so thought I would pop in and say Hi.
    Well this is Day four and still no major wobbles but then that is very me, when I start something I am very enthuastic but that wears off after week or so and thats danger time for munching. I have no clue if im in ketosis or not but I took dog for little walk in snow before work this morning which is almost unheard off so maybe thats the energy thing people talk about... Hmm well i wouldnt recommend the lumps in the soup , I may have to treat work to a blender or bring my shaky cup thing in cos this is quite gross lol. Ok well lunch time ramble over this paperwork isnt doing itself... Be back later :-)

    Hey Blue, It really weird but when I dieting I tend to cook more than usual to the piont they accuse me off trying to fatten them up so I look skinny lol... They are def old enough Daughter is 19 and son 17 but typical lazy teens unless it suits them ;-) I think I am much better mentally knowing I cant eat anything except the bar,soup,shake cos then I wont have just one of something that leads to a packet or huge plate xx

    Thanks Sam :-) So far so good, no major wobbles which im very surprised about I think maybe as im keeping busy. You have a great loss so far well done!! I hope I can do as well. Im managing to avoid the scales at moment cos I know I will be obsessive about it once I start ! xx

    Yeah I get like that! I tend to weigh in the morning when I brush my teeth, and try not do it again.
    I ended up buying some new scales yesterday.

    Keeping busy and the water is the key. I tend to stay out of the kitchen as much as possible!

    Hi all , no i havent given up or vanished just toooooooo busy. Well ~I have nearly finished day 7 :-)))))) and weigh in is tomorrow morning and i dont want to get on scales!! Yeah mad i know but there are so many great losses on here an im so worried if i only lose a couple pound i will end up eating loads. My partner away workin till sat nite an kids both out so nothing to stop me eating all day if disappointed with scales. I know i have lost something cos it showing in face and my hands like blocks ice so must be in ketosis and ive only had 1 bar,1 shake,1 soup per day so why am i so nervous .......

    Jules you'll be fine don't worry. You have to think that a loss is better than a gain ... We all loose different amounts at different times so can't really compare. Stay focused and on track. Keep busy today and drink as much water as you can.
    Come on here and keep your fingers busy.

    I was awake at silly o clock and jumped up to weigh myself and nearly fell off the scales as id lost 11 pounds :-)))))))))))
    So week 1 is a total success and im so pleased and relieved.
